Simple to use email encryption for education

What do you like best about the product?
Integration with Google dashboard to integrate licensed users by group. This coupled with auto-enroll and activation helps a great deal as well. Then the user can watch a quick simple video and see how to use Virtru and its features. The encryption itself is simple to use and offers a great set of enterprise features.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost and we have found that some Chrome extensions that cause issues with Virtru not staying activated for those users that need those extensions. But with the help of Virtru support we did at least identify what extensions were cause this issue and then we were able to notify those users of why and what was happening.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are satisfying HIPPA, COPPA, and PHI among any other legal concerns for sending and receiving sensitive information from our oganization. We also have a complete audit trail of who sent what to whom.

What do you like best about the product?
The support has been amazing. As my company has grown, the needs of using Virtru had changed. After speaking with both support and my rep, Virtru was able to assist and adapt with our growth

Nothing so far. It's been a pretty stable and straightforward application

HIPPA and PPI information, to name a few. Emailing sensitive information was an issue before Virtru

I dislike that you can only encrypt 45 attachments at a time

Do not put more than 45 attachments at a time as it will not encrypt more files than that in one email

What do you like best about the product?
Virtru is very easy to use and to learn. It integrates with my Outlook, and I can turn Virtru on/off from the Outlook app. I work with sensitive patient information, so I am confident that the information I am sending is secure with Virtru. I also like the feature that allows me to see if the recipient has opened the encrypted message or not.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things that I dislike is the lag time to encrypt or decrypt messages sometimes. At times, my Outlook and Virtru lag, and it can take longer to open the message thread. When the lag takes longer than 10 seconds, I usually close out the application and open it again, or I will make sure my online connection is solid. Another thing I dislike is that when I'm replying to a Virtru message, I cannot scroll down to see the entire message thread as I respond to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Virtru, we are solving the issue of email security when sending patient information to physicians or offices. Working in healthcare, we must follow HIPAA guidlelines and be sure to send patient information in a secure manner. Virtru allows me to feel safe when sending patient information because I know the information is encrypted.

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it provides a security check before you send each email. It comes in handy and helps avoid sending an email that should be encrypted, which is not.

It is also helpful to have the 'buzz words' flag and ask you to check if it should be encrypted or not - you can never be too sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the speed of sending emails is a bit slow. It would be good if it kept an email open for a few extra seconds - sometimes you would click off the email by accident then have to wait again for it to open while Virtru does its thing.

Also, writing the word 'password' in an email is sometimes annoying as the doublecheck will 'flag' so you think you have sent an email when you have not.

Another downside is accessing emails on your mobile is occasionally quite tricky. Sometimes I can get into an email that is encrypted without a problem, and sometimes I can not. Perhaps that is a hardware issue and not a software one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is much easier to send files over Virtru instead of having to set-up an SFTP or some other secure file transfer protocol.
This is especially good when coming into contact with new customers as it is always a bit of a lengthy process setting up SFTPs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend this due to the security you have and cofidence when sending files and using emails specifically. Occasionally forwarding an email will be a hinderane and quite often you have to de-select the encryption before sending
