What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use. It gives great, immediate tips, and it's easy to implement them. I just have their add-on installed, and it's really easy to use daily.
I also enjoy their weekly summaries that give me indications about my ton.
What do you dislike about the product?
It sometimes repeats suggestions multiple times even after I dismiss them
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making sure I write things right when I'm writing in EN which isn't my main language, while communicating with people who are native.

Probably the leader in "writing assistants", but...

What do you like best about the product?
Implementation is easy - just install it into your web browser, like Chrome.
Great for personal or business use, for daily use.
Basic features can be used even for free.
What do you dislike about the product?
Grammarly often suggests or generates some text you decide to use, but then it marks some part of that text that it generated as incorrect, which is weird.
Just the English language is supported.
There is no support for Linux as a standalone app.
Expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In case English is not your primary language, then Grammarly can provide a great job and help you with writing. This increases productivity.

Grammarly gives me a professional edge

What do you like best about the product?
While I possess many skills that make me a productive employee, I have never been a strong writer. Grammarly helps me with copywriting during a normal workday. It gives me the confidence to know that the emails and documents I work on are the best possible because of Grammarly's suggestions.

Grammarly is very easy to install and customize, and it integrates seamlessly with several apps I use regularly. There's not a workday that goes by where I do not use Grammarly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've used Grammarly for years, and there's nothing I can think of that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I feel by reviewing and accepting most of Grammarly's suggestions, my final result whether it be emails I send out or documents I work, are the best they can be.

What do you like best about the product?
- It corrects spelling and punctuation
- It suggests improvement ideas
- Easy to use, you can add a browser plugin and then it checks everything you're working on online. That works perfectly for me as I use a web-hosted editor most of the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Sometimes it's lagging and it takes a while before it comes up with suggestions. That's actually the biggest problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- It proofreads my writing
- It suggest alternative options taking into account my voice and tone guidelines

What do you like best about the product?
The most importantly it corrects the sentenses. It helps be to have a good report.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Grammarly does well with syntax, it sometimes lacks deeper understanding of context, which can lead to less-than-ideal word choice suggestions or misinterpretation of meaning, especially with complex or technical content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps for polished, professional English writing.

I have found Grammarly very useful in my day to day activities

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the revision of longer blocks of text, in emails. I like the rewording to make the content more succinct and to the point, and the removal of unnecessary words. It is easy to use. I haven't had to use any customer support yet.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think sometimes the use of commas and ; can be too much, and doesn't always enhance the sentence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping to solve sentences that do not roll off the tongue and possibly ramble or duplicate. It helps to pull up any spelling errors.

My Go-To Writing Helper That’s There for Every Draft

  • November 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a Marketing Manager, I need to churn out a lot of copy for everything from blog posts to social media blurbs.

One of the things I love most about Grammarly is how easy it is to use. It launches right when I start up my laptop, so it’s ready to go whenever I am. Whether I’m drafting in a web browser or writing directly in a document, it’s seamless and always there when I need it.

Grammarly is like my Marketing Swiss knife. I picture myself donning a red cape, gaining an extra set of eyes to review copy. I catch the little details I might otherwise overlook, especially when I’m juggling multiple campaigns, as I currently am for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

I really appreciate how Grammarly goes beyond grammar and can also help me with tone and clarity. It’s been a game-changer for making me feel more confident with my writing, whether it’s something more casual like an email call-to-action piece or a more polished piece for our company’s website. It has become so much so that I end up using it every day.

I hope this helps others who are unsure whether it should also be their go-to tool, so I’m more than happy to leave one.

I honestly appreciate how Grammarly takes such a lot off my daily work. :-)
What do you dislike about the product?
Admittedly, it can be addictive and sometimes, as with any other tool, I couldn't help but worry if I would be able to work without it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a Marketing Manager, I’m often juggling blog posts, email copy, website updates, internal reports and emails. Grammarly catches all those small errors I might miss when I’m in a rush, like typos or misplaced commas, but it goes beyond that. It helps me adjust the tone and clarity of my writing so that each piece resonates with the right audience.

It has its merits, but it gets a few things wrong

What do you like best about the product?
It catches a few of the errors that my eagle eye misses when I'm feeling tired.
What do you dislike about the product?
It sometimes suggests incorrect corrections -- the most glaring example was 'fishes'' (a legitimate, possessive plural form of 'fish' that makes it clear I'm talking about the collective fishes' experience). Despite having Australian English settings on, a few American English corrections or suggestions do slip through, too -- for example, I was pinged for 'earnt' (the UK/Aussie English form of 'earned') and 'customisability'. (Oh, wow -- it's actually pinging me right now for 'customisability'. I actually contacted Grammarly about this, and they said to alter the dialect settings. Clearly, this didn't resolve that issue.)

I'm also not a fan of the blue underlined suggestions for clarity. Sometimes, these suck the humanity out of what I was writing. Seeing the underline -- even though it's just a suggestion -- always makes me question my choices, which isn't a nice feeling. When Grammarly makes these suggestions, they also always use American English (e.g. saying 'customize' instead of 'customise'). It's frustrating that Australian English mode doesn't apply to this feature.

One final thing that frustrates me is Grammarly often tells me to add 'the', even when it isn't strictly necessary. E.g.: "to amplify force applied to the brake pedal" was corrected to "to amplify the force applied to the brake pedal". I always add 'the' in because a) I don't like seeing the red line there, and b) seeing that correction makes me second-guess myself. Do you think it should be 'to amplify force' or 'to amplify the force'? Was I wrong for not including 'the' in this initially? See? Now I'm spiralling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Again, it's catching a few errors that I may have missed, either because I was tired or too close to the piece I was working on.
