Jamf Pro review

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simple UI and the ability to leverage pre-built policy and configuration items with inhouse custom versions is huge.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features seem to be lagging behind other MDM/RRM solutions, and some of the more popular feature requests seem to be missed by JAMF leadership.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Configuration Profil deployment, 0-touch onboarding, security and compliance monitoring, Patch management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This product does it all. If you have a need for a robust and powerful tool, this is for you!

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Central administration of Apple devices, makes my life so much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The MDM isn't perfect, but the binary usually makes up for it,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our biggest issue used to be device activation lock, we lost thousands before Jamf because we just couldn't get devices unlocked after users left our employ or just plain couldn't remember what AppleID they used.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When it comes down to it, ease of use, quality of support, community of users, and solid performance; There really is no other solution that matches Jamf Pro.

Best option for managing Macs

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The device setup is definitely what I like best. We are growing rapidly and have remote employees located around the country. It saves us a ton of time and effort when setting up new computers. It also saves us a ton of headaches if we ever need to ship a new computer to a remote user.
What do you dislike about the product?
Web interface feels fairly outdated and clunky. Not easy to find what you're looking for without checking documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-Device setup for new computers (or computers with macOS reinstalled)
-Making apps available through Self Service
-Forcing updates

Best Mac management Software

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JAMF Pro makes our management of iMac labs for students extremely easy. Be it software deployments, configuration profiles, or patch management.
What do you dislike about the product?
My main dislike about JAMF Pro is the lack of an easy/user friendly reporting function/system. I can easily look at usage reports per system one at a time, however it isn't terribly easy to compare multiple systems usage history.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use JAMF Pro to create a consistent user experience, ensuring that no matter where a user logins on campus they have the same software,

Best Apple device management tool

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is very intuitive. Though you need training, it has an "Applesque" feel so that it does not feel totally alien.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I do find I have to go into a management area that does not seem like the obvious location for that particular tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of Apple devices for our customers. Jamf Pro is like SCCM for Apple devices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get training, or sub out to a company with experience managing Apple devices.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the Dashboard feature. It gives me an overview/status of all the related policies and configurations in one place. It is a time saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
what i don't like is too much clicking in order to move forward to the next page but it is browser based application where there is nothing one can do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
the problems i am solving with Jamf Pro are that we have a central database for the devices. We can now easily pinpoint where the devices are. The benefits are that we can management them remotely and the ability to not needing to touch each device is a plus when it comes to pushing out software/updates/etc

Makes managing Apple Devices in an Enterpise a snap!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to easily distribute configuration profiles for settings and deploying software that is packaged internally as well as through Apple's Volume Purchase Program/Apple School manager. We are able to manage the full life cycle of the Apple devices and make appropriate decisions at machine replacement. We are able to deploy/redeploy systems quickly when thy join Jamf Pro. Self Service make it easy for our clients to install or update software, run scripts to fix problems, and update macOS operating systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though we've had tremendous leaps with patch management over the past few years, I would love to schedule patches to install inside patch management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro makes it easy to manage all Apple products in our enterprise. We are able to distribute

JAMF Pro has been the best management solution tool for my company. It made work so much easier.

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
That it built for Apple products. Its hard to find software that works almost 100% of the time for Apple products. But JAMF is the answer to that problem.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think more focus should be on the patch reporting and allowing us to customize our own reports uniquely based on our environment. This will allow us to deliver personal reports that might be needed for delay task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralize Management is big at my organization and having a tool that Control all our Apple Products but also be able to patch them mostly hassle free is a blessing within itself.

Best management software for Mac

  • October 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With Jamf Pro a lot of features come out of the box. It always supports new functions, which apple makes available for managing devices, from day one. It also has a lot of nice additional features like Patch Management, a nice in-house App Store and I love the option to extend inventory through Extension Attributes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not much. However I would like to see some more options for user interaction when it comes to Patch Management. Right now you can either force the updates (with the downside of data loss at the users end) or make it available at the in-house App Store (which some users will never use).
I need a feature which "bugs" the user to update, but at his time of choosing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use a very nice ThinProvisioning process with Jamf Pro. It works perfectly. It needs a lot of scripting and doesn't come out of the box, if you need to adapt Macs to your environment very specifically. However, you can do a lot with scripting and together with Jamf Pro, it all works together flawlessly.
Also deploying software or settings with Jamf Pro makes your sysadmin life so much easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Test it! But be aware, you only get everything out of it, if you can script or code!
