Sage intacct is the perfect next step after Quickbooks
What do you like best about the product?
I like how versatile the software is. You can have less features for a more basic platform, but you can also add so many feature to make the accounting software specific to you specific company needs. The reporting options are great and the learning platform is truly helpful in knowing how best to use the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like the customer services in lacking. I have an account manager and I don't really know what his/her purpose is. I'm never sure who to contact in an emergency. I do use the submit a claim feature but sometimes it is nice to have . Specific person to contact regarding the account that can help with random questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to have so much more control over our budgeting and forecasting. Being able to upoad our forecast the the software and then generate a report that compares actual to forecast has immensely helped with our planning.
Great Integration Platform
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of Intacct in my opinion is the developer API. It has allowed us to integrate with our other internal systems. This eliminates or simplifies lots of time consuming tasks. We use Intacct's modules for some things and have built our own for others. I really like that we can choose and are not locked into using their modules for everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The front end user interface can be a little cumbersome at times. However, the product has improved significantly since we purchased it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Intacct allows us to rapidly deliver high quality financial information for our many different legal entities easily. It has also allowed more of our employees self-serve access to financial info.
Best Cloud Based Accounting System
What do you like best about the product?
Sage Intacct is very easy to use. There is nothing you can do in the software that can't be undone. It has allowed us to do the accounting of multiple entities, all with different business models and operations. Anytime we start a new business we are able to create an entity and chart of accounts quickly and seamlessly. The customer service team is team is one of the best I have ever worked with, they are always quick to respond and help get to the bottom of any issue as quickly as possible. We have had very few issues, and any issue we do have does not prohibit us from completing our work, its usually just a minor inconvenience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Any issues I have had with the software is usually due to a third party plug-in. Intacct is always quick to help, even it if there is not an issue specifically related to their software. I do not have anything I dislike about Sage Intacct.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct has given us the ability to have a lean accounting staff, work from anywhere, and know that there are so many different ways you can use the solution. They partner with so many different software solutions, that you can have everything plug directly in to Intacct and it helps minimize the amount of manual work necessary to complete everyday tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sage Intacct does so much more than you can even imagine. There are ways to use the software innovatively, that is something that isn't necessarily marketed. If you are wondering if the software can do it, the best thing I recommend is to try it out or ask the question.
Mostly Positive - Way better than QuickBooks
What do you like best about the product?
There is ease going between companies and a simple way to understand what level you are recording entries in. There are several options for reporting that allow you to start with an out of the box and customize it to fit your needs. The best part is the importing of transactions. Those mortgages where all the information is the same but the principle and interest amounts change each month? No problem create a spreadsheet once and then just change the amounts each month. Your entry time is reduced significantly and your data is accurate all the time. We use this for utility bills, mortgages, amortization entries, and intercompany interest.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the platform reporting, it is difficult to discern how to get the information you want. I find I need to get a lot of information and then back off some of the fields because what I thought the titles meant and the information I got do not always mesh. it is frustrating to use when you are attempting to glean information in a specific format for a meeting or other reporting. There is a preview, but I would have liked to see some more guidance in the wizard, especially help in where the information will come from and which details I can get if I use that reporting format.
I also dislike that the payables ledger does not balance to the general ledger on an individual company level. If you have a multi-entity business and you have a bill for company A and that company has an intercompany relationship with Company B. You can pay the bill from company A on Company B's accounts or use the credit or whatever back and forth, however, when you balance at the end of the month, your overall (top level) AP ledger and GL ledger will balance but the individual companies will not show those outside payments for the month your balancing.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using QuickBooks for an 18 company business. Just the time savings in one chart of accounts, one vendor list and not having to sign out and into companies is a huge benefit. We've also been able to give greater detail in our reporting. We created our own paperless ap intake system utilizing the API feature Intacct offers and work with 2CP to accept online payments from our customers which automatically post to the customer's account. The online payment process is so seamless our new leases require our customers to use it to process their rent payments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Overall it is a good product with many ways to customize and expand. I think most businesses would benefit from it. The only drawback is the balancing of the individual entity ledgers to the general ledger. They dropped the ball on that one.
Excellent Cloud Based Accounting Software
What do you like best about the product?
The interface is easy to use and is pretty intuitive. Breaks out the difference processes from one another and give you the functionality to select what you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
As our company grow's we keep needing to add additional modules which can become costly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to streamline our accounting process from start to finish. We use Sage Intacct in conjunction with Salesforce in order to track the job from a bid to complete.
Intacct is logical, intuitive, and easy to pick up
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it makes so much accounting sense. You don't need to know how to work your way around the system, you just need to understand accounting and GAAP due to the accounting friendly UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is limited in its scalability and customization, but that's ok for our business.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is very little learning curve, I was able to pick it up without much special training. This allowed me to start doing my job faster.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely look into this - make sure it fits the scale of your business, and if it does, get it. Great cloud- based option that is super easy to use as compared to other, similarly sized cloud-based options. I wish I'd had time to learn more about customization options.
A Great GL Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Intacct provides a lot of flexibility with other software tools and has a nice UI. The system makes it easy to enter data quickly and accurately.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to get data to print on check stubs. That can be troublesome for things like tax returns.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Intacct offers multi-dimensional entries, which are handled easily by this system. It saves a great deal of time. Its reporting system is better than most out there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Intacct provides a robust solution that makes most accounting functions notably easier. With a user friendly user interface and a strong reporting tool it makes most of my work much easier to accomplish.
Flexible ERP
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, flexible software that can easily be integrated with other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to report across modules and lack of interactive budget module.

Budgeting & Reporting Tools are limited.

What do you like best about the product?
I would say what I enjoy most about Intacct is that you are able to create anything you can imagine and pretty much put into play. It is easy to manage and always changing. There are great releases that happen and allow you to continue to grow and evolve with the times.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to be able to send customer statements from the system with custom messaging, which is not available currently. Also would be great if you could see a transactions GL affect from the transactions itself without having to memorize each transaction setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Efficiency in time from invoicing customers to paying vendors. Close has significantly been reduced in time. Better reporting capabilities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want something that you can customize and not have to work around a system to get it to function for you then this is your product!
Ease of use a HUGE plus!
What do you like best about the product?
The layout is organized and easy to use. Intacct is always integrating new ideas and thinking of ways to make the software better. I also like how I can access the software from anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
Building reports take a while with lots of trial and error. Some features that would benefit your company might be an additional fee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Routine monthly, quarterly, yearly closing, Daily AR and AP transactions. GL transactions as needed.
