My go-to assistant for thoughtful writing
What do you like best about the product?
I like Grammarly's persistence on all my devices. My phone, tablet, browser, and even apps within Windows all have a quick help button to help me write the most innocuous text, from a quick review (like this one) to a refusal of a cold email. Even better, its genAI allows me to speed through emails faster than any of the alternatives. Sure, there are others, but Grammarly is the most helpful, complete and "human-like" in its text construction.
I've been a Premium user for the past four years and will continue to be one for the foreseeable future.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only real downside I have of using it (otherwise it's invisible, so can't be negative) is the lack of memory. I use it to write a lot about my company, and I wish I could just point to recurring topics and have it write about that, such as company mission, software features, etc. It would be awesome to store persistent information, and then simply mention them by their vague term ("write about our features") and have the AI fill in the rest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Small mistakes in my writing; Getting through the "blank paper" block; Speeding up writing inconsequential emails.
All this makes me more productive and more confident in the final product I'm usually sending. I know I don't have easily avoidable typos, my sentences and message are clear, and starting to write is much easier when Grammarly does that first draft for you. It may not be perfect, but the starting point is already there, and helps me to get through that initial hump.

Grammarly: The Always-On Writing Partner I Didn’t Know I Needed
What do you like best about the product?
I like Grammarly because it gives me peace of mind when writing anything from emails to formal reports. It’s like having an old-school editor watching your back in real time—fixing typos, flagging grammar slip-ups, and even helping rephrase things to sound more natural or professional. It doesn’t get in the way, but it’s there when you need it. I especially appreciate how it catches tone and clarity issues—something I didn’t realise was so important until I started using it regularly. It's made my day-to-day communication sharper and a lot more confident.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Grammarly, if I’m being honest and traditional about it, is that sometimes it overreaches. It can suggest changes that take the soul out of your writing—flattening voice or injecting a tone that feels too robotic or overly polished, especially if you're going for something conversational or more human.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Grammarly, I’d often re-read things three or four times to catch those sneaky little mistakes. Grammarly acts like a second set of eyes, picking up typos, run-ons, and misplaced commas so I don’t have to sweat the small stuff. Saves time and gives peace of mind.
Grammarly is fantastic!
What do you like best about the product?
It is super helpful to ensure that my typing is free from errors and that I am writing clearly and concisely. It doesn't require any extra effort on my behalf, and I find the tone check really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a little cost-prohibitive, I would not pay for it for personal use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ensures that I don't send silly errors or typos in emails, and ensures that my writing is concise and polished.
Amazing product. Free and premium
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about the free version is that they spell check for you. I personally love that if I need grammatical changes to make it sound formal, friendly, or just clearer the pro version is here to help me out. I use it everyday from sending emails to writing formal letters. It is an amazing tool to have!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside of grammar is that they do not offer a monthly subscription. It’s not terrible to pay for a full year of service but for some that price just may be out of reach. Additionally, I think that the price could be better. It was nice to get it half off for new customer but $144 may be a little too steep
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me to better understand grammatical errors that I use in everyday like. For example the Oxford comma.
Works great, let's me focus on content, and helps me proof read text before sending it off
What do you like best about the product?
Helps me reread what I have written, and fix annoying errors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Shared documents that are pre-written will usually have a lot of read that I don't want to change
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ensuring that my text is understandable with correct tone of voice before I send it off
Great for writing confidently
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to learn and improve my writing
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the suggestions are not helpful. “Don’t know what ‘this’ is referring to”… but doesn't suggest how to fix it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Catching errors that I may miss on my own.
GREAT TOOL TO WRITE BETTER
What do you like best about the product?
Since English is my second language, it can be challenging for me to write as a professional, and Grammarly helps me improve my writing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it does not show how I wrote a sentence wrong, but other than that, it is helpful.

More than just spellchecker but beware of shady renewal practices
What do you like best about the product?
As a non-native English speaker, I find the most helpful aspect of Grammarly to be its real-time suggestions for correcting grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It's invaluable for catching the kinds of errors that are easy to make when English isn't your first language, making my writing significantly more accurate and natural-sounding. The upsides I've personally experienced are that my written communication is much clearer and more professional, Grammarly assists in rephrasing sentences to improve flow and clarity in ways I might not think of myself, and understanding the suggested corrections is genuinely helping me learn and improve my English writing skills over time. Using Grammarly simply gives me much greater confidence when writing in English.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've found that the less helpful aspects and downsides of Grammarly include its occasional tendency to repeat suggestions I've already dismissed, and it's frustrating that there's no clear way to permanently dismiss a wrong suggestion or report it as incorrect. Beyond the tool itself, I've also encountered issues with their renewal practices, which feel a bit shady. They don't send renewal notifications, so you have to actively track your subscription date. I've learned that to get the best price, it seems you need to cancel and wait for a sale. Otherwise, you could end up paying significantly more than you did initially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a software engineer, the business problems Grammarly helps me solve primarily revolve around clear and effective written communication within a professional context. This includes ensuring accuracy and professionalism in emails, documentation, technical specifications, and any other written materials. Grammarly helps me reduce errors that could lead to misunderstandings or misinterpretations, which is crucial when collaborating with colleagues, clients, or stakeholders. It also aids in presenting my ideas and technical information in a clear and concise manner, saving time and avoiding potential rework due to unclear communication. Ultimately, by improving the quality of my written output, Grammarly helps me maintain a professional image and contribute to more efficient and effective communication within the business environment.
