Best Management System for Apple devices

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We've been using Jamf in our organization for over a year now and I all can say is that I love how easy and intuitive everything is. Support is extraordinary and there are tons of resources where you can find the answers to your questions and Jamf Nation gives you a sense of community, where you can see and get ideas for your own projects, etc.

Jamf is like SCCM for Windows, except that it's much better. I would totally recommend it for anyone looking to manage any apple device.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, everything has been great. I really have no complaints about it. The only issues I've encountered have been with deploying apps that aren't very popular, which can get a little difficult at times, however, that isn't Jamf's fault.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security vulnerabilities, by being able to set a firmware password to all our devices, creating a local admin account, and thanks to Jamf Connect, if you don't have an azure account under our realm, you won't be able to sign in at all.

The deployment of our security base apps, and finally having control over our inventory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it, you won't find anything better out there.

The Best In The Game

What do you like best about the product?
JAMF is the gold standard of mobile device management platforms on the market. A lot of MDM's support various operating systems...but not very well. By focussing on the Apple platform, JAMF has set itself apart as the premier solution for organizations managing fleets of Macs and mobile devices. JAMF is very customizable. Whenever i'm asked by a client whether 'something is possible', 9 times out of 10 the answer is yes. And the answer is JAMF Pro. JAMF makes it really easy to set up individual policies on a department, building or user level. Their customer support is also top notch. I've always had a great experience when reaching out to their support team. They're quick and very responsive.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be great if JAMF implemented a screensharing feature to support users remotely.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JAMF makes it easy to push company approved apps, security protocols, updates and more. We've saved our clients from spending hours of time setting up new technology. Some of our clients have offices all around the world. JAMF makes it easy for us to ship a Mac anywhere in the world with the peace of mind that once that machine turns on, everything is automated and very easy for the end user to follow along.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do the research. Discuss solutions with JAMF directly. Partner with a consultant to help build and manage the solution for you.

JAMF has helped us take control of our Mac fleet, allowing for a smooth transition to WFH

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create custom groups and deploy specific profiles and programs automatically has made the new WFH standard much easier. With the ability to remotely enable VNC we were also able to minimize time in office preparing for the new work standard. Deploying our VPN and configuration settings via JAMF policy made the entire process easy and straight forward for end users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup and creation of packages and scripts to accomplish goals can be a bit daunting. Previous linux scripting experience is a huge help, and almost a must to accomplish some of the major feature in JAMF when it comes to reporting and altering settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before JAMF we were imaging Macs off USB sticks, that would be impossible with the newer T2 machines, we have also saved countless time implementing commonly used processes and features in the JAMF self-service portal. The ability to create smart and static groups has also made inventory and monitoring much easier and much quicker to gain insight on.

JAMF has been our go to management solution for several years

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JAMF continues to keep us updated with Apple changes to ensure we are ready for each OS update. Their management solution makes it possible for me ( yes, a 1 person team) to manage over 20,000 devices on top of other duties.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since shifting to cloud hosting we have not had any complaints. Only dislike is the inability to change the time out that haunts me due management when I am switching between screens and am met with the dreaded I have been logged out screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We recently shifted to Cloud management and are so grateful. With the Cover-19 shutdown I have not missed a beat, I am working from home and am able to support all of my end users as well as have the ability to allow enrollment and distribution of applications without requiring anyone to be on our home networks.

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf provides a level of detail for Mac and iOS MDM that is unmatched in the industry.
What do you dislike about the product?
They have features that they have historically neglected that has required the MacAdmin community to provide 3rd party solutions for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our Mac MDM needs are solved with Jamf, in a method that is easy.

Best Apple MDM

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about JAMF is the support and use forums. It has the best community out of all the MDM/EMMs I have used.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of 3PP software being available for updates. Wish I didn’t have to use another product like AutoPKG to download and upload software for distribution and packaging.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using JAMF to solve the issues with users not keeping their machine up to date. We realized how good it is to have the best support forums and support team to troubleshoot issues with JAMF.

Jamf Pro is the gold standard in Apple MDM solutions.

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to find solutions to questions and problems I have on Jamf Nation or with Jamf Support.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of much if anything that I dislike about using Jamf. I have used other popular MDM solutions, but I feel like Jamf has been the best with their availability of information in forums and through their support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to be able to manage the Macs and iPads in our environment. This allows us to add a layer of administration that we couldn't do before. We use Jamf Connect to have our users authenticate with a source where we can control access.

Easiest way to manage Macs in enterprise

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Jamf Pro to manage our couple of thousands Mac devices and we are really happy about it. The tool is very intuitive and easy to work with. We don't need a huge team of support engineers to maintain it as it's stable and has most of the features out of the box. On top of that Jamf Nation is a very friendly community where you can always find an answer to your queries without even contacting support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall we don't have any complaints about Jamf, just some features that might be missing but they are always implemented based on feature requests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In our environment, Jamf Pro is used for multiple reasons: device enrollment, package management and distribution, security and maintenance, reporting.

Makes Administering macOS So Easy!

  • August 20, 2020
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Configuration Profiles and the speed at which they deploy and update. We don't lock down a lot of things, but the ones we do need to be locked down, and this makes it completely possible.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Smart Group search criteria are OK, but it would be nice to have things like "greater than" or "less than" - maybe more commands like SQL has. I used to work with SCCM on Windows and it's able to get much more granular when searching.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently managing and enforcing policies on close to 3800 machines. This allows us to have a baseline configuration that makes troubleshooting and supporting devices so much easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Jamf Pro makes managing Macs and iOS devices in an enterprise environment super easy.
