Point and Click Usability
What do you like best about the product?
Wix is so easy to use, that its easy for clients to log in and make edits to their websites without having to call or email me to make them. The App Market allows for easy integration of features, linking to social media, metrics and more. It's easy to add a store, manage invoices, order tracking and more, with easy payment options. You can also easily duplicate the site to build a similar site.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once you select an initial "design" you can't change it to another without starting from scratch. Customer support isn't offered by phone, so if you can't spell out exactly what your problem is in an email, it'll be a few rounds of back and forth to work out the issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have several clients who are looking for someone to build a website, which I'm fine with. I don't always have the time to make edits to sites as quickly as a client would like them, and this software is easy enough to use and understand that clients are able to make their own changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Wix is constantly adding more features, based on what is discussed in the help forums of their website.

Too many options makes it difficult to choose sometimes

Creating a website for a client. Can customize it and add features as needed.
Easy to use website builder for beginners
What do you like best about the product?
You don't need to know a thing about coding in order to build a website. I like how they also let you see how your site will look on mobile.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you are building your desktop website, I wish it could be more in-tune responsively when switching over to the mobile version. There were always a lot of elements I had to move around in order for them to look correct on the mobile version of the site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I had to create a very small business website quickly, and did so very easily with this program. Not needing technical knowledge was a huge benefit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely not the platform you want to use if you are starting any type of eCommerce store, but great for throwing up a super quick and aesthetically-pleasing website with minimal pages associated with it.

What do you like best about the product?
There is a lot that I love about Wix. It is very user friendly, and has a drag an drop capacity, you can also preview in real time how your website looks. You can add background videos to all of your pages and it is very easy to navigate and edit. It also has an excellent SEO analysis tool that helps you understand what SEO might be the very best for your pages, and helps you layout SEO in a very easy way. It is the best web design platform for people whom know nothing about web design and coding and want to make very simple websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
You can not make something very advanced without a lot of technical help. You will need hundreds of extra plug ins to make the site into a membership site for example and these plug ins are not easy to use navigate or update: they are also not easy to teach to your clients how to use, which I use dot think was once of WIX's best functions.
I think that six has dramatically improved in that websites can look very classy and beautiful but there are limitations. You can not create complicated animation for example. There is limitations in the gallery options in that there are a lot of styles but all the styles look somewhat amateur and not that modern.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I feel it is fine for small websites and small businesses and easy to show how to update. I love showing clients how easy it is to add text and images to their own site as I feel it helps them to feel in control of the website should something go wrong with it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to add a lot of additional features and functions to the website you are probably still best to use Wordpress or Squarespace where you can add HTML, CSS or Java Script.
If you have a small business and need only a small number of pages though the platform is fantastic.
Be aware that the platform images are only as good as the images you upload to the platform and use on your website so make certain that they are saved for the web in photoshop and make certain they are outstanding images, it isn't good enough to have bad images on a website any more and this will drag your site down. FYI if you want parralax this is an option on WIX but not on all templates.

Great Platform and User Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
The user-friendly interface it is easy to learn and worked for exactly what we needed much better than the other platform we tested out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do wish there was more customization with some of the set themes or more variety. Some of the themes I felt locked in where I couldn't make it customized to what we needed so we had to start from scratch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for an internal platform to house documents required for our new business process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It can do exactly what you need the way you need it but it make take some time to get to that point so be prepared to put in the time.

The fact that it's so straight forward- I am new to website design and am thrilled that I have successfully executed a website without having to pay someone to help me do so!

many of the features i'm interested in adding to my site are compatible with Wordpress, not Wix
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am in the midst of switching fields (hospitality to travel photography/blogging). Wix has and continues to be a great platform on which to showcase my photography, etc.
Great Website builder - but expensive and not great for an e-commerce store

Its so easy to edit the templates and features and to make it exactly what you'd like!

It had a high monthly cost compared to many other programs such as Wordpress and Shopify

It was a beautiful site and I loved using it. I felt proud to share it with producers, directors and industry professionals .

I did, until I wanted to develop an e-commerce store - my interests changed and I moved to Shopify.
A good beginner website
What do you like best about the product?
it is easy to use. I like that apps that are freely available.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not always as customizable as I'd like. Sometime the computer to phone is weird.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An easy site to send others to and easy to keep updated on my own.

What do you like best about the product?
Wix was a very easy way to setup a website. It allowed me to complete it in record time.
What do you dislike about the product?
You don't have full control over sometimes and there is also a learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating a website.
Great for getting websites up and running without a developer
What do you like best about the product?
Pretty intuitive interface, relatively feature rich, relatively easy to make a decent looking website, pretty good amount of stock photos users can use for free and even more / better ones available for a nominal fee. Free to build your website and if you want to use the free website you built, it's easy to convert it to a paid website. Best of all, they have lots of templates to peruse and if you can find a template that closely matches what you would like for your site, then building your website is easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the Wix ADI (artificial design intelligence) feature. When you first create a site, you can choose to use the Wix ADI or the Wix Editor. I found the ADI to cause everything to move very slowly and it didn't help me that much and it prevented me from using a lot of the features available in the Wix editor. I'm not a huge fan of their online help search engine. Sometimes (far too often for my taste) I will want to incorporate a simply feature but I cannot find the instructions using the help search engine. They do offer email help which is good, but when I need help, I want answers right away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Create inexpensive websites myself without having to get a designer / developer involved.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is unlikely an average user of Wix will be able to create a stunning website. However, using the templates offered will get you much further much more quickly and much less expensively than most options.
