Synthesia: Best for Enterprise, but Avatars Still Need Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I have tried out a number of AI video avatar tools, and from my experience, Synthesia stands out as the only one that is truly ready for enterprise use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The avatars still appear somewhat unnatural and not quite human-like, although there has been noticeable improvement in recent months. I recommend using high-quality equipment such as a good greenscreen, microphone, and camera when creating your avatar. Doing so made a significant difference in our overall quality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are producing educational videos for students. One of the main advantages is how simple it is to translate the content into various languages, which allows us to expand quickly into new markets. Another benefit is the ability to easily update videos that have already been published, without the need to re-upload them. Additionally, compared to other tools in this category, I like the UI/UX which is quite similar to PPTx (what we used before).

I regularly use Synthesia for both marketing and learning and development purposes. The platform makes video creation remarkably straightforward. In marketing, it’s excellent for producing quick product explanations. For learning and development, it saves a significant amount of time, allowing me to easily generate consistent training materials for various teams. I have had a lot of positive feedback from my clients. Their customer support is also reliable. Whenever I’ve had questions or needed assistance with a feature, the team has responded promptly. It’s clear they genuinely listen to feedback and are committed to enhancing the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it frustrating that, when I write a script, the pronunciation can be completely inaccurate, even after I try to adjust the script. Additionally, the cost of the enterprise plan is unreasonable. There really should be an option between the creator and enterprise plans that would be more suitable for a wider range of users.

Synthesia has been a huge help to me, especially when it comes to saving time and simplifying the video editing process.

For training and internal communications, the ability to edit scripts swiftly, reorder scenes effortlessly, and re-render videos instantly provides a significant boost in productivity. The platform also scales effectively for teams, and sharing videos for stakeholder review is straightforward thanks to shareable links.
What do you dislike about the product?
The level of fine-grained control is more restricted than what you get with full-featured video editors. While lip-sync and pronunciation are generally accurate, they can falter when handling acronyms, names, or specialized jargon, often requiring phonetic adjustments or manual intervention. Achieving advanced motion graphics or intricate layouts is challenging, and the selection of stock assets seems more limited compared to professional-grade tools. For teams with heavy usage, costs can accumulate, and during peak times, render queues may slow down delivery. Although integrations are available, the addition of more robust API or webhook automation and enhanced analytics would further improve the experience.

There are very few drawbacks to using Synthesia. It would be helpful if they offered more templates featuring people engaged in dialogue, though I understand this feature is on the way. While there is a significant price increase for the Enterprise edition, it does provide access to additional features.

What do you like best about the product?
Synthesia is fairly easy to use, and I like the near instant results. It has been easy to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more ways to easily "tweak" voices to sound more natural -- some are better than others, and I think the app has improved this some, so Ilook forward to more enhancements.
