    Effortless Script-to-Video Creation with Synthesia

    Reviewed on Aug 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easily I can turn a written script into a professional-looking video with Synthesia. The AI avatars and voiceovers are really useful because I don't need to record myself or set up a camera. The different templates, languages, and customization options make it easy to create videos for student instructions, orientation programs, training sessions, and college events. I also appreciate the ability to update the script and regenerate the video, which saves a lot of time compared with traditional video production. The initial setup was quite easy too, with a straightforward process to get started quickly. The templates and simple interface made the initial learning process easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that could be improved is the naturalness of some AI voices and avatar movements. At times, the delivery can still feel slightly artificial, especially for longer educational or formal presentations. More natural expressions, gestures, and voice emotions would make the videos more engaging. I would also like more customization options for avatars, pronunciation, and regional accents. Better pricing options for occasional users and faster video generation would further improve the overall experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Synthesia to quickly make professional videos from scripts, saving time on video creation. It eliminates the need for recording equipment and skills. The AI avatars and voices enhance presentation, though they can feel artificial at times, and I wish for more customization of avatars and voice options.

Easy and Efficient AI Video Creation

    Reviewed on Aug 27, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Synthesia is how easy it makes professional video creation. I can turn a script into a polished video quickly without needing video editing or production skills. The AI avatars and voiceovers are realistic, and the wide range of templates and languages makes it easy to create engaging content for different audiences.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike most about Synthesia is that the avatars and voices can sometimes feel a little robotic, especially in longer videos. The editing and customization options can also feel limited compared with traditional video editing software, and video generation can take longer than expected for more complex projects. The pricing can also become expensive as usage increases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synthesia solves the challenge of creating professional video content quickly without the need for cameras, studios, actors, or extensive editing. It helps me turn existing documents and scripts into engaging videos, update content easily, and localize it for different languages and audiences. This saves me significant time and effort while making it easier to communicate information consistently and at scale.

Powerful Learning Video Creation with Room to Improve

    Reviewed on Aug 27, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Synthesia is how quickly I can turn an instructional concept or written script into a polished, professional video. The AI Video Assistant gives me a strong starting point. At the same time, the templates, avatars, voice options, and drag-and-drop editor make it easy to customize the presentation for a specific audience.

As an instructional designer, I especially value the ability to revise a video without rescheduling a recording session or starting over. If content changes, I can update the script, adjust a scene, and generate a new version in much less time than traditional video production would require. This is particularly useful when developing learning experiences for older adults, where clear narration, readable text, thoughtful pacing, and a welcoming presenter are essential.

An unexpected benefit has been how easily I can experiment with different approaches before committing to a final version. Synthesia allows me to test the organization, tone, visuals, and pacing of a lesson early in the design process. Overall, it helps me produce engaging learning videos more efficiently while still giving me enough creative control to make the content feel purposeful and audience-centered. Synthesia works well as the primary video-production tool within my instructional design workflow. I use Canva and Figma to create branded graphics, diagrams, interface mockups, and other supporting visuals, then bring them into Synthesia. PowerPoint presentations and written documents also provide useful starting material for the AI Video Assistant.

After producing a video, I can export it for use in learning management systems, presentations, websites, and eLearning authoring tools. I can also bring the finished video into Camtasia when I need more advanced editing, detailed audio adjustments, or visual effects not available in Synthesia.

The overall workflow is reliable, but not every connection is seamless. Some tools require manual exporting and uploading, and imported visual elements may flatten rather than remain individually editable. If an original Canva or Figma asset changes, I may need to update and replace it manually in Synthesia.

Overall, Synthesia fits well within my technology stack because it handles the presenter, narration, and scene-based production efficiently. Stronger two-way integrations and automatic asset synchronization would make the workflow even better.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main limitation of Synthesia is that the AI presenters can still feel somewhat scripted. Their gestures, facial expressions, and emotional range do not always match the meaning or tone of the narration. This becomes especially noticeable in scenario-based or emotionally sensitive learning, where a more natural human presence is important.

The automated video creation tools provide a useful starting point, but the generated scenes often require additional editing. Text may be too dense, visual choices can feel generic, and the pacing is not always appropriate for the intended audience. When designing for older adults, I frequently need greater control over narration speed, pauses, text size, and the amount of information presented in each scene.

I would also like more flexibility in customizing avatars, movements, camera angles, and visual transitions. Synthesia works well for presenter-led training, but videos can begin to look repetitive when the same layouts and avatar behaviors appear across multiple scenes.

Finally, plan restrictions and video-generation limits can make experimentation expensive. Previewing avatar movement and narration more fully before using generation time or credits would make the design process more efficient. More natural avatar behavior, stronger accessibility controls, and finer control over pacing would make Synthesia an even more valuable instructional design tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Synthesia, creating a professional training video required coordinating a presenter, recording narration, finding a suitable location, and editing multiple media files. That process could take several days or even weeks, making video difficult to use when timelines or budgets were limited.

Synthesia allows me to move from an approved script to a usable video draft within a single working session. I can create presenter-led learning without hiring on-camera talent, reserving a studio, purchasing recording equipment, or managing a traditional production crew. This reduces production costs and allows me to devote more time to instructional strategy and the learner experience.

The platform also solves the problem of maintaining video content. In traditional production, even a small script change may require new recording and editing. With Synthesia, I can revise the affected scene and generate an updated version without recreating the entire video.

This flexibility is particularly valuable when developing learning for older adults. I can adjust pacing, simplify the language, enlarge on-screen text, and reorganize content based on feedback. Overall, Synthesia helps me prototype ideas faster, create more consistent training materials, and produce professional learning videos that might otherwise be impractical because of time or budget constraints.

Impressive Results, But Editing Menus Need to Be Easier to Navigate

    Reviewed on Aug 26, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I love the solution as a whole. Most video editing tools allows very basic capabilities but Synthesia is a more mature product that allows you to create and edit your video easily. It helped me to save valuable time when creating videos for my org so I find it worthwhile to use
What do you dislike about the product?
It's still complex to find your way in the editing menus. Although the end result is impressive, the way to get there is still complex. Also, I would use more tutorials that will help me to learn how to master the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For long time I looked for a video editing software that can work in scale and is ready to support business and not personal user. Synthesia is a mature stable product that helped me to create and edit videos for my organization (mostly for the L&D department).
