Empowering Online Learning
What do you like best about the product?
D2L Brightspace offers several advantages that make it a useful tool for online education such as an Intuitive and Easy-to-Use Interface, Flexibility in Customization, Advanced Assessment Tools, Accessibility and Mobile Compatibility, Integration with Other Tools, Analytics and Reporting, Support for Inclusion and Diversity, Collaboration and Communication.
These advantages make D2L Brightspace a powerful option for educational institutions and organizations looking to improve the quality and effectiveness of online learning.

What do you dislike about the product?
The disadvantage of using D2L Brightspace is that it does not have an integrated tool to detect plagiarism or the use of AI compared to other online learning platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not having a tool to detect plagiarism or the use of AI like SafeAssign in Blackboard Collaborate or Unicheck in Canvas, to cite two examples.
Great tool for course management
What do you like best about the product?
This tool has been excellent for course management. It is easy to use and very intuitive. Its integration and connectivity with other tools and systems allow for process automation and time optimization.
Its technical support is agile and effective, and they have continuous improvement and error correction programs, which enhance the user experience.

What do you dislike about the product?
We have no incidents that halt the operation. Incidents are almost always minor errors and have been resolved or considered for future updates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
So far we have been able to solve all the needs for our institution.

D2L - Refined LMS Platform designed for Schools, with many features behind paywalls.
What do you like best about the product?
D2L Brightspace has a high level of customizability, and has been designed with inclusive learning strategies and capabilities. I enjoyed the learner moose mascot that accompanied D2L certificate training.
I also enjoyed select members of the D2L support team that were assigned to my account, who are professional, reliable, and helpful.

What do you dislike about the product?
Frequent staff turnover of D2L representatives assigned to our contract, meant a lot of wasted time bringing new D2L team members up to speed on our needs/status, only to have those people replaced again. I can't even remember half the names of the people that were a revolving door on our file.
Many of the features that D2L uses to sell itself to potential clients do not come standard. There are multiple paywalls, that can be a surprise to clients who believed they were getting all of the functionality that D2L uses in it's marketing and instructional training content. Support for screen readers, Creator Plus, Performance Plus, Storefront...everything was at an additional fee.
The platform was designed for schools and academic institutions. As such there is a lot of support for synchronous courses, (semester based courses), and creating learner groups, assignments, and discussions. Even the training provided to companies for their super admins is focused on how D2L can be utilized for teachers/schools. It didn't adequately suit our purpose for utilizing the platform.

A hosting platform for training we develop specific to our industry.
Growing with the times
What do you like best about the product?
The opportunities to professionalize our training has been ongoing with our service since 2020, when we started using them. We are a corporate customer. We have used professional services to get us started and we can now create most of our content, it is just a matter of time. When we first came onboard, we uploaded our current scorm content from another provider and have been building courses with HTML pages as we have been updating our courses. We have recently added Creator Plus which will make creating the pages easier.
We work closely with our Customer Success team, attend conferences to gain more knowledge of the product.
You can be as engaged as you want to be and this has helped to move our growth along.
We have been able to integrate with our HRIS to create users, put users into groups and disable users when they are on leave or terminated.

What do you dislike about the product?
This is not an issue perse with Brightspace, but having the time to create the content is always the issue.
I don't need a checklist now when creating content, but certainly, needed to ensure to follow the steps to get courses ready to publish in the beginning.
If there was one thing, it would be the attributes cannot be changed manually, they need to be done by uploading .csv.

Using Intelligent agents to remind employees that training is required to be completed.
Adaptable but has some limiting factors.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the range of available tools and customizations that can be made, it makes it adaptable to various use cases.
What do you dislike about the product?
The least helpful is the limiting factors of what I can do without additional assistance from a D2L representative. While it is fairly user-friendly, there are still many challenges if you don't have a basic understanding of coding.

Enjoying D2L Brightspace so far
What do you like best about the product?
Brightspace is generally user friendly, from both an administrator perspective and our customers' perspectives. This platform has been the easiest so far that we've used to create content and push it live to customers. The support team has been very responsive and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Disability accommodations and accessiblity are vital to our content creation and user experience. There are some improvements that need to be made in terms of accessibility, especially when trying to implement math curriculum. Creator+ is missing a few basic features, such as being able to bold and italicize questions and answers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspace is allowing us to digitize our curriculum and make it interactive and fun for our students. We are able to expand our product line and make our customers happy.

My current D2L team is great. When I have specific needs, they are very helpful in finding solutions.

As a non-profit museum institution, our needs differ from traditional learning environments. D2L is helpful in customizing the tool to fit our needs.

D2L platform slows down at times. As an Admin, when I try to search users - the result returned many times gets errored out. I'm really unaware how the search User works in D2L but this needs to be improvised

D2L platform is helpful is multiple ways like creating reports for any time range as there are wide varity of Data Hubs. Configuring account wise details for proper tracking
