Good software/audit provider for SOC2
What do you like best about the product?
Their team is very helpful and supportive throughout the process

It was difficult to onboard a new SOC2 provider and seemed a little more lift on our side than should have been

They have been able to assist our customer in getting our SOC2, also the customer service is excellent.

The auditing process can take sometime but it's given due to the nature of this business.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Thoropass is how it helps us with automation and keeping an eye on our controls. It's really easy to set up and keep track of lots of stuff, which can be really tough without a tool like this. The Customer Success team is also always there to help out and answer questions fast. The alerts and steps for fixing things quickly let me jump in, solve a problem, and move on easily. When we were running the certification process, I could check daily for updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
They don't have a support live chat, we just heard about some useful integrations later in the certification process, the filters in the vendor management are quite limited, and it's sometimes tricky to locate specific files because everything, from screenshots to PDFs to tests to templates, all ends up in the "documents" section.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Obtain a compliance certification, manage our vendors and systems in one place and do pentests.
Solid platform for security compliance with cloud integration and handbooks to make the journey easy
What do you like best about the product?
The step-by-step control handbooks ensure that you have all the controls in place which are necessary for your selected security compliance framework, including SOC 2, ISO 27001, or PCI-DSS. Assistance in obtaining penetration testing, third party auditors and general knowledge of security compliance frameworks is top-notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge is turnover with customer support staff who may vary in their specific knowledge of the applicable framework and the tools which can satisfy a specific control. They come up to speed quickly, but the initial transition between support staff can be rocky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thoropass makes keeping track of our SOC 2 control frameworks easier and reduces the time spent on developing new controls which don't meet the requirements.
Top notch customer service
What do you like best about the product?
Joe Miller as my CSM over the last few months has been fantastic. Coming into this as a complete Infosec newbie I really had very little idea what I was doing. Joe has been incredibly supportive throughout the process, never condescending or expecting me to have a certain level of understanding. He was always happy to offer additional support, understanding of timelines and priority changes and generally just a great point of contact. His responses to messages on the platform and on email were always prompt and very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Thoropass system sometimes didn't update the progress banner which - when I was getting towards the end - was frustrating as I couldnt see overall progress!

The platform is really well done and taking care of all the aspects to get our certifications (we passed SOC2 & ISO27001)

Sometimes I was a bit lost but support is amazing and helped very quickly to find what I was looking for

Thoropass helped us to get our certifications in a short time and provided all the help we needed to do that without prior knowledge

What do you like best about the product?
The support and the fact that the audit is included in the process is great advantage of the solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain aspects of the platform are not great. For instance, I have never been able to batch import employees; I had to add them one by one, even after reaching out to technical support multiple times. Additionally, there is no option to limit the signing of certain documents to specific employees or employee categories. To achieve something similar, one must navigate through the training module, which is neither intuitive nor practical.
Moreover, the process of conducting checks and subsequently having to revisit them during audits to provide all the necessary evidence feels redundant. It's as if we have to redo all 70 checkpoints. Combining these tasks into a single phase would be more advantageous.

What do you like best about the product?
The amount of help on getting IT connected was nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
The templates are primarilyu fit for only SOC 2 compliance, anything that is custom SOC 1 can cause some major issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about the product?
Their portal where I can find all the relevant documents and certification and can ask questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial costing and renewal costing is slightly high.

Get and maintain Type 1 and Type 2 certification.
Really great product and people that make a frustrating process much simpler.
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part of Thoropass is the automation and monitoring of our controls. The simplicity with which we can implement and monitor the numerous things is amazing considering how difficult this can be to be on top of without a tool like this. Being able to integrate with AWS and check Thoropass daily saved so much time compared to digging through the console. The Customer Success folks were also always on hand and quick to respond to any questions. The alert notifcation and remediation steps allows me to frequently pop in, solve something quick, and get out.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is a little difficult to find certain files that have been added due to the fact that everything from screenshots to pdfs to tests to templates all populate into the 'documents' section. It can be hard to really sink down into what I'm really looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The SOC2 process (type 1 and type 2) is so confusing and nebulous that we didn't really know where to start. We are a small startup that doesn't have a security and compliance resource, so we were trying to just figure it out. With Thoropass we were able to rely on them to help us figure out the steps and necessary actions without us needing to really dive deep into all the nitty gritty details.
