    Information Technology and Services

Informative, fun & learn!

What do you like best about the product?
Sage Intacct has streamline and speed-up the multi-currency, multi-entity consolidation in just a click away. It has improved the month-close process with speed and efficiency. The customized capability in reporting allows the user to create useful financial reports and data analysis. Project reporting allows us to analyze profitability much more easily and timely.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of details for the consolidated general ledger at top level - would be great if the consolidated transaction could provide details like in the entity level. Report creation could be quite difficult for first time user, would be great if Sage Intacct will provide free online hands-on training for their customers to fully utilize the capability of Intacct.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Financial Reporting - be able to generate consolidated financials in minutes and could easily carve out reporting by entities to see period performance vs budget for forecasting.

Project profitability analysis - It allows me to build a report that spontaneously calculate the profitability of each training (pulling revenues & costs from various GL accounts in different entities).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Powerful & time-saving for businesses with multi-entities!

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the flexibility and ease of creating and exporting reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was difficult to make changes to current reports without affecting others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to track and report on A/R, A/P, and other accounting functions. We are realizing the most benefits from the reporting capabilities.

Intacct has been a great product for our company

What do you like best about the product?
Intacct is very user friendly platform and has lots of resources available within the Intacct community. Being able to submit issues or questions, along with having help on each webpage if it isn't clear how to use the product.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that when there are updates made, it seems to change order of items I have bookmarked or made "favorite" for myself to access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my company we are able to run reports in all entities that we manage along with being able to sort of different lines of businesses and categories. Many benefits to the product, we know we are able to contact Sage Intacct if we have any issues or concerns and we are helped within a timely manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to explain your needs and how Intacct can meet those in an efficient manner. Spend time with "practicing" using the product to familiarize yourself with it.

Sage Intacct Conference delivers the best conference so far with relevance on today's finance issues

  • November 19, 2019

What do you like best about the product?
The CFO track was incredible. The sessions were relevant and incredibly helpful in how we are being looked to as change agents within our organization. The hands on elements really help ground me in what is needed and helped validate many of the areas I was already engaged in, but gave me some "food for thought" on how to improve. Finally, I loved the ability to have so many opportunities to network with other NFP finance professionals.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could clone myself. There were many sessions I was interested in, but ran concurrent. That is a good problem to have from Sage Intacct perspective, but not so much for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a complex revenue recognition issue that was solved with our initial implementation of Sage Intacct. Since then, we have seen many benefits with our integration of Nexonia, Joseph Eve Asset Management, and the improved report writer functionality. We have reduced both our monthly close time by 40%, but also seen our Auditors request for additional information reduced by 50%. I am know working on improving my reporting capabilities and dashboards.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Work with a good implementation partner such as Armanino or CLA. Also, remember that once you implement and start using the product, you will find that you wish to add and redo some of your processes as Sage Intacct allows you to expand your horizons on efficiencies...but you won't realize that until you are in it.

    Hospital & Health Care

Noble vision, but some accounting consult required

What do you like best about the product?
The collaborate feature, and how we can share specific transactions and tag people (involving notifications). Some of the tech-focused aspects such as the fixed assets module and how it's set up to automatically depreciation, but also able to be downloaded as a list. Great! We have hundreds, maybe thousands of assets and that's very much how we need to reconcile - as a list like that. The fact that every screen and every view practically can be exported to CSV/excel (great for accountants). The amazing conventions each year! The roles and permissions are very fine-tuned, which is also good. Allows managers take more control over deleting items or controlling transactions without cross over segregation of duties barriers.

Overall I appreciate the tech-oriented, forward-looking spirit of Intacct. There is a lot of potential.

Also, the Intacct Community and the Design Ideas getting up-voted then implemented by engineering team is also a great aspect and I see they do implement ideas so any of the points I mentioned in the 'dislike' section will definitely be resolved in time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I feel some of the nitty-gritty aspects such as the bank recon module and the general ledger reports were designed by software developers who sort of listened to accountants on the ground and interpreted what they heard but weren't really thoroughly designed by accountants on the ground. The Accounts Payable module has the date of the check showing as the date it's selected - not the date it's printed. This is like a basic Accounting System 101 no-no. Every accounting system in the world and every bookkeeper in the world will tell you that they expect to see the date a check is printed, not the date it's selected. I mean this isn't supplemental stuff - this is a seriously basic, fundamental feature that's core to the everyday workflow of every bookkeeper in the world. Similar core design decisions in the bank recon module and GL reports that makes bookkeepers and accountants scratch their heads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The way the reports are arranged with account groups means that if you set up account groups to be ranges rather specific accounts, you can sometimes capture coding errors more easily. For instance I can immediately flag expenses which might be unusual or incorrectly coded because I set the income statement report to grab a range of accounts, and little did I know an expense went to an account we barely use and never would have predicted. Sometimes this is because an accounts payable clerk wasn't sure about a transaction, which leads to us questioning an unusual expense.

It's helpful that the General Ledger report in Intacct has account ranges as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excel pros advised.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Great web-based solution for non-profits

What do you like best about the product?
Sage Intacct is a user-friendly product with an established track record that has improved our financial processes and reporting. We've been able to close our month 4-5 days earlier than before. Our managers now have up to the minute access to their financial operations though drill-down capable customized dashboards. We've been able to integrate easily with other solutions to bring us to a new level of efficiency (budgeting/credit card expense reporting/donor management/AP Automation). The reporting available from SI made our prepration for our annual audit much more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say the product is very powerful and flexible which also brings a level of complexity at times.
The support process has been a learning curve as well. Now that we understand the process, however, I believe we receive a good level of support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to downsize our accounting staff from 4 to 3 after implementing Intacct along with other providers that have streamlined a number of our processes (credit card reconciliation, accounts payable and financial reporting). I have also seen some efficiency with our annual audit in being able to provide a read only auditor access log in for them to review their disbursement selections and other information they normally rely on us to provide.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
NA

Intacct provides us with better information, faster than our previous software

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to import multiple journal entries that had to be manually entered before.
What do you dislike about the product?
That once posted you cannot reclassify imported entries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now have the ability to track costs by department, location and contract or any combination of the three.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out, you'll like it!

    Financial Services

Very user friendly software

  • November 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, many ways to access the same function - makes it easy for all users to develop their own way of working with Sage Intacct. Customer Service is usually very helpful and responds to users' needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Many updates make it hard for some users to get used to new ways.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with general accounting tasks such as journal entries and financial reporting. I appreciate how easy it is to correct small errors such as incorrect dates, changing memos on entries that have already been posted. I appreciate the possibility to create my own reports and the general flexibility of reporting functions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend using this software for general accounting purposes. Probably the most user friendly accounting software I ever used. Customer Service is very helpful and for general questions you can always ask Intacct Community.

Report plans and units to pay for expenditures

  • November 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Sage Intacct has made so much easier for my company to communicate, so we could solve a problem we had with our past QuickBooks technology. The reports AR and AP reassessment calculate, at the press of a button, the unfulfilled FX gain or loss on AR & AP. Also, Sage Intacct allows you to select from standard rates or enter your own prices. You can even build totally personalized files, including templates, that are more compliant with the file types of our previous reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though the reporting is excellent, it's much more advanced than the one I used before, so it took me a long time to grasp to learn how to use it properly. Many key system functions are not operating properly, so I'm unable to cancel a contract without going through a long process. Also, Sage Intacct has not enough specific information about certain online videos as well as help centers on existing products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our Finance and accounting department currently uses Sage Intacct. It is mainly used to report plans and units to pay for expenditures. It has strengthened our ability to collect important information about our programs. Besides, it offers powerful reports, recognition of the income and excellent ordering controls.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sage Intacct is a well-suited tool for service-oriented businesses of all sizes. However, for a company with no capacity to validate such a comprehensive or personalized reporting feature, Sage Intacct is not inherently suitable.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

A solid accounting system, built as a platform for integrations

  • November 18, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that the system if fully cloud-based and has a strong marketplace that includes a number of integrated vendors. Intacct has realized that their native functions won't always be the right fit for every situation, so have made it easy to integrate with specialists who do certain things very well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Intacct has some quirks when displaying net asset (retained earnings) information. I wish the native reporting capabilities were more robust and easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Intacct is our core accounting system. It has given us great flexibility and, alongside integrations, helped us automate a number of processes.
