Effortless Video Creation for Novices
What do you like best about the product?
I really find Synthesia very easy to use, especially when working with existing blog content. You just give the URL, and it provides a little bit of direction. I also think the ease of changing avatars or switching them around is really helpful. We have tested a few products, but Synthesia just works out of the box, which is great for novice individuals like myself who don't have a background in graphic design or creative fields. It's possible to make a pretty decent blog post video without any expertise. The initial setup was quite easy too; we managed to turn out a video within ten to fifteen minutes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting used to Synthesia can take some time. We've been using it for about four to six weeks, and one of the avatars didn't pronounce things properly or spoke quickly, which wasn't easy to streamline. Sometimes, after highlighting and typing the pronunciation, it didn't save a couple of times. Also, converting new content into a video took more effort compared to existing blog content. It wasn't as easy out of the box and required more practice for non-automatic conversion.

I like that I can edit the script while the video is playing. The real-time editing experience saves a lot of time compare to other products.

Script to voice problem and the real-time editing. Most of the other script-to voice tools generate the audio as a whole, with Synthesia you don't need to wait for the full audio to be generated all over again.

I like that Synthesia is a self-explanatory tool that generates quick results and does not require a long training period. This eliminates the need for onboarding when an employee continues working on content without necessarily knowing the program.
What do you dislike about the product?
The speech output is not really smooth. Words are very often mispronounced. In other paragraphs, which have nothing to do with the current paragraph, the pronunciation changes. It is sometimes very tedious to program the avatar to pronounce it correctly. I wish for more editing functions.

The content created looks very AI and unnatural. It takes a very long time to render and requires a manual review. The template created is all landscape with no medium such as the nine sixteen for phone use. The content doesn't look realistic, and the process to make it is long and complicated.

What do you like best about the product?
Synthesia has made creating training modules for our company effortless. I previously used PowerPoint to design presentations and record my own voiceovers for the modules, which took days or weeks. With Synthesia, I can create higher-quality and more engaging modules is a mere fraction of the time. I have also uploaded some of my previously created PowerPoint presentations to recreate them using Synthesia's avatars and other features to make them better without having to start from scratch. This integration is extremely helpful. I also find the dubbing feature very helpful, as I am able to dub existing videos to other languages for our non-English-speaking staff members.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have tried using the AI Video Assistant to upload PDF documents and convert them to a video, but I have found that I end up spending a long time editing the transcript and video content because the AI doesn't seem to fully understand the material. It tends to oversimplify the data and doesn't organize the information in a way that it flows easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Synthesia has saved me an enormous amount of time creating training modules for our company, and increased the quality and effectiveness of the content. I can now create many more modules in much less time.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can customize my avatar in Synthesia. It's great to be able to give my avatar a special clothing, like a pilot uniform. It's also nice to see how the product has become easier to use over the past two years, especially when it comes to setting up the timing of animations.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I defined the avatar's clothing, I needed to change a small detail, but another detail, which I didn't request, also changed. Also, when I started using Synthesia 2 years ago, it was not easy to work with because too many things were complicated, like setting up the timing of the animation.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Synthesia to create instructional videos, and I like that I can easily create videos without having to make all the graphical elements myself. The AI voices for voiceovers are a big plus, and doing storyboarding directly within the tool is convenient. The effects such as zooming and popping are easy to place from the script. The realistic AI voices, the range of icons, storyboarding and scripting options, and scenes that resemble Google Slides really add value. I also like the effects, animations, quizzes, and interactivity which make the videos more interesting and engaging. It's great that everything is in one place—it's all very easy and customizable. I appreciate their team keeping us informed of new features, and their Feature Fridays and the community are the cherry on top. The initial setup was easy thanks to the step-by-step instructional videos.

Occasionally there are glitches and bugs when the videos generate, however, their support team is normally very helpful and provides solutions quite quickly.
