UserTesting: User testing and experiential research made easy
What do you like best about the product?
It surprises me to see how usertesting.com is able to find very specific user groups based on a set of screening questions. I have used it for several corporate and B2B websites with very unique users, and I was able to get results in a few hours or a day at the most.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many participants seem to be "professional" testers; they provide excellent feedback but are a bit more savvy than your typical user. There are ways to get around this, you just need to filter them better or enable the fresh eyes option to avoid having the same people over and over again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We discover if the words and phrases we use are the same as those used by your audience. We mainly work on concepts and find that this gives us a good starting point.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
UT is undoubtedly the best tool that exists. It is much better than the competition in almost every aspect. It is also becoming very good at moderate sessions and will surpass all competitions in this area due to the communication tool used (Zoom).
A No-Brainer
What do you like best about the product?
I love how quickly user tests come back in, and how we can see their screens, and listen to their feedback. I can launch a test at 6pm, and I'll full results back before I get into the office in the morning.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love more opportunities and options to share out results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It cuts dev time in half, and our whole design process. I am able to test prototypes without relying on dev to build out multiple options to run A/B tests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are in the user research space, and are looking to streamline the testing process, UserTesting is a no brainer. With accessibility to a huge range of users, it's easy to find or select a panel of users fitting specific criteria. There's really no reason for customer-centric orgs to NOT use UserTesting.
Fantastic for lightweight iterative testing of non-sensitive projects
What do you like best about the product?
Rapid feedback, easy to iterate on projects and get directional feedback. Easy to use and rapidly improving. Extremely responsive customer support.
What do you dislike about the product?
The licensing structure changes two years ago added significant barriers to usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Content refinement, design refinement, identify discoverability problems, attitudes, and comprehension of a multiplicity of projects. This platform has enabled me to quadruple user research efforts at my current company
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fantastic platform enabling rapid iterative testing; it's not without limitations but is a phenomenal tool for scaling up user research.
Time saving tool that removes "I feel/like" statements out of the process
What do you like best about the product?
The fast turnaround on tests and the ability to easily create user empathy with the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the limitations with audience size based on test type. Example: sentiment (30) vrs function (10-15)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visual issue, functional problems and project scope problems
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at the features and find the best tool for you If you are ne to testing just jump in and try it.
Wonderful way to get rich feedback quickly
What do you like best about the product?
I am a team of one at my company of 500+ and am always running multiple studies at once. UserTesting is an absolutely crucial tool for me to be able to get fast turnaround of user feedback that helps us make product and content decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Limited question types sometimes inhibit the breadth of feedback I am looking for in certain studies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting feedback at scale, understanding and identifying usability issues, validating design preference. The benefits are the quality of feedback and the quick turnaround. I also started using MyRecruit to test with our actual users, which was an amazing feature addition to the UserTesting suite.
some challenges for larger teams, but amazing to connect with customers
What do you like best about the product?
scaling and expanding our teams' connections with customers
What do you dislike about the product?
seeing who is collaborating on projects is difficult to see or establish. usage reporting is a little weak - which is important for teams larger than 2-4
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
our designers and developers need to justify why they make the choices they make. usertesting gives them customer quotes, preferences, and opinions that drive customer-centric decision making within our team
Great way to test your MVP
What do you like best about the product?
I loved the fact that I could select the demographic of the testers. Adding to that I got the project completed very fast which was great!
What do you dislike about the product?
No API for direct integration so we can push test automatically at scale
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Debug our early version app for both iOS and Android
Large panel, fast insights, limited test types
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that I can tap a large community of valid users quickly to gain insights into what my team is working on within a day.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is primarily focused on prototype testing. It would be good to include more types of study types.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So far we've used the tool to better understand very specific use cases or requireements.
Like it but...
What do you like best about the product?
Large user base to collect data, a lot of options for different types of tests
What do you dislike about the product?
Their third party companies like Optimal Workshop that comes with the User Testing subscription is a horrible integration and ruined a lot of our data.
Work in a health company where a lot of our users have specific medical conditions. Hard to find users that can relate some of the time.
Work in a health company where a lot of our users have specific medical conditions. Hard to find users that can relate some of the time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
how to improve the experience for our users. You can really narrow down the type of person you need.
Review Title
What do you like best about the product?
I like the speed at which I can get insights. I like the ability to make video clips.
What do you dislike about the product?
Video editor can be cumbersome to use. Test actions are often hidden under ellipses which feels a little too clever or overly neat. Not always positive where I am in the tool navigation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have just started ramping up our usage and I used it to get feedback on a conference website. I realized people like our design, want a search bar, and are confused about branded labels in navigation.
