Compliance help that saves time and money
What do you like best about the product?
The most beneficial aspects of Laika are 1) their customer support team assigned to you, 2) ease of setup, and 3) best practice templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Areas that could use some improvement include integration with AWS GovCloud, which I believe is on their product roadmap and easier reference to policies and procedures already stored in Laika rather than uploading them again as proof of compliance.,
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a startup in healthcare which is a regulated industry. Compliance is important to us for various reasons, both strategic and tactical. Laika reduces the time and effort needed to establish and prove compliance and confirm or adopt best practices when applicable.
The Laika team is extremely responsive and knowledgeable.
What do you like best about the product?
The outline of their portal/dashboards when completing SOC audits.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features were not as fully-baked as we expected them to be. One example includes the due diligence tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is demystifying the sometimes opaque world of infosec. They helped us organize our requirements and more importantly, level up our infosec and compliance program.

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is straightforward to use, the descriptions help clarify what's needed, and the support from the experts at Laika was invaluable in getting us to where we needed to be. They are very personable, patient and highly knowledgeable. Their guidance was invaluable. It's an excellent playbook and framework to guide you to where you need to be. It's then a smooth transition into the audit.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are a small company, so some of the pre-provided policies were slightly too much for our business, but this was easy enough to adapt. We also need to adjust for location UK instead of the US but again an easy fix.
I preferred the playbook style to the audit module but once you get started it becomes easier to navigate.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We could see the benefit of having SOC compliance for our business but didn't know where to start; the Laika platform provides a clear playbook to follow to ensure you get this right ahead of an audit. It's also an excellent framework for improving the operational effectiveness of the business.
Laika eases the path to SOC2 certification
What do you like best about the product?
Laika has all the details and features built into its product to help a business with its SOC2 compliance journey. An easy-to-navigate user interface makes it easy to see how far you have progressed and what controls still need to be documented and implemented.
What do you dislike about the product?
There really were not many downsides. Some more user documentation on how the many different features work would improve the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When deciding to achieve certification such as SOC2, it can seem to be an overwhelming amount of work that needs to be done. Laika has addressed this with their platform guiding all required documentation for each control. The roadmap helps businesses assign owners for controls and map out the work that needs to be done.
Laika provided great support through our journey and was responsive to us throughout.

Laika's customer support was impeccable. They were on the phone with us problem-solving and going above and beyond.

The user experience needs some love to be more intuitive and user-friendly.

As a startup working with banks, getting our compliance done with Laika was a top priority.

What do you like best about the product?
I love Laika's dashboard and easy access to the tools, templates, and things I need to complete the necessary steps to achieve certification. I also really appreciate having a designated customer support person who is available for recurring meetings and one-off questions. Laika has made our goals to achieve certifications as easy as possible
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike about Laika. It's a very intuitive platform full of great resources. The only thing that would make it better would be to have an integrated pen testing dashboard as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pursuing certifications can be a daunting and overwhelming process. Laika has streamlined it, provides a dashboard to organize everything, and all of this makes it really easy to work on items when time allows.
Great Experience for SOC2 Certification
What do you like best about the product?
Thoropass has managed to make the process of SOC2 certification as painless as possible. The app is intuitive and our team was able to jump in and get started right away. The Thoropass team has been patient and communicative...thankful for all of their help.
What do you dislike about the product?
I truly have no complaints at this point. Except for having to obtain our SOC2 certification:)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They are helping us obtain SOC2 type 1 and type 2 certification.
Well organized system and professional people
What do you like best about the product?
Laika interaction has been highly positive for us. They have a system that is easy to use and personnel are highly professional and thorough.

The interaction has been good so far. We are still in the midst of our relationship.

We are getting a SOC2 certification and Laika is helping us with the entire process.

What do you like best about the product?
Working with the Laika team has been overall a great experience. We have a dedicated team that provides us with resources and regular check-ins to ensure that we have adequate support for maintaining SOC 2 compliance. Laika gives us confidence that we are on track, and doing things the right way. They are also continuously improving their platform and features - we love the DDQ Library.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Playbooks can be a bit confusing. Some features that we've been wanting are taking time to build out. They could've communicated more ahead of time the differences between a Type I and Type II audit experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laika is solving the human resource problem of maintaining SOC 2 compliance. By using them as a vendor, it saves our company human hours in SOC 2 preparedness, and gets newcomers to the SOC 2 framework up-to-speed quickly. Integrations with our company's existing tools such as Slack help with our project management. Laika is also a useful repository of our company's sensitive information. We operate in a highly regulated industry. Having a repository to organize our DDQ questionnaires and answers is an asset.

After two years of working with Thoropass, it's evident the team excels, ensuring to take the time to understand your business so that you have the best guidance possible on the steps needed to build secure software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some back and forth that does require a strong tech lead but that could just be a factor of the complexity of the industry and the work that needs to be done
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to be SOC2 compliant in order to close larger deals enterprise deals. Thoropass provides the tools to create the policies and procedures to abide by the security standards from the SEC. We also love their diligence folder/data room feature.
