Positive experience

What do you like best about the product?
I like that IBM offers Pliant, its a powerful and the buying process is so much easier
What do you dislike about the product?
When I bought Pliant I didn't realize they had this partnership. Would have been helpful for procurement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use pliant to manage performance alerts, and have built workflows that update servicenow, send notifications when we need to escalate, and suppress things when they're not important. It's a huge time savings and makes our NOCC much more agile.

The Goldilocks of Automation

  • October 13, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have a dev mindset here and pride ourselves on coding out of any problem. A lot of our folks were hesitant to use a tool, but Pliant is really a mix of no code and code - it's not overly complex and it's not over simple either...like the three little bears
What do you dislike about the product?
Pliant doesn't promote the fact that it's not just some tool enough. The fact is a lot of these orchestrators are built for really non-technical people. Pliant does that too, but it really is the best and most capable replacement for code that I've been able to find out there
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pliant is letting us do more. They'll probably hate this, but we call it "disposable" automation I can build a workflow in like 20 minutes, run it for a day, and delete it. The same thing would have taken me a couple days to build before which would have made no sense if I was goi g to run it for such a short time.

Orchestration made easy

What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can build services with a single click and easily tap into different platforms from one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it shipped with more workflows out of the box, not just integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pliant is solving a cross domain issue for us. It allows us to rinse and repeat. By that I mean we can build the workflows out, have them approved by the "owners'' and then use resources that are not experts to execute the workflows. Doing this to build services and platforms accelerates our time to market and our ability to scale the organization.

Does more than I thought it would.

What do you like best about the product?
Pliant works like some of the more consumer-friendly automation tools out there, but it's much better at building complex workflows. If you know to drag stuff to build an automation for gmail, you can use this virtual machine and the apps that run on it; slack all the stakeholders, and be done in time for a nap.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a little more of a learning curve than I would have hoped for. It's not hard once you get it, but you have to really get it to be a power user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's OMG time. I have built a library of workflows that I keep unpublished; I can call into other workflows whenever I need them. When you put in the time, you save so much on the back end. It takes me seconds to do what used to take hours.

Love the solution

What do you like best about the product?
After building the first few workflows with Pliant, every time we are on an escalation bridge and we got to resolution, there are always a few items in the notes that basically say "We need to Pliant this or that." Once we started capturing a few of the basic things that our SREs did on a day-to-day basis, we came to love the power of the system. We can take what used to be a bunch of poorly written Confluence run books, and wrap them in workflows that our L1/L2 team can use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish the system has a better concept of inventory and devices. Today we use it along with ServiceNow, but ServiceNow can be clunky as it tries to do too much for basic tasks. I am told some basic inventory capability is coming soon, so this may be a non-issue soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want our L1 and L2 teams to do more. With remote work, sometimes it feels like all they can do is call an SRE immediately, which is not exactly a huge value add. It was also a struggle to give them access to systems at the 'right' level. Not where they can break major production, but also enough to where they can do diagnostics and maybe some basic tasks like resets and such. With Pliant we can build out run books, which also plug in well with out governance needs of tracking changes without extra paperwork. Now the teams can accomplish a lot more but we have seen increased participation from the NOC in building new workflows that, once the SRE team reviews, they can start using.

Orchestrating Observability

What do you like best about the product?
I can wrap the mindless busy work that's too crucial to give to the interns in Pliant workflows, and the requesting user can now just use an Automation Center tile to kick it off instead of emailing me.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had more prebuild workflows or sequences I could just grab and edit and publish. They have some, but I WANT MORE!
I wish they had more prebuild workflows or sequences I could just grab and edit and publish. They have some, but I WANT MORE!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We assign interns to do a lot of the repeatable work, but when it's work that's customer-facing or where uptime and experience are critical, we have to find other ways. It used to go to engineers; now it goes to pliant.

Two-way partnership that has helped us accelerate our growth.

What do you like best about the product?
My agency provides strategic marketing solutions for Pliant, and we have worked together for over two years throughout their rapid growth, as well as our own. About a year ago, I explained that we were having some challenges with various tools and how they interacted, and the Pliant team offered to help. The collaboration has been incredible, and the solutions they helped develop for us have gone a long way toward solving our integration challenges.
What do you dislike about the product?
After having positioned their products in materials and programs, once we were on the other side of the fence as users, I realized for the first time that the product was more technical than I had anticipated. When we positioned it at times as "something anyone can use," you genuinely have to have some technical background to capitalize on all of its features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As we began growing our business and working with more and more clients, it pretty quickly became clear to me that no two of our clients' tech stacks were ever going to look alike. No matter how much we wanted to normalize our processes and provide common, repeatable ways of (for example) reporting on success metrics, we would never be able to with such a diverse set of platforms and tools to deal with. Pliant helped us build workflows that integrated a number of disparate systems in ways that just weren't consistently possible with out-of-the box connectors and APIs. This has provided us with the ability to securely manage data and processes in a way that lets us focus more on execution and less on operations.

Awesome automation that offers tons of control

What do you like best about the product?
The access control is killer. I can give someone on my team a role that's limited to literally one action in one API. Gives me total control without having to do everything myself.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could grant temporary access that expires.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i'm responsible for ensuring compliance with a ton of internal and external protocols. Giving away the keys to the kingdom is just not an option. Pliant helps me farm out a ton of work while still making sure i don't open us up to risk.

A good blend of texhnical and ease of use

  • October 07, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy enough to use but not so simple that it can't do everything we need as a business.
What do you dislike about the product?
They don't share pricing online which was a little frustrating early on. The team got me what I needed quickly though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation was a really manual task here, and we needed something that pulled it all together. Pliant is like a conductor of an orchestra for us, taking a bunch of one off scripts and tools and making them work together.

Best integrations coverage on the market. Period.

What do you like best about the product?
Hands-down, their integrations. They have connectors with a huge amount of vendors and theyguarantee that they'll get any others they don't already have when I need them.
What do you dislike about the product?
They have a free version but you can't (or I don't know how to) upgrade myself like with a card.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have lots of automation tools across the business. Lots of them do one or two things really well. Pliant helps me aggregate everything together - it's really helping with the silo problem.
