My experience using Synthesia
What do you like best about the product?
I loved the AI Avatar and Selfie Avatar functions from Synthesia, as well as the auto-script and video scene generation based on the content and context of the videos I was creating. It totally saved hours and hours of manual production time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wasn't able to publish content related to current events, even though the content was written by me. Furthermore, I didn't realize the content was allowed to be published until after I spent long hours putting everything together.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auto scene and script generation, as well as Avatar selections.
Very Intuitive Tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I like how intuitive the editor is! It is easy to make the changes I want.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was designed a bit more like a video editor in which I can add audio tracks across the whole video and edit the volume easier. If this tool had more video editing features it would be perfect!

Cool Technology, Still Needs a Human Touch
What do you like best about the product?
I can create videos quickly, on my team's timeline. Edits are easy to make and turn around quickly. Plus, the cost benefit of moving to this AI model vs. producing videos with actors is huge. We were paying a significantly amount more per year to have videos shot at a studio, not being in control of the talent selected, and sometimes turnaround took days. Synthesia takes all that away. I produce videos almost daily and this is a game changer. Once I got up to speed on the platform, it became fairly intuitive about how to use it. A colleague helped train me in person, and then the implementation was easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are quite a few nuances to getting the voiceover work right. You have to really pay attention to how words sounds, not necessarily how they're spelled. This sometimes is quite challenging to get the avatar to say something right. Also, the inflection isn't always correct. You have to play around with the text, and this is time consuming. Sometimes the avatar seems especially robotic, too. I've noticed that even when we use the same sentence over and over in a script, the avatar will sometimes say it one way, sometimes another. Kind of frustrating when you think you have it dialed it exactly right, and then it seems to switch from video to video. Customer support needs a way to screen share or do Zoom calls - it's frustrating to explain a problem over email. One especially frustrating thing for me in using this platform is the inability to group your photos in folders. I produce multiple videos utilizing many different images that look similar (country club golf courses, for example), and it's often hard to tell what is what, if you have to leave the project and come back to it later. The ability to separate or catalogue your assets would be very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned earlier in "what do you like about it," Synthesia gives me the ability to produce videos quickly and get team input/buy-in almost immediately. We used to produce videos with an outside vendor and this was extremely expensive and could be slow. Edits were of course very hard and expensive as well, if there was ever a reshoot. Synthesia also gives credibility to our product and company by utilizing our executive partners as the speaking avatars.

What do you like best about the product?
The realistic nature of the generated avatars is surprising. People watching the video fresh are usually unaware that it is not the real deal. The vocal reproduction is excellent. Their scripting interface is very straightforward and easy to use. All-in-all I've found it the quickest way to get a professional avatar ready for production use. It's a platform I'm comfortable with using frequently to build out avatar videos which integrate with our backend to provide customised onboarding.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like anything in this space, things are always moving forward quickly, so occasionally there might be a technical glitch. But their support and account management team have resolved issues very quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run an extensive software service with a large customer base. In order to build out tutorials for our customers, we were looking for a tool which could support the delivery of video tutorials without extensive studio time.

I’m a user, executive sponsor and internal evangelist of Synthesia at my company.
First- Synthesia is simple and I mean little ramp up to be using the to and capabilities proficiently
Second - the customization features from avatar and voice selection to the library of images and videos makes every video easy to customize and fun to create
Also - being able to playback your work as you go cuts down post editing and review.
I played around with the AI script to video and was blown away by how the layout and images matched the content but also how the script was applied and adjusted without losing the point - especially when given length of video constraints.
I created internal training, internal communication and customer facing videos in a week for a fraction of the time and cost to produce otherwise.

Synthesia is so easy to use to create videos any time of the day. I’ve literally gone from having an idea for a short video to publishing it in under an hour.

I wish there were more expressive avatars.

No need to hire green screen actors. And editing post production is super easy.
Game changer for creating SME content
What do you like best about the product?
It allows content to be drafted by SMEs and generated by learning professionals. It is so easy to maintain content without needing the same SMEs to come back and update it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I keep finding new features - which is great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows business professionals who are not willing or able to record themselves onscreen to provide a script which can be used to create AI voiceovers.

Synthesia's quality, ease of use, implementation and the videos are saved on my Youtube and marketing platforms to use forever!
What do you dislike about the product?
Synthesia is as easy implementation and integration as the tutorials demonstrate. I have no patience for creating. Synthesia allows me to provide general ideas that are turned into well thought out marketing videos with art and vid along with professional ai characters. You can also create your own ai character that looks and sounds like you! Its amazing and so affordable! I use these frequently in my marketing campaigns weekly. Customer support was amazing when I called as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synthesia solves the most important problem in my business...TIME. I can have an idea for a marketing message and have it fully loaded in my marketing platform to release several times a week in less than 20 minutes. Its amazing!
