Versatile Communication Tool with Data Control and Privacy

  • February 06, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Rocket.Chat for real-time private and public chats, and I appreciate how it allows me to share screens and files easily. It solves my problems with data control and privacy by giving me full data ownership along with encryption and strict access. I like that it has a single omnichannel inbox, so I don't have to juggle WhatsApp, email, live chat, and other tools separately.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup for Rocket.Chat feels quite technical, which can be challenging, especially for teams without IT support. A simpler installation process with helpful wizards would make it easier. Also, the user interface, while functional, could use more polish. Smoother navigation and animations would enhance the overall user experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Rocket.Chat for real-time private and public chat, screen sharing, and file sharing. It solves the lack of data control and privacy by giving me full data ownership, encryption, and strict access. The single omnichannel inbox simplifies handling WhatsApp, email, live chat, and other tools.

Good Team Chat Tool With Lots of Flexibility

  • February 02, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Iit gives a lot of freedom and control, it’s open‑source, you change many things to fit your own setup or security needs.
This is easy to use, and chatting in groups or one‑to‑one feels smooth. It also connects well with other tools we use, so daily work is simpler. it’s reliable and secure, and it feels like you actually own platform instead of depending fully on some outside service.
What do you dislike about the product?
that some parts of the interface feel bit confusing first, for new users. A few settings are hidden too deep, so you need extra time to find the right options.
Integrations work fine but some need manual tweaking for to run smoothly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
helps us bring all team communication in one place instead of spreading messages across emails - calls, and all different apps.
It makes easier to track conversations and share files without losing context and also gives better control over data and security, which is important when you don’t want sensitive chats stored to third party servers.

  • December 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Rocket.Chat for everyday team communication and collaboration, especially with remote or distributed teammates. It keeps our conversations organized with channels and direct messages, making it easy to stay on top of discussions. I really appreciate how customizable Rocket.Chat is and the strong focus on security and control it gives our team. It helps solve the problem of scattered communication and enhances collaboration with real-time messaging and file sharing. I like most how much control and flexibility Rocket.Chat provides, allowing us to customize channels, permissions, and integrations to match our workflow. Security and data ownership are also highly valued, providing peace of mind for internal and sensitive conversations. The integrations and automation options fit smoothly into our workflow, making tasks easier and connected. The interface is simple and intuitive, making it easy for new team members to start using it. Rocket.Chat is reliable, even with lots of active conversations, and the documentation helped a lot during the initial setup, making it manageable.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I really like Rocket.Chat, there are a few things I think could be better. The interface can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for new users, and it takes time to get used to all the features. Some advanced customizations and integrations also need technical know how, which isn’t always ideal. I’ve also noticed occasional slowdowns with heavy usage, so smoother performance and easier onboarding would definitely improve the experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Rocket.Chat organizes our communication with channels and direct messages, making collaboration faster and file sharing easy. It integrates with our tools, customizing our workflow while maintaining security for sensitive information, especially with remote teams.

Highly Customizable, Ideal for Secure Team Communication

  • December 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like how Rocket.Chat balances flexibility, control, and everyday usability. It's great to have the option to fully manage, customize, and even self-host communications, especially when security, privacy, or compliance are important. I enjoy how it adapts to different team structures with channels, roles, and permissions, making collaboration organized rather than chaotic. I also appreciate that it serves as a central hub by integrating with other tools, so conversations stay connected to the actual work instead of being isolated. Plus, the basic messaging, file sharing, and threaded discussions are reliable and familiar, keeping teams productive without a steep learning curve.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Rocket.Chat is powerful, it can sometimes feel complex and heavy, especially during initial setup or when managing advanced configurations. The interface isn’t always as polished or intuitive as some mainstream chat tools, which can slow down adoption for new users. Performance can also vary depending on hosting and configuration, requiring ongoing maintenance. Simplifying setup, improving UI consistency, and offering clearer guidance for administrators would make the experience smoother without reducing its flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Rocket.Chat to centralize team communications, manage real-time chats and file sharing, and integrate with other tools, all in a secure setup. It tackles the problem of using multiple messaging tools, providing control over communication and addressing security and compliance needs.

Cost-Effective Communication with Room for Improvement

  • December 16, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Rocket.Chat for daily communication with the freelancer community at my company. It's cost-effective, easy to use across all platforms, and it provides a solution for communication with a large number of users. The messaging in general is really good, and Rocket.Chat has been improving compared to 2022 with a new UI, new features, and a more stable environment for work communication. These improvements help make communication smooth and efficient. The initial setup of Rocket.Chat was easy, and inviting users was straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's still a lot to improve. For example, the avatars' photo quality is cropped and blurred. I also find the text editor poor because we have to use Markdown, which is not efficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Rocket.Chat for daily communication with a large freelancer community. It's cost-effective, easy to use across platforms, and the new UI and features make communication smooth and efficient.
