What do you like best about the product?
The ROLAP features are very powerful, especially if you've built your database right
What do you dislike about the product?
building dashboards can be time consuming. fine-tuning some of the settings can be frustrating, as some of the settings are not as intuitive as I think they could be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
have a number of dashboards (both RSDs and Dossiers) that we use to present data to the business. We use these for managing various aspects of our vendor relationships.

The disconnected pricing model. Inconsistencies with support staff skill sets and inconsistent documentation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Normal historical analytics, plus more complex transactional based analytics. We're moving into the area of true self-service analytics with the new external data capabilities combined with Dossier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have strong handle on your requirements and what your future requirements are before finalizing the selection. It can be overkill for some uses.

With the help of Microstrategy, Court administration of Latvia has become a leading country in the world in the possibilities to analyze court data.
Not only we now have access to hundreds of different objects about court work, we can effectively present them in interested parties and stakeholders.
We now can use or capabilities to the full extent - working with only two employees we do in a week more thatn whole other institutions are capable in a year and we firmly believe that to be entirely. true.
Microstrategy has enabled us to see courts from entirely different perspective, to give thorough insights and to make look us to be on a whole different level.

It is a bit on the expensive side and the organization has to really either 1. commit to using and spending on Microstrategy or 2. do it by outsourced experts and risk stagnation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are generating evaluation reports for judges not doing it for a whole day but instead just choosing a particular judge.

Being able to visual Teradata database metrics for management to help identify problems. Dossiers offer a lot of information in a consumable fashion, even when working with millions of records

The quickness in which sessions close out. The spinning icon when there is too much data, sometimes just general slowness

Enterprise monitoring as a database admin, seeing cost reports related to db management that goes to execs

Microstrategy is an effective solution for my team to use when leveraging large datasets that leverage a live database connection

Microstrategy has been challenging to work with when importing flat file datasets and joining them to other large datasets.

Microstrategy helps us build dashboards with large datasets without crashing or dramatically bogging down tool performance
