What do you like best about the product?
I have found Jamf Pro to be exceptional at letting me manage our fleet of macOS and iOS devices for our organization, especially during a time of remote learning for our students and staff. I was able to create and push out application installs with little to no effort so our school district would have the correct applications needed for distance learning.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initially, the learning curve is a little steep, but once you understand the methodology and process within JamfPro and establish good business practices, it's easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have addressed fleet management and remote application management. This helps me save time with configuration, deployment, inventory management, and security audits with our devices.

Gold Standard in MDM for both Apple macOS and iOS

  • September 30, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease in deploying devices to end users, deploying software, and managing devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Patch management needs some work, as it still isn't ready for implementation, at least in our environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Zero touch deployment to end users in a High Ed environment, managing iOS devices, and software distribution. With a cloud instance, the ability to deploy software to anyone anywhere they have a network connection is a huge benefit.

The best product for managing Apple devices!

  • September 30, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro provides a great workflow for accessing and managing any Apple device, all from within a single application.

We migrated to Jamf Cloud shortly before the pandemic hit, and it enabled us to provide uninterrupted service to all the Macs that went off-campus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Help support has been going downhill over the past few of years (after they were purchased by Vista).

Be prepared to pay a lot if you want any training or certifications (which requires said training)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Set-up of Apple devices has been greatly streamlined. The speed at which I can have a replacement computer out rarely makes it worth the time to troubleshoot problems (computers not working? here's a replacement, then we reformat the not working computer to use as the next replacement)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Select this product for the best experience when it comes to managing Apple devices

Awesome tool for Mac administrators.

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro allows us to keep our Mac classrooms and computer labs managed, providing a unified and secure user experience with minimal hands-on work from our techs. This is a huge time and workforce saver. It has also allowed us to efficiently deploy settings to stay in compliance with changing requirements from central IT.
What do you dislike about the product?
Automatically naming computers according to our department's naming conventions isn't something I've been able to figure out. That is something our techs are still doing manually. Also, patch management can be wonky at times. New definitions aren't always available quickly, and we still have to go out and get the updates, repackage them if they're not already a .pkg, then upload them to the repository.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to streamline the setup and deployment process for the department's Mac labs/classrooms and, as I mentioned before, reduced the hands-on support time required from our techs.

We've also been able to provide the department with valuable reports on computer usage and how our fleet is aging in order to better-inform our refresh processes.

Great Management System

What do you like best about the product?
It is a very user friendly interface and easy to maneuver within.
What do you dislike about the product?
Button placement is different on every page, but once you have worked through it enough, it's easy to adjust to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to manage and maintain all Macs, and we are able to prevent updates before being throughly vetted by our IT team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure to have an ABM system available for your initial training.

jamf | Pro 10.24

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro is an exceptional tool for viewing and managing Apple devices. The ability to search and find a device via serial number, asset, or by name/building, etc. makes user experience very low-stress. Most liked and best feature — the ability to create scripts in the jamf Pro environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Disliked (in 2019 and early 2020) — there were some issues when navigating in the mobileDevices tab in jamf Pro. The pull-down menu in between the 'search bar' and 'search button' would sometimes be an empty field, therefore, throwing an error or blank result. When attempting to make a search on a mobile device and leaving the pull-down menu unnoticed (as it was blank) caused some concerns. It was a bit of a nuisance for one or two colleagues, but I personally never grew very frustrated with the minor issue. I believe the issue has long been addressed because I now see "Mobile Devices" and "Mobile Device Apps" in the pull-down menu. jamf Pro still remains an exceptional tool for our Jamf Pro users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving: Organizing devices and ensuring that our static/smart (computer & mobile) groups are maintained and working efficiently.

Benefits: Being able to write scripts and eventually see them work in realtime. This encourages and motivates me to keep innovating for future issues/needs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If it's Apple device management, Jamf can provide tools and solutions for all of your needs.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy of use. Clean UI. Leader and Innovator.
What do you dislike about the product?
The requirement for 50 Device Minimum regardless of needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to see, dynamic inventory and overall basic device policy management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JAMF is the leader in the Apple MDM and has an incredible partnership with Apple to create a unmatched product.

Industry Standard for a Reason

  • September 30, 2020

What do you like best about the product?
I like how simplistic and unified it is. With Windows management, you need several systems (AD, SCCM, a software update system, etc.) to manage your endpoints. With Jamf, you only need Jamf. It does it all. Because it is unified, you only need to run a single command or click a single button to apply all the changes you made. You want to install software, map a printer, and deploy policy changes? Prep the changes in the admin console, and either push the changes out from there, or run a simple command on the endpoint itself. Jamf does the rest. And with Jamf Cloud, you can even install applications remotely. As an organization with several hundred Macs, iPads, and Apple TV's, I can tell you that it would be close to impossible to manage them without Jamf.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that Jamf seems to use group names instead of group ID's for linking groups to other groups. For instance, if you have a departmental group that is mapped to several other policies, if you change that departmental group name, it breaks the link to all the policies. I also do not like that you cannot nest groups in other groups. Those two simple things would make for a more Active Directory-like experience that most administrators are used to. It would also allow for better organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf allows us to manage devices from anywhere on earth with an internet connection. In today's world of remote work, administrators are no longer able to physically touch every device in their organization whenever they need to. With Jamf (specifically Jamf Cloud), you dont need to. You can make any configuration you want, map a printer, set policies, etc, and just push them out to your devices. When those devices check in with Jamf, the policies will be applied, and the administrator doenst have to worry about it. Less worry and more productivity are what Jamf brings to administrators.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There is really nothing to consider. Jamf Pro is the industry standard Mac management tool. If you were to ask Apple what to use, they will literally tell you to use Jamf.
