Gives you access to Windows programs inside your mac

  • June 22, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I don't need another Computer or do dual booting to run Windows in my MacBook, I open fusion, and inside fusion, I run the Windows applications I need, simple as that. Visio and Publisher run as it does on my windows laptop.
What do you dislike about the product?
The CPU utilization is high and the computer gets hot, but that happens with every VM software, driver emulation for external hardware not connected to the Mac is not there yet
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can use Windows-only applications in my Mac, for example, Publisher and Visio and they work as they do natively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a little expensive for home use but if your company pays for a MacBook is a small price anyway in comparison. With this you have MacOSX + Windows applications, go for it.

It's like having windows installed over a Mac

  • June 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I can run all my windows programs directly on my mac, no need to change computers to run a windows only program like Visio. I can suspend it with click and continue later exactly where I left it without needing to start the virtual machine again.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you suspend a VM for a lot of time for some reason the clock is not synced for a few minutes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using windows apps in my mac
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Buy it, the price tag gets shrinked when you consider that it will generate a lot more revenue in the long or even the short term

Just the best virtualization software for MACOSX

  • June 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Works and integrates really well with Windows and Linux hosts, drag and drop two-way funcionality including cut and paste words and urls. You can run several VMs in your machine as long as your hardware is good enough to support it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up a new virtual machine, specially if it's a flavor of Windows can take hours. And setting up a separate network card is not trivial.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Windows and Linux virtualization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Download VMWare tools as soon as you set up a new machine if you are planninf to use it for a long term, that will make your life easier later on.

A must have if you use MacOSX

  • June 15, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Some software is just not available for MacOSX and that's life, with fusion you don't need to suffer by not having it or get another PC or OS to have it available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Great software but driver emulation still not there yet, hope someday it will :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using a Windows virtual machine to run apps that are not available on MacOSX
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I tried al other virtualization softwares out there, not worth it, stick with this even if it isn't free.

Easy and fast to use

  • June 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great to run apps that are not available on a Mac. Unfortunately, I have to use software that isn't available on My favorite OS, so with VMWare fusion, I don't need to swap machines or OS to open a vsdx, just wait for 1 minute and open it in a virtual machine
What do you dislike about the product?
The performance is not as great as running the apps natively but the difference is not as big, so not really a big issue
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Virtualization of other OS to have non native apps available on my machine
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's better than having to use another machine, the small price to pay is well worth it.

Quite basic virtualization tool for mac users

  • June 13, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Fairly nice interface, and straightforward controls. Allows USB-porting to the virtual machine, which can be a bit of a hassle in other programs I've encountered.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a steep learning curve, but it isn't too much of a problem if you're not doing anything too complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It does what you expect from a virtual machine, allowing MAC users to run different versions of Windows, or Linux distributions, which is not an unusual need for software development aimed at running on any operating system.

Best virtualization software when you have a MAC

  • June 11, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have used many flavors of linux and windows under this virtualization software and some even run better than native. It's amazing how good this thing works.
What do you dislike about the product?
adding network cards and integrating takes time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with virtual machines in several operating systems
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's worth the price, i think it's the best

Functional But Not User Friendly

  • May 09, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The biggest thing is that it allows the user a completely immersed experience within the virtual machine. For example, we run a version of Windows 10 through VMWare off of a Mac, and it's as if there were only the PC functioning on that window. For functions that need to be done on a PC (we use an old recruiting software), it's very helpful to have an entire virtual machine to run off of rather than just the program (like through Microsoft RD).
Another plus is that documents can be dragged easily (most of the time) between the PC desktop and the Mac desktop, so that interface is relatively seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a number of downsides. The biggest is the strain on the computer's power and processing. The program is hefty, and that is felt across the board on the computer. Additionally, the combination of VMWare and EMAS Recruitment Pro is inefficient, as EMAS needs to be restarted constantly when the user navigates out of VMWare for too long. That could be specific to that particular combination, but I have not had the same problem with other, similar software.
Additionally, the network connection isn't consistent and I constantly have to change back and forth between the sources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our recruiting software needs to run off of a PC or a PC substitute (on a Mac), and VMWare offers a way to do that. It's handy because switching off between the VMWare Windows application to an actual PC machine running Windows isn't a problem. And, of course, we can do our job because it runs the necessary software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'm sure it's an excellent solution for many. Our particular use of it and the combination of VMWare with EMAS Recruitment Pro., however, has not been ideal. The strain on the Mac is just one of those issues.

What do you like best about the product?
I love this tool. Without it i cannot do my work in office because most of the tools do not run on MAC OS and i have to have a windows machine. So, i installed Windows on VMWARE fusion and use it everyday.
What do you dislike about the product?
Recent upgrades causes some copy paste issues and also i have noticed it creates some unnecessary temp files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tools on windows

Great if you want specific task to do in different operating system

  • April 12, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I will start from the beginning, the installation itself is very smooth. i am using macBook Pro 2018 and it took me 30 -35 mins to install it on the system . also the sharing functionality helps a lot where all of my files from the mac imported to the VM machine and i can access it from there . also whenever i make any change it reflect on the both the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main thing i dislike the most is it slows down the whole system. I am using macbook pro and it still slows down to that machine . But other than that i can not see any downside of the fusion .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
If you are looking to run 2 or more operating system for development and testing it will be the best software for you . just be sure your system should fulfill the minimum requirements of the system hardware and software
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is the best software in the market if you want to try many operating systems at a same time. also it is very user friendly so you need not have any prior skills to use it .
