DNS is the First line of Defence
What do you like best about the product?
Cisco Umbrella offers an intuitive and easy-to-use management platform. The policies are easy to build and construct, and deploying to on-prem and mobile users can be done in a matter of minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the web console is slow to display monitored and gathered data for reporting. There have been issues with using certain browsers in the past, it doesnt really like Safari to be honest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
DNS Security is the first line of defence against the ever-increasing threat landscape. It can be deployed to protect both in-office as well as mobile users and devices, therefore, ensuring the same level of protection is available regardless of location.

Solid DNS Filter Software
What do you like best about the product?
I did like the product when we were using it. They had a solid platform for managing DNS on my endpoints, and it was easy to manage my allow and deny lists. Support of multi-platforms was as good as we needed it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There wasn't any so great about Cisco Umbrella that made us stay with it. We purchased a new SOC package and Cisco Umbrella wasn't apart of the package. DNS Filter was and Cisco Umbrella wasn't anything spectacular enough for us to stick with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cisco Umbrella was filtering out end users' DNS requests on their devices providing another layer of security for our organization. It also restricts our end user's web access to certain parts of the internet.
The best solution for detection, blocking and high visibility of threats from the network.
What do you like best about the product?
Umbrella allows us to have a safe, versatile, high-performance, functional and innovative security system. It provides us with the necessary tools for the rapid detection and blocking of latest-generation threats or cyberattacks, which helps us always to have stable and secure networks for both our own and our clients.
I love that it provides a friendly interface, easy to interact with, organized and intuitive, so even without having extensive knowledge of this type of software, it is easy to use, and in case of doubts or any assistance, its support team is always present, and its Responses are quick and effective.
Although there is much other software that can provide similar functions, Cisco Umbrella differs in delivering solid and innovative protection since it is based on artificial intelligence; its security does not leave gaps against threats as it acts by detecting and blocking threats before they reach the system, this is how we can keep our endpoints free and clean from any hazards such as malware, trojans, botnets and more.
With Umbrella, we achieve endpoints free of threats, a stable network, non-malicious URLs, better control of our applications and even a more organized security administration without gaps and with high visibility.
Umbrella is ideal for closing gaps; you only need an exemplary configuration and apply effective security policies.

Cisco Umbrella has given us excellent protection, and their support team is active, efficient and very friendly; When in doubt, they have always solved us, so I have no criticism of this solution; I hope it will continue to innovate and that its integration can also be done with third-party software.

There are several disadvantages to using umbrella:
It is very expensive and more if you depend on multiple licenses.
The lack of platform customization is notorious.
Its proactive real-time protection sometimes interferes with legitimate traffic as it occasionally blocks sites or applications of the organization.
Being a cloud-focused platform, all of its functionality depends on network availability.

Powerful, simple
What do you like best about the product?
Interface is very easy and intuitive to navigate
What do you dislike about the product?
Personally, the virtual appliance can be finicky and have had to re-deploy it multiple times because it lost connection to the cloud
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Content filtering it's much faster the most firewall's built in content filtering. Pages load much quicker.
Cisco umbrella is very good proxy as it is easy to configure and add web and dns policy

Web gateway firewall provide protection from latest attack and it's integration with other product of Cisco like securex

Nothing much, a little improvement required in TAC assistance

It's on cloud managed by Cisco team hence only little req as we need to configure policy only

Cisco Umbrella Offers Excellent DNS/URL Filtering
What do you like best about the product?
The configuration of setting up policies is pretty straightforward. We have a blocklist that we can add OSINT URL's to that boost protection on top of what it already protects us from.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much I can say about what I don't like. The product is relatively inexpensive. Once it's set up, you can set it -and forget it if you want and still receive substantial protection from malicious sites.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cisco Umbrella filters all websites our users go to, so even if they accidentally click on a bad link in an email, Umbrella will block it before they ever go to the site.

What do you like best about the product?
Cisco Umbrella is definitely an easy to implement and manage tool. Licensing is only a couple of clicks to manage. Deployment to new workstations for clients is a quick install.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike or wish Cisco Umbrella would do is have more reporting or more information on where to find reporting. Managing endpoints is easy, but getting useful information requires digging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cisco Umbrella continues to make endpoint management quick and painless. I understand reporting is getting more robust, but would like to see more information on that.
A powerful DNS proxy easy to install
What do you like best about the product?
Easy installation process. Powerful DNS filtering, possibility to yse Firewalal in the cloud. Auto-redirection of gray domains to the smart proxy. No need to use PCAp files anymore.
What do you dislike about the product?
User must not be machine administrator. Users can still surf using Ip adresses. Gray domains redirection is not as transparent as possible.
