Grammarly is a game changer
What do you like best about the product?
I have used Grammarly for the last 2-3 years. It has significantly changed my professional writing. It has only gotten better over time as features have been enhanced and have grown smarter. Honestly, using it is basically a class in writing clearly and succinctly. I didn't realize many of the issues with my writing until I began using it. The analytics provided have shown me targeted areas to focus on, and I am now making fewer of the "mistakes" I had been previously. I also like the option to go into settings and change my tone depending on the audience. It also integrates seamlessly with my email and word processing apps. I find its suggestions much more helpful than the built-in review functions of most other software.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of significant downsides. There have been many improvements over a short period of time, and I suspect this will continue. I believe the Pro pricing is a bit high, but I understand its need, and the value is increasing as more features are added. I do wish there were more flexibility for it to learn my individual style when writing specific things. For example, when completing certain tasks, I commonly get the "Want to sound more confident?" suggestion. However, the nature of that particular work requires that style. There is likely a solution to this in the settings I have not yet identified. However, this is just an example of it working as intended, so it is not a significant flaw.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do a lot of writing in a short period of time. Typos are a natural consequence. Grammarly catches nearly all of them. I have now gotten to the point where I feel comfortable accepting its suggestions before fully reading them. They typically are significant improvements. I do also like many of its newer features that suggest full rewrites for clarity. This has been very useful.

Grammarly, Useful for basic needs
What do you like best about the product?
I like Grammarly for basic needs, for helping out with catching spelling errors and basic grammar errors. I use it for daily email, professional writing, going over first drafts, and other basic writing needs. It is not perfect, but it is better than many other products out there. I like that it will catch most spelling errors on the first pass, even some of the errors of word use. It will see the grammatical usage. It is not perfect in any way, shape, or form, but it does help, and it has been getting better every year. I like how simple it is to use, and it does give examples of why it is offering the suggestions. Often they are OK, they want to get rid of words that are useful for creative writing but not for professional writing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Grammarly does like to give some really off-the-wall suggestions when writing creatively. It does not like some creative writing choices and likes to get rid of a lot of the word choice to make things concise when you are trying to describe the character or world, and Grammarly wants to shorten things. Also, words that don't exist, hard to sometimes teach Grammarly, strange, new words, especially for creative fiction. Also, if things are "wandering," Grammarly wants to bring them back quickly, even if it is for the plot of a novel. I have had to be like, "No, Grammarly, stop that." I have found myself talking to Grammarly more than I want to admit. But for more Professional settings, it seems to be extremely useful to keep everything clear, concise, and directly to the point.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proofreading and spell checking is what I use Grammarly more often than not and it has been exceptional in. I really like to be able to use Grammarly for this before sending a novel or short story to an editor to save time and effort.
