Do not spend thousands of dollars for your app testing! Use Browser Stack

  • February 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
BrowserStack is a great way to save money since you don’t need to buy actual devices for app testing. It allows you to test across a wide range of real devices virtually, which is both cost-effective and efficient.
Also, the ability to allocate licenses among team members within a company adds great flexibility. This means we can easily share resources and optimize costs across our development, testing and customer teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the platform is feature-rich, I found the documentation to be less than helpful. There were several instances where I struggled to find the answers I needed, which resulted in having to reach out to support multiple times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past, testing mobile apps on multiple devices could be costly and time-consuming. BrowserStack solves this by offering access to a broad selection of real devices for testing—without the need to purchase or maintain them.
By using BrowserStack, we can test our app on numerous devices, including the latest models, without having to invest in purchasing each one. This not only saves money but also increases test coverage, ensuring that the app performs well across different device types, screen sizes, and OS versions. The ability to access such a diverse set of devices remotely helps us improve the quality of our app without any additional hardware expenses.

Best tool with test monitoring

What do you like best about the product?
We get a lot of device to execute our test suite based on our choice and requirement.
In App Automate, we get a feature of self healing with the help of AI which helps flaky test to heal and re run by correcting the test script of UI Automation. This doesn't limited to any one framework but works with all frameworks like Selenium, Puppeteer etc
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have any dislike about BrowserStack. But there is chance of improvisation in the devtool in the App and Live feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is completly using its App Automate feature to execute Mobile App Automation test Suite. In BrowserStack we get a lot of feature which makes our testing easy and efficient in a similar cost from its competitor

What do you like best about the product?
Test Management and Obersevability comes complementary with other feature of Browserstack which helps us to Analysis the Automated Execution of test. Here we can bifurcate our test based on their failure reasons.
With the use of webhook, we can send real time report from Browserstack Observability to our other monitoring or messaging tools. Integrating these webhooks for alerts is very easy and takes few configs changes only.

While triggering actions with the help of webhooks its lacks some tool such as deployment using other CI/CD tools

We are automated our testing process with the help of Broserstack. We are using this to trigerring our test execution after every new deployment for helth check which completely eliminates the manual efforts here.

Been using it for 6 months and the expereince is pretty good

  • February 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using this for the past 6 months for testing as a SDET intern. I mainly use it for testing our apps on iOS since I own an Android. I haven't explored many options apart from BrowserStack but here are my likes about this software:

1. The UI is quite clean and easy to understand. I learned to use the software within 10 minutes and later on explored more features like changing device location, screen rotation, throttle network, etc. on my own.
2. A lot of integrations like App Center, Firebase, TestFlight, Play Store and App Store are available. You may also upload your own app builds and the supported formats are .ipa , .apk , .aab. My organisation uses .ipa and .apk on a daily basis but I have personally used only .ipa or installed an app by logging in through the App Store in BrowserStack.
3. I run a checklist for one week each month for the vital features in our apps. Since I need to test multiple apps, I install all at once from the App Store and do not have to start separate sessions for each which saves up a lot of my time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although most of my experience with BrowserStack has been exceptionally good, there are a few issues which I have faced and want them to improve on it:

1. I use their software quite frequently and I find the virtual devices getting stuck during testing. This happens about 1 in 10 times and I hope they are working on improving it.
2. Since a large chunk of my company's user base is using 32 bit android devices, which are obsolete, I have to depend on a testing software like BrowserStack to test 32 bit specific features on virtual Android devices. However, I could not find even a single 32 bit Android device on BrowserStack and hence I had to depend on other softwares. I really wish they add support for some 32 bit Android devices as well.
3. Some of the native shortcuts do not work and I hope they add them in the near future. For example, when I try to login to Junglee Rummy app on a virtual iOS device on BrowserStack, I frequently mistype and then I have to press delete repeatedly since BrowserStack does not yet support command + delete or control + delete and hence I am not able to delete the complete number at once. However, other shortcuts like pasting with command + V is supported so I am hoping that they will add the missing shortcuts as well, soon.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do not own an iOS device and searching/asking for a physical test device in my organisation is a tedious task. BrowserStack mitigates this issue by providing me with a variety of virtual iOS test devices which have literally all the features of a physical test device which I require for testing purposes.

Switching between high/low bandwidth network for different test scenarios is quite difficult but thanks to BrowserStack, it has been really easy because of their throttle network feature.
