Helps with API testing

What is our primary use case?

I use the tool to test the APIs that are developed.

What is most valuable?

The developers put the API in a common workspace which is a nice feature. It makes things much easier and faster to start testing.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see more integrations with other platforms.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with the product for five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My company has 100 users for the product.

How was the initial setup?

The tool's setup is straightforward and took less than an hour to complete.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate the product an eight out of ten. The product's user interface is better than others.

What do you like best about the product?
clear and easy steps to test any API
runner option provides the user to run API with Bulk records
Share your work with the team and get their feedback and input
nice GUI
What do you dislike about the product?
as such could not find anything which comes under dislike category, sometime feel that debug option should be clear and detailed to enable new users to understand the structure of postman working
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we have a SaaS solution taken from the outsourced vendor, so any change or enhancement is done thru APIs; Postman helping a lot to test those APIs and implement the changes in the solution

Decent for API Testing

  • May 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. Firstly, it has a basic and user-friendly interface; it takes very less time for a new user to get used to it.
2. It has a great API request manager, which can allow us to separate different types of requests in different groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. It has a limited feature for WebSocket requests.
2. Easy to get started but hard to master.
3. Recently, I faced an issue in the app where I get errors such as being unable to load the workspace in Windows 10 and the saved APIs not showing in the app.
4. Also, sometimes, the official website of Postman also shows server errors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. I mainly use this app for API development, API management and API testing.
2. Tasks such as displaying the response, Testing the API errors, like how the API is handling the errors.
3. API management, such as grouping different APIs and saving body and header data to use the same in the future.

Have been using since years. Yet to find a better alternative for this

  • May 11, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Have been using it since it was a small app.
The app was really good for quick rest endpoint testing.
Pros :
- Support for multiple REST methods
- Free to use (at least the basic usage which is sufficient for normal dev)
- Supports dark mode
- Easy and intuitive to use
- Support for collections, which help us add as test case in our code base
- Support for mock server.
- Supports multiple platforms (Linux, Mac, Windows)
What do you dislike about the product?
There are other simple and fast alternatives as browser extensions

- As it uses electon js, uses too many resources compared to a native app
- Mock server had some bugs when I tried to use it
-
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me test and save the API's that I use frequently.
Use a lot during the development of the API.
It has also helped up store the collection and run it during its development (Works as a kind of test case)

The rising of API era

  • May 10, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is helping me to test cases for API testing as per my requirements and helps to build secure and better quality API's, the token limit helps to know the actual procedure itself.
What do you dislike about the product?
As per Me, I guess there is no or very less error faced by me through postman but for new users, it should be more friendly as per the in-app tutorials-based facility. Because when I started first, I had to surf bout it through youtube.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is not that complicated software and is an amazing tool to build and test API requests for our site, it is helping me and my team to create automation of API as well . Plus the quality of support is just amazing in terms of customer support.
