Check small APIs for users

  • November 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman allows us to handle sophisticated web service management and specific payloads. It includes a good team communication feature too. If you use a trial version, it provides most compatibilities and support for future templates, headings, application bodies, etc. And if you use the paid edition, you can use it for security, so you can protect your user interface on the development API endpoint.
What do you dislike about the product?
Postman fails to incorporate third party for logging and tracking, something that would be very nice to have. Also, Postman accepts mobile application monitoring only web browsers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman is used by most developers of the IT department within our company. The environmental variability setup is a great time saver for us. I particularly like Postman to check small APIs for users, as it allows to evaluate APIs and internet services quickly and easily. It can be used for measuring endpoints positively or negatively, either for measuring their connectivity or for data transmission.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Postman is well suited for checking multiple APIs as it provides fast and broad handling capabilities for managing header and payloads correctly. It is best to use it as a product to reach the user experience. I would frankly recommend Postman for any development company working with any sort of API-based information and communication structure, although it is versatile enough for us to be used in less common situations, but simple enough to provide adjustments for the HTTP exchanges.

What do you dislike about the product?
Variables do not work with xml payload in the collection it though weird errors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Verifying the service I developed.
Mocking and generating data for upstream and downstream services.

Postman for API checking

  • November 15, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman offers mock databases for your API. It is very easy to manage and the results are quite productive. It makes very simple to write on other languages, as you can handle concise layouts of the integral webservice product life cycle. It enables everyone to quickly and effortlessly add or remove variables and display data in a well-formatted and readable way. It also helps you to save the details so you do not have to check again and again, by grouping demands and handling multiple requests. Postman offers different forms of payloads, such as JSON, and flexible HTTP headers and queries that are organized into lists, placed in databases or inserted into historical records.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Postman could have more stronger structured records. Also, POstman can be pretty expensive for most small companies. Also, in comparison to the web version, the Chrome extension version is not brilliant.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Postman in the IT department for commercial development and API checking. It offers an easy, highly interactive REST server, so we can check many API datasets and monitor the tests of applications and payloads. This is also used for outside third party, when documents are submitted.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Postman is a well suited tool for all those companies that want support in building dumb backends to their web service while focusing in the front end. Tests are simple to run and can be performed by anyone from everywhere.

Postman Rest client

  • November 14, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is the best API testing tool in the market for services based on SOAP and REST protocols. Excellent tool for developers making their life easy especially when they are to do unit testing
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not even a single feature to dislike till another product takes over this in the market. It is my bread and butter everyday for testing backed API solutions that I create
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instead of writing rest clients for doing integration testing , it has helped and made developers life easier

Postman Review

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Postman is very simple and easy to use, Sections for all HTTP components are neatly defined. It allows to test all different HTTP methods. Authorization section supports multiple auth types allowed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Postman covers most of the screen spaces, space where output gets displayed is very small especially when using laptops.
We cannot invoke multiple web services in parallel in Postman.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Postman to test REST End points. Postman collection helps to share end points used between developers.

An API Testing Tool with multiple environment

  • November 13, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity and verity of options for API call with beautified results.
The collection-sharing feature is good as well.
Providing a workspace to work with team
its multiple environment handling is just a lot more helpful than anything else
its test script is very helpful as based on the response we can derive variables and can be used in subsequent calls
What do you dislike about the product?
- Updates should be auto installable, in ubuntu if I want to update the latest version I need to download it manually and then install it.
- its little bit heavy for the system and eat much more memory
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- API development becomes faster and more fluent
- Testing with multiple environments is easy
- deriving variables from the response is just out of the box facility, those variables can be used in subsequent calls
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- go for it for the API Development
- it will help you share the collection among the developers and can be useful in long run
- also API can be documented in collection it self

Best tool for API Testing

  • November 13, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use while testing REST APIs. Customizable HTTP API requests and exporting them to multiple programming languages is super convenient while testing. The ability to save our work in workspace and organize them as collections help a lot in replaying or resuming an old testing session. Allows for collaboration between teams with the help of an invite option.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, it is a bit slow to start up at times and it can be frustrating when you are testing a crucial API endpoint. Also, the UI/UX! Scrolling sometimes hide the params in the request and it is not intuitive to realize it actually has those params you configured and impacts productivity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly, API testing. When you have different microservices running in multiple containers, postman comes in handy to configure the HTTP API endpoints for each of them differently and helps you switch between contexts quickly and efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Top quality API testing. Cant get any better than this!
