What I like best about Veeam Data Platform is its seamless integration of backup, replication, and recovery into a single, easy-to-manage solution. The platform offers robust support for virtual, physical, and cloud workloads, making it highly versatile.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Veeam Data Platform is solving key challenges around data protection, disaster recovery, and ransomware resilience across hybrid environments. It allows us to reliably back up and quickly recover virtual machines, physical servers, and cloud workloads from a single interface. This minimizes downtime, ensures business continuity, and reduces the risk of data loss.

What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
Veeam Data Platform provides me with the most useful features such as application restore, single file restore, backup and replication, and continuous replication. We utilize these features for management and the customers we serve.
Veeam Data Platform provides features such as immutability and ransomware protection. While we use other applications for ransomware protection, we rely on Veeam Data Platform for encryption.

For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Veeam Data Platform for over 11 years.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
Deploying Veeam Data Platform was easy in setup and deployment. We have deployed it more than a thousand times for ourselves and our customers, taking only a couple of hours for deployment, discovery, and initiating backup.
How are customer service and support?
They respond quickly in most cases. However, in some instances, there is back-and-forth communication between Veeam Data Platform, VMware, and other vendors to identify the source of the problem.
The support is great overall. While most cases are handled perfectly, we have encountered a few challenging cases. I would rate their support an eight or nine out of ten.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Veeam Data Platform is more expensive than OpenStack because we pay for it in US dollars, while we pay for OpenStack in Egyptian pounds.
Veeam Data Platform provides benefits worth the money we pay, as we serve it to our customers. As cloud providers, we offer backup as a service to our customers.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Commvault is the only competition to Veeam Data Platform in the market, and its only advantage over Veeam Data Platform is OpenStack backup capability.
What other advice do I have?
There are some AI features available. We are working with Copilot for Office 365 and are beginning to explore its use.
We are still working to deploy it integrated with Veeam Data Platform for notifications and to summarize the backup.
Veeam Data Platform is the first recommendation from my company and me, as it's easy to set up, and the portal and management are very straightforward compared to competitors.
I would rate Veeam Data Platform a nine out of ten.

Veeam is solving almost all the backup issue but with the Immutable Feature which is very much required for the protection.

Stability of the processes and quickness oif restore; never experienced any issue in B&R process, nor a failure in restoring VMs or individual files

Up to date running only on Windows, new Linux release would be a further step forward

We lost data and VM server now are able to recover them
Cheap and technical backup product, which shows when deployed at scale

As product utilises S3 Cloud storage, which we can purchase considerably cheaper in blocks than providers can offer, it reduced backup costs by a large margin.
This also allowed us much more involvement in set-up of said storage, location for offsite backups, local backup storage targets etc. etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Cloud management console proved to be less than accurate, with failures reported for working backups, failing backups not reporting in, missing schedules, agents offline and no warnings, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
On-prem physical and virtual server backup provision. Much more involved product than the majority we've tried, but this also means the onus is on you as not only the provider, but also the data/storage controller.
Veeam Data Platform is Wonderful and Easy to Use
What do you like best about the product?
Veeam is easy to install and integrate into our environment. We use it constantly. The feature set for the price is excellent and the customer support is some of the best I've worked with.

Nothing. I absolutely enjoy using Veeam

Veeam backups our entire virtual infrastructure to our immutable repos. It also scans for malware and other potential threats so we know that our backup data is safe.

What do you like best about the product?
Veeam excels at providing reliable, flexible, and fast backup solutions. It supports VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud environments, as well as physical machines, making it a robust solution for diverse infrastructures. The ability to backup virtual machines at a granular level and restore them quickly is one of its standout features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Veeam’s pricing structure is somewhat complex, with different tiers (Standard, Enterprise, and Enterprise Plus) and separate costs for certain features like cloud storage. This can be a bit confusing for new customers trying to determine what they need and what they’ll pay.

Data loss and downtime are major concerns for any business, particularly when mission-critical data is involved. Veeam provides fast, reliable backups and quick recovery options to prevent data loss and minimize downtime during outages or disasters.
