What do you like best about the product?
I love how user-friendly it is. It is so easy to configure campaigns and design them to exactly how you want. It allows really sophisticated and targeted recommendations which is incredibly useful particularly in our industry. We're expecting to see a big lift in the number of users returning to our website one we have set up the recommendations. It's also great how you get bi-weekly catch up calls with a dedicated CRM manager in addition to an online chat system so questions are always quickly answered. If the chat isn't able to help, Elizabeth always gets back before you know it!
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to initially implement due to the level of input that is needed from the data teams. I probably wouldn't recommend it to some organisations that are small unless they are willing to dedicate a significant proportion of their time to initially set up the blueshift recommendations and automation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved numerous problems with Blueshift. The first one being consistency within our branding, as everything is template-based, we're able to ensure everything is the same. We have also seen a real increase in the proportion of email opens, thanks to their tool which allows you to send at the optimised time for the individual. Our reporting has also become a lot more sophisticated too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider the benefits before you purchase, it brings ROI as soon as recommendations are set up. But make sure that you do set them up, we left it too long before we started using Blueshift to its full capacity.

What do you like best about the product?
Blueshift is a powerful tool that offers 1:1 personalized messaging to our users across multiple channels. The sophistication of the segment builder and recommendation schemes allows us to build out a ton of different user journeys.

I also enjoy working with Blueshift as their team is always responsive and works quickly to answer any questions I or my team might have.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is quite complex and has a relatively steep learning curve at the beginning. Across templates, campaign, segment builds and more, the tool isn't very intuitive. However, once you get the grasp of it, it's a very powerful tool.

Additionally, there is no control bucket in the campaign builder which doesn't allow you have a hold out group when running A/B tests. There are workarounds to address this though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There is currently a lack of analytics and data insight with this tool, but the team is currently building out something to address that and we are very excited for that additional component.

Otherwise Blueshift's support team has continuously helped us create unique recommendation schemes, which allowed us to further build out more messaging opportunities in the users' journeys.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The sophistication and capability the Blueshift offers is beyond some of their competitors.

What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility - There are multiple ways to trigger email campaigns. We are very limited in our use of the platform, but have plans to expand and use much more of the functionality. We limited ourselves to replicate what our clients were using in the past, but believe that they will see the benefits of using more of the Blueshift platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a need to retrieve and store certain information regarding the sending of emails, including the image of each email that was sent. All of the data points are not always readily available. Sometimes we need to make changes to our processes, external to Blueshift, to ensure we have all of the data that we need to meet our customer's needs. There are advantages and disadvantages of having an all-in-1 provider where users manage their email templates and campaigns, as well as sending the emails from that platform. Our new system uses best in class providers for various functions, but the downside to that is that all of the data is not centralized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CSG sends emails on behalf of our customers. The majority of those emails are transactional in nature. They are triggered by events on the CSG platform, Statement ready, password reset, bill payment acknowledgement... Since those are not marketing related we needed a way to trigger those emails based on the event occurring on our platform. A smaller percentage of our overall email volume is marketing related. The majority of those emails are sent based on criteria our clients maintain outside of Blueshift. The event to trigger those emails is then sent in a file and the users are already qualified.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The Blueshift team is continually striving to improve the platform. They have taken into consideration all feature enhancements that we have submitted and have a robust road map of new features.

What do you like best about the product?
The easy segmentation tool that allows a small team like ours to manage meaningful customer interactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The the lack of compatibility with other platforms. As a newer product, Blueshift lacks the native integrations with other platforms that make email marketing truly seamless. We look forward to the upcoming releases of integrations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The visibility into our user base has been very beneficial in creating targeted campaigns. Previous to using Blueshift, we have many systems that made it impossible to effectively organize our customers by shopping and browsing behavior.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think Blueshift is a great resource for a small team who owns many moving part of the business (marketing, insights, execution of digital campaigns).

What do you like best about the product?
With a robust feature set, there's a lot of flexibility and data available by default. Compared to a bigger ESP like SFMC, you have more control over what you can do, from setting up campaigns to segmentation, without needing to have a technical specialist. Support and client management are also really accessible and hands on, which is a welcome change from getting luck-of-the-draw technical support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the UX can be tricky, especially for our creative team or users who aren't in there every day.
No visualization workflows for automations, which can mean it's hard to keep track of where users are entering and exiting different flows, and also when explaining campaign series to other people in the team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you're direct to consumer but not in the ecomm world, you can't use off-the-shelf solutions and integrations as often. The flexibility to store and send in our customer data in the right way for our business, and being able to dig deep into send data, has been very helpful for our lean team.
We also use segments for other purposes, without needing to go to our analyst or use SQL to query our main DBs or run lists manually, which is helpful for our targeted ad campaigns.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you know what you're doing, and don't need to rely on off-the-shelf integrations, BlueShift will give you a wide ranges of options and flexibility to execute what you need.

What do you like best about the product?
BlueShift makes it very easy to feed data into the platform. After getting acclimated with the event tracking, we were able to easily integrate around 100 events from our booking process to track customers through the purchasing life cycle.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform is powerful, but there is definitely a learning curve when it comes to setting up Recommendations (the feature that allows you to customize content, on the fly to each user in your campaign).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With BlueShift we've been able to eliminate multiple vendors from our Clients usage. For instance, a customer might have one vendor for cart abandonment emails, one for marketing, and another for web advertising. With BlueShift our customers can make BlueShift the one vendor needed to automate nearly all of their marketing efforts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out their developer documentation site, it is robust. Understand the structure of your data before implementing BlueShift. It can be hard to start over if that is not thought out properly.

What do you like best about the product?
Always willing to answer questions and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
Their platform is easy to use and their Product team is always happy to hear suggestions from customers to improve the platform. We feel like we are on the same page for success. :)
What do you dislike about the product?
Support sometimes doesn't understand our problems/requests.
In the end, this is always solved, but sometimes it takes a lot of back and forth to explain our problem.

A Great ESP With A Bright Future

What do you like best about the product?
I've worked with Blueshift for almost 2 years. Through that time, they have consistently improved their platform and added new features such as in app notifications and integrations with Facebook and Google Ads.
What do you dislike about the product?
There hasn't been much to dislike, but there are a few areas when my needs are not fully met. What I would like to see in the future is a more in depth recommendation system as well as an algorithm or prediction system that helps predict subscription cancels based on user events.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main use for Blueshift is managing user accounts for our SVOD platform. We send push notifications, emails, and manage user account statuses through the platform.

What do you like best about the product?
With Blueshift, it is easy to create complex multichannel journeys from the very first days you start using it. Their segmentation function gives the user a lot of flexibility to build audiences based on behavioral data and many other data points. Their customer support is quick, and the whole team, from Data scientists to engineers has been really responsive to address any issue or customization needed from us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our campaigns target over 20 markets in 12 different languages. Blueshift did not have an out of box solution to make the set up of these campaigns scalable, so there is room for improvement in this area. I need to highlight though that they have worked very closely with us to address this and other challenges in a fast and efficient way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to engage with our customer at the right time, on the right channel, with the right message. Blueshift AI powered platform is crucial to achieve this ambition.

What do you like best about the product?
Blueshift has provided us with a robust data activation platform to track onsite user activity married with customer purchase activity allowing us to truly achieve 1:1 personalization.
