A helpful part of a healthy design process
What do you like best about the product?
User testing provides a lightweight way of gathering data from a large number of participants spread across a wide demographic that I can customize.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's important to be very intentional about the demographic you filter to, as there are some users who are almost like professional user testers and will read every word on the screen, unlike real users in a real life scenario.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gathering insights, validating concepts, and testing variations.
Quick and convenient feedback
What do you like best about the product?
I like the efficiency of UserTesting to get quality feedback and the note-taking feature, which makes it really easy to time stamp and pull quotes and flag key insights.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. I think the only comment I have is I put effort into making sure the tests are intuitive so I put it descriptive text to make sure the participants know what to do. I preview the test on the app but I think they see something different because they use the browser extension? I'm not entirely sure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, I use UserTesting for prototype and design testing, but I believe there's potential to use it in our organization to assist our other research methods.
Quick and easy way to get customer insights
What do you like best about the product?
I like that UserTesting allows you to quickly get in contact with users and get feedback on products or features right away
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the UI with UserTesting is not the most intuitive or easy. One particular nitpick I have is the text boxes when creating a user plan, they resize responsively, and you have to drag the box to enlarge it instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've learned a lot about customers' financial habits and mental models through UserTesting and have been able to apply those insights to create better products quickly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out and figure it is'a good solution for your team!
Unmoderated Testing
What do you like best about the product?
I like that the platform gives very fast insights and let's us reach out to remote audiences.
What do you dislike about the product?
Set up takes a while, and because the tests are unmoderated, we need to design our prototypes in a way that seems more guided than we would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're solving the representative audience aspect, making sure our product works for users outside of Bay Area. The benefits are that insights are very fast for quick turnaround timelines.
Great multi-purpose insights tool
What do you like best about the product?
As long as you can get budget for an account, it's a great tool for bringing rich qualitative insights to an enterprise without the lead time and headache of using a third party recruiter.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sharing across different accounts within the same enterprise, time to recruit for my specific participant types(we have a lot of re-sampling unless we want recruiting to drag on for a while or go with unmoderated tests) - also quality of participants can be a challenge as some folks may 'fake it' to get past screening criteria.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
mainly just testing and gathering insights
Saving time and accelerating research
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting.com allows our team to spin up a test in a few hours vs. weeks of planning and recruiting.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more integrated insight management features, like in Aurelius. We currently use Aurelius to do all of our analysis and sharing of research, so we can democratize the research we conduct.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently solving for who our audience is and learning more about our users and their needs/wants. We have realized the benefits of quick iterative testing and it has influenced our prototypes and final products quicker than ever before
Allows you to check your new release or product
What do you like best about the product?
The honesty of user thinking out loud on your project
What do you dislike about the product?
Few interaction with single user which tests and costs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Test a new website before release
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The service has it costs, if you need few feedback you can consider asking you friends and relatives, if you need a market research this service come in play.
Fast, convenient, but clunky. Look
What do you like best about the product?
Convenient, timely, fast. Fairly easy to set up and run basic usability and concept tests.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the panel are clearly expert testers. Limited B2B panel. Difficult to test mobile apps in context (especially iOS). Hard to navigate through the platform - workspaces, etc. Limited metrics and displays - with think aloud being the default for testers, the time on task metric is useless. Some questions/test formats are limiting. Looking forward to improvements
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to engage with a consumer audience for basic, fast feedback on live site and prototypes. Saving time on my end by allowing others to watch videos and quickly answer their questions without tapping resources for moderating.
Really get to know your customer and your product!
What do you like best about the product?
Fast, unlimited testing with a solid tester base.
What do you dislike about the product?
That Saved Audiences and Saved Tests are not part of the core platform; that you need to upgrade to use something that should be a standard part of making testing easier, more efficient. It's not an upsell feature imo.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're getting to know our customers and product better. We hope to use Panels to get to know our retailers better too!
