What do you like best about the product?
The dynamic report builder offers logical steps in creating different views of attributes and metric options used in reports. Sharing feature allows for standardized reports across all users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Need more dynamic output choices for creating customer (B2B) facing presentations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating actionable reports addressing KPIs and trends. Ability to track POS sales performance of existing and new product releases allows us to address any opportunities with value added services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider data architecture thoroughly before going into production, especially if using parallel to other data sources/providers.

What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to drill down to the lowest level to find specific information I'm looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the company does not have the add on feature that allows weekly reports to generate Sunday night and be in my inbox Monday morning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Seasonality of merchandise. How can we better track sizing/color selling information to tailor our buys.

What do you like best about the product?
With the correct attributes, I am able to pull any information that I need to have a full report generated of sales, inventory, and more.
What do you dislike about the product?
Program requires quite a bit of training and practice to effectively utilize it to it's fullest potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to mainly solve inventory questions or find gross profit information compared to a previous time frame or current.

What do you like best about the product?
Like the flexibility to create my own custom attributes and metrics as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it deletes my history and/or my shortcuts to folders, and I have to redo them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding the results while tying them to different data warehouses.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is consistent with delivering data in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I have to go through so many selections before I can get to my report. I think there should be a saved report link.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I utilize Microstrategy to run revenue accruals. It allows me to see exactly how the revenue has been recognized.

It takes really slow to load in data and it freezes a lot.

Ease of use meets a shared collaboration tool

What do you like best about the product?
MicroStrategy is easy to use and best of all, remains consistent over multiple platforms. It is very easy to have my reps run the same reports on their own MicroStrategy pages and for us to share our reports through our MicroStrategy portals.
What do you dislike about the product?
While running reports, there are a several ways in which the filters could be altered in order to run more accurate and specific reports. It's a bit of a pain sometimes to only be able to do one month at a time under specific constraints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MicroStrategy allows our business to compare our sales and revenue trends throughout the months and seasons. It has allowed us to realize our company's trends and better plan for the amount of product we need to order as it varies greatly throughout the seasons. We have also been able to gauge the effectiveness of our large-scale promotional events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think that it is very a helpful tool and, while there are a couple of things that could be improved, overall it is extremely beneficial to be able to share reports with ease between our importers and distributors.

What do you like best about the product?
Microstrategy is fairly easy to use and helped me to easily understand my numbers when I became a sales rep at The Sherwin Williams Company. It was downloaded on all of our rep phones and I got into the habit of opening it up first thing in the morning to see how I did the day before. It also helped me to breakdown and analyze customers during preparation for sales so that I could prepare my sales plan in a more efficient manner.


What do you dislike about the product?
Although I picked up the basics very quickly, there is SO much in Microstrategy that it does present a fairly significant learning curve. I do not think I was even taking advantage of 50% of what was offered. There was no training provided to me and I think that would've helped me to really take advantage of all the benefits.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It really was my #1 tool as a sales rep. It helped me be more efficient and manage my time better. Before promotions I used microstrategy to breakdown who was buying what, where my sales where coming from, who I needed to spend more time on... I was able to analyze every detail via reports and planned accordingly for each upcoming promotion.

What do you like best about the product?
Great tracks. The presentations so far have been well worth the journey.
What do you dislike about the product?
seems smaller this year. Could go for an xtended look into apps and more focus on security
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ETL is a mess. Would love it if you had some open source partners in that realm next year.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It won't fix legacy data issues for you. It's not a magic solution. Fix your ERP system and clean up your master data first.
