We have already registered a couple of APIs in Kong Community, and we are exposing those Kong APIs to our product. ITMS services will be consuming those APIs from Kong. We use the solution for load-balancing, caching, and rate-limiting APIs.

If Kong provides a 30-day license like other API gateways, we can promote the solution to more customers because they are willing to use it. We are unable to showcase the security and functional features during the trial period, which is an issue for us. We are facing issues with the solution's features like reports and traffic analysis.

I rate the solution a seven out of ten for stability.

Around 20 users are using the solution in our organization.

The solution's initial setup is very easy.
What other advice do I have?
With Kong Enterprise, we are facing challenges in getting the trial license, reports, and traffic analysis. We have one customer onboarded, but we need to demonstrate to them the features, and we need to migrate from IBM One Gateway to Kong.
The solution is deployed on the cloud.
Overall, I rate the solution a six out of ten.

It is very extensible for any customization to extend the capabilities. Many built-in plugins are helpful for many use cases without research. It is a tool any admin can handle quickly and is very much self explanatory.

Actionable insights / API insights / API inventory and reporting capabilities as today governance and security being paramount, any built-in options will help to make more capable..

It is a one-stop solution for businesses to expose an API to consumers and ensure performance on every aspect of traffic management.
A simple and yet powerful API Gateway solution
What do you like best about the product?
Kong API Gateway is very simple to use. Plenty of quality documentation and community forums online are available to help me learn. The product is constantly evolving and improving. The Kong team has been accommodating and they truly want their customers to succeed.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike about Kong. Occasionally we found features we needed that were not available at first. We raised feature requests which made to the backlog. Many of these requests were fulfilled in the upcoming releases.

Kong API Gateway allows APIs used across the organisation to be managed through a single platform. This platform promotes consistency and increases our security posture immensely.

Gateway service for all our microservice-based architecture. Runs on container and also support ingress controller requirement.

As I mostly use microservices (docker containers), so kong is a really good option as an API Gateway. it's support for docker is really good and easy. that is why I use cong for projects.

What do you like best about the product?
The first thing of Kong API that ilI like the Most is it's popularity among the World. Can be used in both Hybrid and Multi cloud, it's well optimised for Microservices. It supports Load Balancing of API that's what the most I like of it. We can do clustering, checking health, monitoring few more things. It can even run in Kubernetes. It's Open Source the most Important thing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The part that I don't like of Kong API gateway is we need more Integration with Kubernetes. Need more Medium post on Kong API gateways. Some times issue with connection it's get refused sometimes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most Important thing that Kong API gateway solving for me is that it have a large community that you can use to grow. It's open source making itself a large community. Scaling plays a main role as we need to it when traffic is high or when the network is congested Kong is the solution for this use it, if we are facing issue with scalling.
KONG API gateway came so handy and surprised us with tons of external plugins

Kong was the best open-source api gateway due to its simplicity. It's effortless to use and easy to integrate into your system. with multiple plugins you'll find yourself wanting to use to keep your APIs optimized

So far nothing, just wished the kong manager GUI was free

Providing the team with a central gateway that all the team can use. Saves time by not reinventing the wheel. Provides access and tracking with management using the plugins. Also helped in creating alerts when one of the APIs fail by using the grafana and Prometheus dashboard
