Strong reporting tool
What do you like best about the product?
The self serve tool capability is amazing for creating the views I need - always being flexible and in a clean concise manner
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about MicroStrategy

Using MicroStrategy as a Reporting Analyst
What do you like best about the product?
When set up correctly, I love the fact that the end user has the ability to filter data the way they want to see it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Designing reports can be pretty tricky. It's almost like you have to pre-plan which things you want to add to your report, so that you can get the layout right. If you don't it can cause a lot of rework.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving reporting problems with MicroStrategy. I currently produce 50+ reports each morning through MS Access databases. Once all of my reports are migrated to MicroStrategy it will save me approx. 10 hours each week.
Very pleased Microstrategy User/Developer/Admin
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Microstrategy's semantic layer enables my power users to develop their own reports and dashboards, taking workload off my plate! I also very much like the new Workstation desktop application for creating OLAP cubes and dossiers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Microstrategy Developer and Architect greatly needs updating, the interface feels outdated. Also, that Workstation needs to connect to the Intelligence Server via Library and Tomcat server is a pain to configure, after applying a patch especially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Microstrategy has eased the transition from our legacy/home grown reporting application to a very robust and low maintenance true BI platform.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Microstrategy has solved all of my organizations BI needs, and we are barely cracking the surface of its capabilities!

Dossier drill-down capabilities for analysts is helpful for gaining insights into cost drivers.
What do you dislike about the product?
Data limitations in that you can only keep less than 10M rows in cubes.

What do you like best about the product?
We use Micro for everything- it is the one stop shop that we use for reporting to our field agents.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the coding is a little tricky. I am getting use to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our data is one place. We are able to get info out fast and it is east to digest
Limited experience but it's been very useful for simplifying one of my reporting processes.

One source of data, ability to create dashboards from the data.

Seems like there are still a lot of bug fixes.

I am big fan of MSTR for many years. The features, it provides for any enterprise reporting and analytics, are unparalleled. I used Hyper and federated features with 2019. Looking forward to use it more.

Support from tech support team can be more specific and faster

Since my company is not on 2020 yet, the one big item I was looking for on Dossers was the ability to stack metrics or attributes. I am glad to see this coming tot he new version.

Allowing users to look at their data real time.

I love its speed, performance and great capacity for filtering data. You can use several different sources in the server.
What do you dislike about the product?
The report is difficult to read, it needs to be improved. The method of installation is also complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You can review large databases from a wide variety of sources and have a single report containing crossed information from all sources.

Very reliable and efficient tool really fulfill what they say it does and, it is very easy to use.
