Works as expected
What do you like best about the product?
Customizable pages and dashboards are the zabbix best features for me, it helps to have everything I want in the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
The look and feel is not so good as the new products available on the market but it is good enough to what we were expecting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Part of our monitoring system uses zabbix in order to help us to keep track of all servers we have.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Zabbix is a good tool but there is some others that are really good and open source. In case you're ready to get your hands dirty I really recommend you to try more than one.

Zabbix
What do you like best about the product?
It has all the features you could possibly want to analyze your network
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is not the easiest to figure out when you first start using Zabbix. After a while it is fine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The issue for which I use Zabbix is that I need a program to be able to fully monitor and analyze all the aspects of the network.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good program and has all the features you could possibly want.
Zabbix - Great IT Monitoring Services
What do you like best about the product?
Our IT team uses the program to monitor and create visualize outputs of network data. It has been critial in monitoring network operations during the pandemic given that we have numerous employees in multiple offices, some of whom are physically in-office, and some of whom connect to our servers via the cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much to dislike about this program, though the fact that the program is unable to monitor Windows services directly (and requires a separate platform/tool) is somewhat annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this program to monitor network usage and statistics. We use this program to further monitor areas of the network that require maintenance or have issues pop up.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use if you are big enough to need it. You can monitor metrics across tens of thousands of devices, so smaller companies/users may not have a need for all of Zabbix' functionality.
Zabbix is difficult to use
What do you like best about the product?
Easy installation
Plugins with various systems

Graph navigation is difficult
Lack of dashboard
Lack of dashboard
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
business, database and system monitoring
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Follow Datadog or Circonus level monitoring solution
Capable, customizable open source monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
Zabbix is a customizable open source tool that adapts well to a wide variety of applications, allowing centralized monitoring of a complete infrastructure. It's easy to build custom plugins for applications that may not be part of the existing community. It's a very visual tool and useful for trending and visualizing your data.
It allows the creation of custom graphs, charts and alerts. Its extensibility means that we can use it as a single monitoring and alerting solution for nearly everything we do.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is a relatively steep learning curve to Zabbix. Some of the navigation and screens are not initially intuitive and take some getting used to.
As with any open source project, there are some situations where an enhancement requires you to get your hands dirty. The "vendor" (community) may not have it as a priority so you'll take it upon yourself to develop the change you want.

We use Zabbix to monitor our site infrastructure. This includes load balancers, web servers, databases, storage appliances, etc. We track application and database performance, and monitor throughput.
We use the custom graphing capabilities to produce informative charts. Its ability to show trending data going back for years is helpful for identifying events of interest. For example, we trend a number of response times for hardware and applications and visualize changes to identify the positive or negative impacts.
Zabbix is our centralized monitoring and escalation solution. We create multiple tiers for support personnel, build in escalation paths, and automatically rotate on call resources according to a pre-determined schedule.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If evaluating Zabbix, give it a thorough try. It can be difficult to wrap your hear around at first, but it's a lightweight solution that, quirks aside, can be a complete one as well.
Extended very strong product
What do you like best about the product?
In a production environment, you can write collection procedures, can be better for your service. Distributed cluster, or push data acquisition is a very good way. The presentation is very friendly and chart, highly integrated, eliminating a lot of their deployment time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mysql database data, is not very good, the amount of data acquisition for large, not very friendly, need to continuously optimized, in the actual use of the process also found a problem, drawing if more than 24 hours, found that draw the chart in fact is not very accurate, the I caused great distress, hope later versions can be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Acquisition of the health of our business data, let our staff direct light look at the data, you can see the running of the business, deployed personnel from the point of view, saving a lot of manpower resources, and we can take the initiative to identify problems, the problems before they occur can prevent and solve these problems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
yes
no titile
What do you like best about the product?
availability of options and community generated templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Web interface, ugly graphs and "screens". Once you need to show some graphs on TV (big screen) you'll need to use some other (custom built) software to get graphs and/or data from zabbix
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Availability and performance on platform, collecting and graphing some business metrics as well
Recommendations to others considering the product:
you can do everything with zabbix, but a ton of things you'll be able to do only with custom development.
Must-have

+ Quick start
+ Extensibility and customization

What do you dislike about the product?
- Lack of clustering and parallelization from the box
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring of a large network, the availability of equipment to small events as a change of state of the port or ospf status. Monitoring of servers, which is most important not only to observe, but also the ability to automatically respond to a specific event (eg execute a script). Large possibility of customization, for example information about the various events sent by email, SMS, to instant messengers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are not a big business - just install and try it, you can in a virtual machine, it is convenient and cool.
Good monitoring tool for small or medium sized systems
What do you like best about the product?
Number of features that work out of the box. It has a pretty good charting, predefined templates might solve a lot of cases.
Price. It's free, so you could use it everywhere and buy a support only if you really need it.
API. It allows to integrate zabbix with any other system.

What do you dislike about the product?
Performance with high number of items. We've experienced some when zabbix stuck to processing data from proxy zabbix instances to the main one. So we've had a 3 days delay data.
Old style web ui. It was updated in recent version, but it still looks more like web 1.0. For example if they replaces charts with a javascript solution, like highcharts or d3.js it will be really better.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've worked as performance testing engineer and zabbix is a good solution for storing performance metrics.
Triggers are very useful for checking that system is ready for testing.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Zabbix can solve a bunch of tasks, you can even a built a something like a intrusion detection system on top of it, but a main purpose of zabbix it is a system health monitoring.
Perfect monitoring system
What do you like best about the product?
1. Excellent flexibility and configurability of the system.
2. Cross-platform! The ability to monitor all available operating systems.
3. Good documentation. Zabbix is well documented but even if something could not find in the official documents, you can easily find it on the Internet.

Monitoring the work of other software systems we use in our projects. Guarantee their work or at least alert them in case of malfunctions.
For a very little time it is possible to deploy a full monitoring system which will solve almost all tasks.
