Great tool for usability testing
What do you like best about the product?
Our research team likes how quickly we can put tests in front of users and how quickly we can iterate on our designs because of it. We also like the clip functionality within each session as it transcribes and helps stakeholders hear from the real users
What do you dislike about the product?
Live conversations did not work for us as they have calendar issues for areas like Phoenix. We had non-stop issues with participants not showing up at the correct time and had to abandon our project on this platform. There is also the issue of professional testers on the platform...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to quickly iterate on our design ideas and product testings, as we run on lean UX methodologies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In terms of being able to get your product/designs in front of a lot of users very quickly, it's a great tool. We mainly use user testing when creating and designing features for our mobile web, desktop or mobile app platforms.
A valuable resource for our UX organization
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting allows us to get user feedback quicker than any other tool we've used
What do you dislike about the product?
The note-taking experience can feel a bit clunky at times
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're currently maintaining a library of research insights using a separate tool. It would be fantastic to have a feature like this as part of the platform
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you try to user conversations feature!
UserTesting.com Offers the Friendliest Testing
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it takes a very short time to setup, launch, and hear feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
Often I wish I could get more help with user questions - making them non-bias. Sometimes when I send out a test I don't get to the heart of the problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves me time instead of going to a coffee shop and having to ask strangers for feedback.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask for a trial version before you start.
Great Platform for Gathering User Insights
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting is a great platform to gather unbiased and reliable insights from users about our site to continually make improvements. They are constantly improving upon the platform and always coming out with exciting new features. UT.com makes my job easier because I know I'll always be able to get human centric data back quickly so I can deliver actionable key insights to our main stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are sometimes bugs with the platform, but the support team is always very fast to respond and help out with our needs!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving key business goals such as increasing conversion. UT helps us realize how to make our site more efficient, learnable and memorable for users.
A vital part of our iterative design process
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting has proved to be an invaluable tool to help ensure that we are creating user-centered designs and experiences. We can segment their large pool of participants to test an incredibly savvy and insightful audience, with sessions available to view oftentimes in mere minutes. UserTesting has become an integral step in our iterative design process as a quick way to get quick, qualitative feedback at any stage of a design.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nitpicky stuff: The automated transcriptions of users' comments into text are not always as accurate as we'd like. The recently redesigned Metrics dashboard cannot be exported as a PDF.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to using UserTesting, we rarely, if ever, sought out direct feedback from our users on our designs/experiences, and because of this, we had subpar designs/experiences that didn't really meet our users' needs and expectations. Since using UserTesting, we are now creating designs and experiences specifically based on user insights/feedback so that they better meet our users' needs, so we're seeing vastly improved engagement.
Really robust and focused UX research tool for unmoderated and moderated sessions
What do you like best about the product?
UT is my top choice for unmoderated research. They've also recently launched a moderated session scheduler that integrates with Zoom. Using their tool is so simple and quick, and their panel is so engaged: you can typically fill a study in less than two hours and begin watching recordings immediately as they roll in. They handle all details of incentives for both moderated and unmoderated sessions, so all you have to do is set up the tasks and launch it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The screener setup process is somewhat limited, but this is what keeps things simple. There is only basic logic you can implement to allow respondents or boot them out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We collected quick unmoderated usability feedback on prototypes and production experiences.
A Powerful Marketing Tool
What do you like best about the product?
UT has opened up new possibilities for our company. It is a tool we use frequently to better understand our customers, who they are, and their specific needs. UT gives us a lot of flexibility since it provides various tools to conduct comprehensive research (card sorting, usability testing, survey integration, prototype testing, moderated sessions, etc.). It is a one-stop shop for all our research needs. It is a more complete and complex platform than the other tools available out there, and thus helps us to quickly and efficiently get the feedback we need to act upon.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike here. It is hard to find fault with this platform since the company is constantly evolving and improving its offerings. The only negative thing is the fact that some testers do not take moderated sessions seriously, often ditching the interviews without warning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
UT helps us better understand the needs of our clients. It helps us to stop wandering what our clients need/want, and focus our time and attention on changes that will be beneficial to our clients. UT has also been a source of inspiration for new features for our apps and platforms.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
UT is hands-down the best tool out there. It is much better than the competition in pretty much all the aspects. It is also getting very good at moderated sessions, and will overpass any competition in this field because of the communication tool used (ie, Zoom).
A great tool for quick feedback on your designs
What do you like best about the product?
UserTesting is a cost-effective and convenient tool for user testing. I can create a testing plan and within as little of an hour, have user feedback. This gives me the insights I need to design new products and test those that have already shipped. Further, UserTesting has been helpful for competitive research.
What do you dislike about the product?
Watching long videos can get exhausting. Sometimes the video is so long because the user is just rehashing the same feedback--it may be that they're purposely extending the session because it's tied to their compensation. This is something that UserTesting should take a closer look into; and it may just be that they need to work on how they coach the users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm trying to get user feedback both early in the design process and then later to test products we currently have on the market. I want to measure user understanding and sentiment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have an understanding of the users you want to test. If you need to build, a basic UserTesting plan can help with that, although there are some limitations with reaching international testers. If you already have a list of users you want to test, you will need to invest in a higher up plan to do that.
Powerful tool for user research
What do you like best about the product?
you have a massive panel and our studies generally can be recruited quickly thanks to the behaviors and habits we need are widely represented in your panel.
What do you dislike about the product?
I recognize that it's always a problem w/ software systems, but it's unfortunate that more known enhancements don't get rolled out at a faster pace - i find it's great to hear something I am requesting is often what other customers are requesting - i wish the known issues would be escalated and enhancements rolled out sooner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we want to gauge feedback quickly and we get the benefit of participants responding quickly to provide feedback.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Leverage the chat for customer service feature and always submit requests for future feature requests.
Usertesting is great for providing valuable feedback!
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about UserTesting is the quick ability to gain a lot of input from various individuals and also providing it through the online site or phone app.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the options to send out surveys to individuals as I feel like the majority of users cannot take certain surveys
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Main business problem being solved is the ability to test your apps and also get quick feedback from various users. It provides a multitude of opinions which is a huge benefit.
