Great platform to help personalize your user journey
What do you like best about the product?
The capabilities of Blueshift are great as far as using predictive segment for our users. We are able to develop thoughtful approaches to our email & retention strategy that other email platforms never reached.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the user interface is a little difficult to manage and missing a few features that would be helpful for non-technical marketers. However, they take their customer feedback very seriously and are always updating us on the progress of our product requests!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blueshift has allowed us to develop thoughtful event-triggered campaigns based on our user site-activity.
Blueshift is a solid tool for technical marketers
What do you like best about the product?
I love that this tool enables most technical marketers to do some pretty advanced things.
I also love that the support and client services team are very responsive and get back you you pretty quickly.
They also always take our feedback and improve their product with our feedback! This is great that they do this and really shows that they care about what we think and to make it better for us every day.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it requires a little too technical knowledge to build complex things compared to other tools in the space.
Liquid language is a must-know for this tool and to be able to use dynamic content.
I would love more advanced training if possible.

Automation, job alerts, triggered emails. Email reporting, we do it all in Blueshift!
Enabling the marketers to be able to do things on their own. They are really empowered to be the best technical marketers that they can be.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your marketers are technical or have the opportunity to be technical on their own!
Great for Email Developers
What do you like best about the product?
If you're an email developer, you're gonna love Blueshift. Unlike some other ESP's and marketing automation platforms, Blueshift doesn't alter your markup (besides minifying the HTML) or add in any additional vendor specific HTML.
Blueshift also uses Shopify's Liquid templating language for adding light scripting capabilities and the ability to iterate over JSON objects.
Blueshift also uses Shopify's Liquid templating language for adding light scripting capabilities and the ability to iterate over JSON objects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I mostly like the campaign building features that Blueshift offers, but in that area of campaigns, they are missing features from other big platforms like Marketo and Eloqua, like the ability to easily change data points in a campaign; the ability to push a user to another campaign based on a campaign action; more complex branching options at the campaign level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On the email template level, we're solving the problem of personalization by leveraging data from JSON events, using Liquid.
Data Driven Email Personalization
What do you like best about the product?
We can integrate multiple product feeds into Blueshift and create personalized promotional, triggered, and retention marketing campaigns.
What do you dislike about the product?
Implementation could be tedious. To add, different vendor and client team members are in different time zones, so testing and providing timely feedback could be a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blueshift provided a platform for us to integrate different product feeds in our customization and personalization efforts. Our output has become more detailed since we combined and used varying data points for our promotional, triggered, and retention marketing campaigns.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If possible, try to get a dedicated implementations team near or in your time zone, as the time difference could become a challenge.
Good experience
What do you like best about the product?
On the technical side it has been easy to implement and any time we´ve had a technical challenge, you guys have always been ready and given quick replies
What do you dislike about the product?
Grasping the concept of campaigns, segments, recommendations and how it all connects takes some time to get through. It's a big concept and takes time to get into.
When thing that might need a better ux is how blocks are, you are never sure if you are in a block or you forget to select it and then create a new block.

From the technical side, this simplifies the communication to our customers and gives us all kinds of flexibility. I look forward to extend this even more, pushing data with webhooks to other systems even doing our own implementation. Next step for us as well is to do cross domain marketing, this will be really powerful and exciting
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a process implementing system like Blueshfit, getting up to speed and using its full potential will take months/year. But keeping discipline gets you there
Blueshift has been a fantasic technology and a great partner
What do you like best about the product?
The data structure is truly amazing and the speed is awesome. The technical staff is very talented and committed to excellence.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really see downsides to Blueshift. As part of the integration team they were professional and really helped us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had been using an internal messaging platform and being able to leverage Blueshift has increased our speed and has helped us better manager our customers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great system. Look at the data integrations they have a lot of features.
Too many clicks
What do you like best about the product?
I can send an email to a lot of people. I send out Reload emails to customers
What do you dislike about the product?
That I have to click so many links just to send emails
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't have an easy way to see who opened and who read the emails or confirmed - should be a faster way to do this then download another file just to see. More Real-time - be able to see emails opened or read.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make it user friendly and less clicks to get emails sent out
My experience has been mixed.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the selectivity process, segments. It's easy to filter out who you want to send to.
What do you dislike about the product?
You pretty much have to write HTML to create an email template. The previous solution we used had better tools to make an email without knowing any HTML.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I train the application to other people. The following are really easy to teach: segments and campaigns. The customer DB is really confusing for them. The whole idea is customer lists. It's really difficult to understand why to use them. I can't really think of a good reason. Also, creating templates could be easier.
Customer First
What do you like best about the product?
Blueshift really puts the customer needs first and they have an incredibly powerful platform, yet easy to use. Blueshift staff is there for you, open for out-of-the box solutions, powerful tool while the platform is nothing I've experienced before. Modern marketing and end-customer needs expectations being raised every day, Blueshift helps us to be relevant, interesting and personalized to our end-customers.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI could benefit from a face-lift and would be nice to have an implementation team based in London instead of San Fransisco (helps us European companies) but Blueshift has been really open-minded for early meetings for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1-1 customer journeys, recommendations, predictions, full automated orchestration in several channels
Powerful Tool, But Takes a While to Prove It
What do you like best about the product?
Blueshift is an incredibly dynamic email marketing tool.
Thankfully I'm well versed in HTML coding, so my templates look and function the way I want them. I could see someone getting frustrated with their Drag-and-drop Editor, but there are few (if any) platforms that have perfected that piece of software...My list of pros is as follows:
- Event tracking is in-depth and (sometimes) customizable depending on what you're trying to track
- Can add customer attributes dependent on source
- Segment builder is super fun to use, and it's very easy to create campaigns in the same winow
- Platform is crazy fast. We came from a system that look literally days to upload a list larger than 400k contacts, so it was refreshing to move around in Blueshift with little to no load time troubles.
- Tags...I know this is a weird one, but they have a filtering system where you can tag segments, templates, and campaigns under a tag filter. This makes things super easy to find, and the ability to add the tag is great. I'd suggest tackling this as a framework so you don't end up with 50 tags.
- Testing...the ease and dynamic-ness of testing in Blueshift is super fun. It takes some time learning how to create proper tests if you're getting a crazy with multiple sequences, but it is possible. I vet every segment, campaign, and test with my account rep to validate I'm doing it correctly, so I'd encourage others to do the same.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I don't like about Blueshift, but I have run into a few issues:
- If you don't have a dedicated Backend Engineer or Data Science team that can help construct the data within your catalog, it's going to be a tricky process. We have a custom backend, so setup can take a while.
- We had some data with our events get messed up in the revenue department...this could have easily been spotted when we passed the initial data over, but it was not caught by our account rep and we had inaccurate revenue numbers for the first week of being in Blueshift.
- The save feature can be spotty at times.
- Segments will take a while to understand, and building them confidently will be a decently long process. It takes time, but it's totally worth it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Blueshift has enabled our company to fully realize the impact of email and automation on our company's marketing efforts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Really evaluate if you have the team for this kind of build. It's a huge undertaking if you don't have a team of engineers.
