Testing your Backend Endpoints for your API and Applications
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy postman makes it to test your backend APIs without having to develop a front-end UI to test everything. I also love that you can get the API outputs pre-formatted into great documentation to use internally.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Postman will only save upto 500 request in it's history, it makes it harder to go back and check on failed attempts to request an endpoint on an api.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Postman, I am able to test out the endpoints of our API for our application and ensure they are working properly before letting the front-end Engineers connect the front-end with the backend. I have found Postman to be the best application to have this done as we are able to easily mock GET, POST, PUT, & PATCH request within a local server. Having this done without deploying the API allows us to make quick edits to the API when needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to quickly test your API's with features that will blow away regular browsers, I highly recommend using Postman

What do you dislike about the product?
For unlimited shared request, documentation usage and for reporting and analytics, we need to pay.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman helps me to develop, design as well as test APIs and also it helps to manage entire API workflow, in one place.
API testing made easy with Postman
What do you like best about the product?
You don't really need to be a programmer or a Computer Science major to understand how to develop a test for an API with Postman in sharp contrast with doing that by a normal text editor or by CLI, it makes it approachable to understand each of the values and parameters in an API. If you know what you are doing it can cut your time trying to write tests and executing them in half.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not an issue with the program itself, since it fulfills the role really well, but the way how some people use it to test APIs, it isn't a magic wand, if a parameter isn't in the API then even if you set it on Postman and looks like a valid parameter it won't work since it is not a valid input even if the syntax looks ok.

Creating and testing APIs across different systems.

It is awesome but not a replacement for reading the API documentation

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is the best tool to work with HTTP and to write/integrate/connect/test APIs in general and just some AJAX calls as well. Interface is very easy and understandable. You can use variables and even write scripts. This tool can be also used for some king of automated testing suites building. When you login with your account, your whole calls history, collections and everything else is saved and is accessible from any device. When working with many of 3rd party APIs, you will find ready Postman collections that they provide for easier integration. Nowadays you cannot work as a Software Developer in Web or a Quality Assurance Engineer in Web without using this tool. If you don't know how to use it, then quickly start learning.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no disadvantages that I can thing about. Only thing is that you need to understand how HTTP is working, without such understanding you will be unable to use this tool. But this cannot be considered as a disadvantage, it is how it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman helps to solve development problems with AJAX calls and APIs. It is tool number one when you are integrating some 3rd party APIs as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need to learn HTTP basics before working with postman. Know authorization, headers, referrers, etc. Without this you will not be able to work with that tool.
If you are not using Postman but instead using some console tools like curl, then quickly switch to Postman, it has nice UI and a lot of good features.

Small learning curve because of its very intuitive UI.
Support for adding Collections for your product APIs. Using a Simple JSON file one can easily add a collection with the details of all the endpoints and use cases covered in the post organized way possible. This makes importing exporting of API endpoints very handy.
Very rich and organized UI to save credentials and automap the credentials to the collection in a single click.
Being a developer I really enjoy the 'code' feature which easily translates your API request into any currently used language. This is a boon to the developers, they no more need to write code from scratch to integrate it into their code. Postman is an open source tool to test any http/https based apis. Its Simple UI makes learning curve to use it very simple also it doesn't require any prior knowledge of any programming knowledge.

I feel there is a need for some open-source Postman collation repository for all opensource APIs available at a click from within the app. Because this is something all the developers will love to have. Webhook endpoints for all common opensource APIs will also be very appreciated.
It would be great if network packet sniffing and features that fiddler provides are also incorporated in fiddler. For this very problem, I always need to open both the apps at the same time.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hitting microservice endpoints using various a user frienly dropdown for all the http verbs which we know till and it keeps on adding new ones for example VIEW, PROPFIND,UNLOCK,LOCK,PURGE,COPY etc are some of the rare http verbs which i think are only integrated with this tool. And I also did the opposite of using code from the request format.
Quicker API testing with Postman
What do you like best about the product?
The best part is the integration with GitHub and that it can be used as a checkpoint to download any new tests that my team updated for the networks we manage with Meraki. My second favorite feature is that is really easy to see the Query Params and update them directly without having to edit the request directly and the settings apply as expected to the call.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest downside for me is that SOAP API calls are kind of unflexible compared to RESTful calls and while there is something expected by the design of the protocols it could be more flexible if a few extra options were present on the GUI, Postman is great as it is but it certainly has room to improve.

Testing endpoints and rolling updates with API calls.

Integrating and testing new releases is easier with standardized testing and Postman is really great at standardizing it.

What do you like best about the product?
Post man is used to test the api data. we have test all the apis, authentication of the api. we have pass the parameters which have used in api creation and fetch the data from data base.

it's secure to test the api's for developer. he is store the history of data in the application.

it is save the history of last api , when we needed in future we had get the data from previous request.

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is a very interesting software to create APIs and advanced code processes concerning the ordering of web pages with advanced specifications. It also helps me to show a good image in terms of deployment and security in programming areas. I like its support, answer quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have had a problem and that is that when working on mobile versions, the problem can be a bit lethal because it does not adapt to the interests of such devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the organization we use it to make known a very fast performance of APIs integrated or not integrated to marketing processes, security and any application that wants to be improved. It can be adapted to any type of client, as long as the benefits are easily interpreted by the internal code.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is ideal for web developers, simple and advanced programmers. It has a very understandable interface, Postman has been the most used software because we have created multiple APIs with automation systems that have been integrated as a development bonus.

What do you dislike about the product?
As a complete package, I don't think that there are any cons of this amazing software. But yeah sometimes it may take time on first time loading.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating and testing REST HTTP services for our newly developed web application, to be more specific we initiated with ngrok service, and all the routes can be tested easily with proper logging and debugging via looking at error log too if required.

I would like to highly recommend this software for developers/teams who are trying to build some API's or test them in an efficient and smooth way.
Postman - An awesome and feature rich tool for API testing, and Documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is very easy to use tool for web api testing. It is cross platform and it has tons of feature for api testing like creating a mock server, you can get well exceptions and exact statuscodes while testing. I can make collections for nulk testing at a time and for their well documentation. Scheme drafting , adding elements to api for better testing , light/dark theme, environment setup, multiple accounts sign in etc. I like that it is a must have and handy tool for api testing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it feels like a slow web app sometimes and becomes irresponsive. Adding new tabs makes it consume more memory and memory management is very poor here. When it starts for first time it is very slow afterwards it is ok. For slow machines it is very annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I develop my web api using php and laravel and test it by Postman. I test and document all my api by postman. It has better options of authorization, headers, body and form. I realize that having postman is a great tool for a web developer. It helps me save responses and generate classes and objects in typescript. By knowing how to use postman is a very good skill for a developer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just go for it. It is a very good tool for api testing and documentation. It has great features that you will not find in any other tools.
