Sage Intacct is very resourceful and friendly-user.

What do you like best about the product?
Sage Intacct has the help bar and is easily answered/researched within the software. We can delete, edit or undo journal entries, AP checks, bank reconciliations, etc. The main dashboards are very friendly-user and robust. We can star the most used functions in Sage Intacct. For example, if I pay bills, print checks, bank reconciliations, download general ledgers, I can star the tabs. This allows me to spot the most used functions in the system. I also like the different entities we need and it's categorized separately. Sage Intacct have easy search bar on every page, along with different company entities. If one Sage Intacct user need to reset password, the others can assist and reset. When submitting journal entries, others can also edit or delete if needed. It's not necessary for the main user who uploaded the journal entries to edit/delete. This makes the system much for intuitive. There are options to print 1099 in accounts payable. This is really helpful for in-house companies, rather than asking third parties. We can add new accounts in the system and categorized them to expense, revenue, cash, payable accounts. It's very easy to search all the account ledgers, and multiple filters to sort date ranges, period of the year, quarterly months and account range. This definitely makes my work easier to download all reports needed during busy times like audit season, and month end closing. Transactions like funds transfers, manual payments are easily recorded and entered into the system. Sage Intacct can soft close for the month, and reopen a certain month if needed to make adjustments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sage Intacct often have new update versions, which change the interface slightly. For example, the new bank reconciliations is more difficult than the original bank rec version to view the numbers and to reconcile. The older version list all the debits/credits in one page, and the newer version list only debit/credit/all in multiple pages, which is much more difficult to match the amounts. When printing for AP checks, if we accidentally print on the current date, and realized it should be printed on a different date, we cannot void and return back to the page before. We need to print the current AP check then void and reprint with the different date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct have made my accounting work much beneficial and finish month end closing efficiently and effectively. AP billing process are made very easy to print. There are also multiple selection for bank accounts to choose from when printing checks. We can also choose the default bank account for each company entities. When doing monthly bank reconciliations and submitted, sometimes need to undo the bank recs, there are extra steps in tracing back. The benefit of the help and support bar assisted and guided me how to undo the current bank reconciliation. There are quick and easy way to record funds transfers between two bank accounts for daily cash management, transfers in and out. It's not needed to create journal entries to record.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sage Intacct is one of the most user friendly accounting system i have used in my accounting career. The layout and dashboard is designed for each different company entity needed. The support and help search bar are very detailed and not needed to contact customer service every time when troubleshooting. It would be cool if there is a live chat in the system if we need customer support or IT assistance.

What do you like best about the product?
Sage is incredible innovative with its ability to be a great fit regardless of the size of your company. It allows you to upload journal entries that are extensive as well as being intuitive to normal everyday accounting. Its capabilities allow you to set up rules within the software to make the accountant's job more efficient. Sage is very user friendly for those in the accounting world as well as those at a corporate management level.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was hard to follow and stay current on the updates. However, Sage does allow you to continue with the previous user interface if you choose.
One downside to Sage is not being able to have multiple user logins with our current subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The financial reporting within Sage is incredibly robust. This has helped us to relay valuable information to those who need it with the specifics that they need.
Recommendations to others considering the product:

Super Powerful Tool and Amazing Support

  • April 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how customizable reports and structure is. We used Quickbooks before transitioning over to Sage Intacct and we loved how much was available to us through Intacct.
What do you dislike about the product?
I will say, I think that it took a lot more training to understand all the functionalities than I would have liked. There were definitely functions that were not so intuitive that could be made easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to customize reports for different departments that we weren't able to do elsewhere and this helped our entire team get on the same page with our financial position and the role that their departments played in the company's overall financial situation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say that Intacct is a great tool but you have to invest in training. If you are looking just to keep up books and generate simple reports, Intacct is costly and time intensive and may not be the best choice.

Disappointed by the lack of capabilities, automation and advanced functionality

  • March 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The system is fairly quick to open up and process data. We have moved from multiple Quickbooks files, and the Intacct interface is like working with software on your local machine.

Intacct does allow multi-entity functionality, though it seems a bit contrived.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have just finished our implementation after a number of months. The process was not great at all. Once the system was configured, we realized that the implementation team had left out some vital information about how the system works, and we essentially had to redesign everything and go live a month later than hoped.

We had three different implementation specialists during the process. It was started with us filling out "use case templates" with little explanation and no real relationship to the way our company does business. That process

Now that we are using Intacct for just over a month, I have realized that it lacks some basic essentials. These are truly intuitive aspects that one would expect in a system that promotes itself as one that promotes better efficiency and workflow. Nothing is automated. NOTHING

Intacct cannot import bank transactions,. Each payment made and received must be entered into the system manually and individually. Previously in Quickbooks, I could enter a full month of transactions in a matter of a couple of hours. This is a significantly more burdensome process. I will either have to hire a new accountant or pay for an add-on service to simply get back to the level of productivity we had with Quickbooks!

Our company is a healthcare company with thousands of customers. We receive batch payments from insurance companies, but there is no way in the system to receive payments from one party (insurance company) and apply the payment to another party (the insured customer). The only solution we have been given by sage is to enter a credit memo for the payer and a debit memo for each of the customers in a batch. This is triple the burden that we had in Quickbooks. Again, we probably will need to hire another accountant or two or purchase some third party application to facilitate the payments we receive.

Customers can be set up as parent-subsidiary, but there doesn't seem to be any advantage in doing so, because there is no actual relationship other than the ability to create a custom report that sorts parent and subsidiary. Even that process is so complicated that you need an IT specialist just to write the report.

The only way to import transactions is by journal entry. The problem with this is that Journal entries don't affect AR or AP. So, if you have dozens of payments received and import your bank data by journal, then your AP and AR agings and subledger won't tie to your GL anymore.

Sage seems to over-promis and under-deliver. The sales team eliminated some modules of the system in the sales process in order to make it cheaper than the competition. At this point, we have spent around $60,000 for implementation and the first year. This is a big investment for our company, and we are already having to solve significant problems because of the limitations of the system and create work-arounds.

There may be some limited solutions to these issues, but we have been warned that anything offered by Sage to provide a work-around or solution is going to be very expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have not been given any satisfactory answers to the dislikes mentioned above. The only benefit we have realized is the ability to generate combined (not consolidated) reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need to do serious due diligence on this system. Don't let the sales team try to gloss over anything. If you are looking for automated processes, you should probably look elsewhere. This is more manual processes than Quickbooks. In some cases, the functionality is much worse than Quickbooks!

Electronic approvals solved

  • February 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have complex approval workflows with multiple levels. As the fiscal agent for multiple funding sources, agencies, and clients we were able to track and convert to a fully paperless, electronic workflow. This has cut processing time by at least 65%. Tracking data by non-natural accounts and multiple dimensions has been a game changer for us. We are continuously finding new ways to improve and gain efficiencies with the robust features. As the CFO, I want answers fast and I'm able to get them using my dash boards.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any real downsides. The more staff are trained and utilize the features, the more you get.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Efficient workflows and increased access to information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Invest resources into a quality implementation

Satisficed with our new software

  • February 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part is how detailed you can record your transactions. You can assign a certain department, class, location, job, you can even create any kind of custom fields for any of these dimensions. That will help you to create a variety of reports. I feel like this feature just makes your books very clean and organized.
The other benefit I would like to point out is uploaded. You can easily upload a large number of Bills, Invoices, Journal Entries using templates. It's been a lifesaver. No more double work,.
What do you dislike about the product?
Building custom or financial reports is such a complicated matter. You need to do a lot of work on the background even before you start creating your report and it all needs to be deeply planned and organized. You need to spend time on creating account groups, dimension groups, groups of groups just to be able to use certain accounts and dimensions in your reports.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The system helped us to reduse a lot of manual work. As well as clear out some storage space because now we can keep a lot of our paperwork electronically right in the system
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it. It's better than anything there is on the market
