Good Accounting Software, but lacks support when issues arise. Fixed assets module is lacking.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to enter and pay bills, easy to enter and receive payments. The reporting is good not great. Using multi company is easy and sharing vendors is great. Integration is easy with the API's. Very intuitive system overall.
What do you dislike about the product?
Fixed asset module is lacking the ability to use different tax books. The reports are very limited. Support is an issue. When we have a support issue it usually can not be solved by the reseller and has to be escalated to sage and takes a few days to get an answer and the answer usually does not work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have multi entitles and it has made the process of managing those entities much easier than our old system. The ability to integrate with our maintenance system has reduced our accounting time.

What do you like best about the product?
The general ledger structure and core accounting functions (AR, AP, Cash Management) serve our company well. It's reporting and analysis of charts provide great insight for board meeting planning and departmental review for budget projections. It has excellent integration capabilities with other systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sage is a bit more expensive than other accounting software. User training is required because the software is a bit more configured that other account software. End users have to understand reporting building to be able to create custom report.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For administrative purposes, we needed real-time dashboards and reporting. Sage Inacct gives us the ability to instantly see our financial health which allows us to make prompt decisions that allow us to improve our cash flow.

What do you like best about the product?
really helpful the help page when you are a beginner user and also later when you have uncertainties.
What do you dislike about the product?
in the cash management tab, it does not allow you to edit the transfers between the bank accounts. that could be really useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
being able to use the templates for vendors/bills/invoices entries as well as recurring bills/invoices/JE is time saving

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to access more than one company
What do you dislike about the product?
Intacct is NOT the best ERP solution for retailers. Expected greater efficiencies upon implementation and we received that in some areas and in other areas...not even close. Too many work-arounds. As a retailer we have a formidable number of returns and exchanges. Intacct process to account for such is extremely cumbersome and illogical. Reporting is a D+ at best. Be prepared to create your own reports from scratch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to import specific vendor invoices and sales invoices from our practice management system vs the prior process, which was strictly manual.

Powerful but not intuitive

What do you like best about the product?
There's a lot about sage you can customize to work for your business. Entities, classes, items, any dimension you want to create. You can create very customized reports. The UI is somewhat customizable to show you the information you'd like to have at the ready all the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigation is difficult. There's not one screen you can see all vendor or all customer information on. Figuring out which module controls which setting is tough. The customized reports and balances have to checks to ensure all your P&L accounts are added or that your balance sheet balances. It's expensive and to really get the features you want for automation and efficiency, you have to pay for add-on modules.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps us separate lines of business and prepare reports for department budgeting.


    Public Relations and Communications

Sage Intacct is big and burdensome, which is difficult if you don't have a large Accounting team

What do you like best about the product?
Sage Intacct does provide access to real-time data across the organization, which has given our business added visibility into financials and reporting that we didn't previously have. It can give you a report on almost anything if you want, if you can build that report.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the data is all there, it takes a considerable amount of customization to set it up. I run a professional services company, and it took us a full 9 months to finish implementation, which never did get done correctly. We don't a work-in-progress report that works properly, we don't have automated invoicing templates, we don't have dashboards set up, and the list could go on. On top of that, there's essentially no customer service from Sage directly. They can't help troubleshoot any issues and offer no support. You must do everything internally or with an implementation consultant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enhanced reporting capabilities. We moved to Sage for both General Ledger and reporting, but we really are only seeing a benefit in some reporting capabilities. We now have more insight into project-based financials, which is nice, but I feel like we still could get a lot more out of the system.

I think there Intercompany has limitations wherein group have 100s of IC Codes and customer want to limit the GL codes

Its web based and have all modules required by us.
