  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of pavement and I don't have to code!
What do you dislike about the product?
It is more expensive than other options. You continue to pay for the advanced editing tools in your hosting even after building and only make tweaks occasionally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a website other than Facebook (which not everyone has) to let people know about us.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Simple and Effective

What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the drag and drop features, that SEO is front and center, and that there are plenty of free themes to start with. We were able to create a compelling site in about a week (and we are able to continually update it, since we control the admin panel).

The Mobile Optimization is key. We recently started running ads on Google, and EVERYONE is viewing our site from their phones.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be awesome to be able to run a test on your site, to see how SEO friendly it was. Like anything, some of the design makes you think, "why did they do it like this," but I am sure that is just a difference of opinion.

We have a video in our header background that does not display on mobile, which is a bummer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have solved the problem of our online presence. Many people have told us that they like our website. Also, the mobile optimization is fantastic. To be able to toggle between versions is awesome, and they made it very easy to optimize for mobile.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend it. Use the free version to build something and then upgrade if you like it.

What do you dislike about the product?
Fees for apps, small selection of free stock photos, desktop to mobile view is finicky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing, tracking site visitors, communicating with customers.

Wix Review

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to build a website, even if you don't have prior experience. There are also a lot of fun details that you can use to make your site look appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that you have to pay a fee for the site if you don't want it to display the wix name but that is understandable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am trying to build a team website for our mortgage team. I think that Wix can really help us benefit with showing our customers what our team is all about. I like that I could create a page with just pictures, a page that can link the customer to our social media accounts and pages that just explain what we do and how to contact us. Wix has done a good job of catering to the every person who would like to build a website but hasnt had any prior training. I have taken some HTML classes in college but using Wix was so easy!

Awesome designing with wix

What do you like best about the product?
I love how its really easy design our page and how its not a complicated service to use. You can instantly change the color or set the background and put text anywhere with just one click. After creating, the website looks so good and everything is perfect.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Wix is that the price is not worth what you actually get. Customer support is slow at getting to you. I often find that they redirect you to someone higher up and it takes days to get back to you and the answers you need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to give people the best entertainment possible. Benefits are that people can enjoy themselves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I feel that its a great software and you should try it out.

Used to build CMS websites for techno-peasant clients

  • February 07, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Wix makes building a website very easy, and now they offer HTML sites which are better for SEO than CMS/Flash sites. I liked that it was pretty much cut and paste, I could add whatever I wanted to the site wherever I wanted. As I got to know the product, I was able to find loopholes that would let me do things with CMS that the company customer service reps said weren't available. It just takes a strategically creative mind and you can pretty much accomplish everything but SEO.

Domain names were a cinch to hook up.
What do you dislike about the product?
SEO for the CMS sites is a beast. My clients wanted to come up on the first page of Google with a few key words, and that is always a difficult thing to make happen when you build a website, even if you do an HTML site. It's really a separate job in itself. With flash sites, I was able to get clients on the third page...but for the first page, it took a lot of fandangling, extra hours which cost the client much more than they wanted to pay since CMS sites are pretty cheap.

I also didn't like that the customer service was virtually no help. I figured things out for myself that they said they weren't "offering" at this time. If I could use the tools they provided to do something, why couldn't it be offered already? I found that strange.

It also would have been nice, as a site builder, to have a separate account for me to be able to go in and make changes to the account, and the site owners to have more simple account options for domain name changes, or just personal account info. It was gibberish for them..so maintenance got sticky.

It was also impossible to have a site where readers could create accounts within the site - like abandoned carts or joining a club or organization or chatting back and forth. There were chat boxes but they sucked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to create nice looking websites for clients using the free tools wix offers and set them up to be able to continue managing the site.

The benefit was a simple website for small businesses or individuals that got specific info across to specific audiences. It really helped a lot of people who were just getting started.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get to know the product inside and out. Understand that if there is something they don't offer at this time, you can often find creative ways to get it anyway using their tools.

Easy and cost effective for designers and non-designers alike

  • January 29, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The usability of their platform simply can't be beat. The interface is clean, functional, and easy to use. If you need to build a website but don't know the first thing about coding, Wix is perfect. I've never found another website builder that was nearly as customizable and cost-effective. Great tool for web designers and laymen alike. If you've never created a website before, they have hundreds of beautiful templates to choose from, most of which are free. If you are an experienced designer, they make it easier than anyone else to create a beautiful website from scratch with an intuitive drag and drop editor. They also make it easy to add modern effects like parallax scrolling and animations.
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks certain functionality, especially when moving beyond just a simple web presence. For example, some retailers might find the Wix Store or newsletters to be lacking in areas like task scheduling or bulk item editing. The developers are consistently listening to user feedback and requests, however, and implementing improvements. On the programming side, you can't edit the site's code. You can add an iframe for custom html, but the site code is not editable, so if you're one of those designers who likes to have full control of every line of code, Wix is not the editor for you. Also, you have to pay for direct support - otherwise you're left at the mercy of the community help center. But Wix staff usually answers most problems within 24-48 hours.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a freelance designer and I have built sites as simple as an actor's web presence or an app subscriber sign-up site to a full-fledged online store or life coach's appointment booking site. Wix makes it easy for me to meet whatever needs my clients might have, fulfill their requests, and deliver beautiful sites easily. On top of which, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, so I save money and my clients save money.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No website builder I've used has come close to the level of ease and improvements I've seen with Wix.

Simple user base, but accommodates personal design aesthetics.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the Wix is such a simple website builder. It doesn't take very long to orient yourself within the program and figure out how things work. I also love that they allow you to edit even their predesigned layout to very specific details. It makes getting a website up very quickly a possibility without having to have a generic look.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the server is slow and it makes editing things a little frustrating. Certain aspects of editing are a little slow. Sometimes it is unclear what aspect your editing, header, body, footer. It can be frustrating to click on things and not have them respond or move you to that layer right away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How to best use Wix when you're an outside/freelance designer. But also want to be able to hand over the website when the project is done and not have the login on my business design user. Basically, it would be nice to be able to transfer the user to my client once the design is done. Not all clients will be long term and it makes it difficult to hand off a site when it's on my user. I love that it gives my clients an easy subscription.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're a designer you will love the beautiful ascetics Wix offers in their websites. It also gives you a lot of freedom as a designer to create your site either within their layout of all on your own.
