What do you like best about the product?
Customer support - Jones was extremely responsive, knowledgeable, and motivated to fix the root cause of issues.
Product - Everything worked well and updated quickly. Vanta integrated with all our existing software stack (AWS, Github, Jira)

What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest complaint was around the tasks not being sorted into categories, but Jones informed me that Vanta is working on a dashboard overhaul that would address this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Undergoing an audit for SOC 2 certification. We are about to begin the audit.
I genuinely don't think we would have been able to go for a SOC 2 at our size (8 FTEs) without Vanta.

Vanta made our company SOC audit seamless!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of using Vanta. It is an extremely organized project management tool that helped our company create effective policies for our SOC audit. Our team consisted of 3 main administrators and in the next year will increase. Despite the amount of users, Vanta was really simple and an efficient tool for us!
What do you dislike about the product?
At the time our company was using Vanta, there were not enough integrations with HR tools that we were using. However, as of my most recent conversations with them, I understand that this is something they are working on this year. I look forward to using those new integrations in our next audit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to solve problems like policy creation for SOC audits. Our team took over the SOC audit and was struggling to find a way to stay organized. Vanta was the best decision we made. It was our central repository and main source of truth for all documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a fantastic tool for project management and the success of a SOC audit. Our team significantly benefited from Vanta and the methods it helped improve.
Readiness and visibility in one package
What do you like best about the product?
Because Vanta gives me a comprehensive list of controls, I was able to easily assess our SOC 2 readiness on my own without an expensive gap analysis consulting project. As we remediate gaps, I've been able to keep an eye on the controls that are integrated to ensure they stay remediated without a lot of tedious manual effort. And as a bonus, the policies they provide out of the box were written to fit a software organization like ours.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a little clunky. Some of the nice to have features could use some TLC before really adding value.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to get ready for SOC 2 without a third party readiness assessment. I was able to create our policies easily without having to use templates designed for traditional on-prem organizations. I am able to monitor a set of controls in the tool itself and am alerted when they fail.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They are expanding in other areas of compliance as well, so definitely ask about their product roadmap.

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta's app gave us excellent guidance to ensure that we'd succeed with our audit, along with almost all the tools we need to ensure that our controls are effective (such as managing policies, employee onboarding, offboarding, etc). Their customer success team was top-notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there are any downsides. I've been a huge promoter of Vanta.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta helped us go from having a very informal infosec program to successfully completing our SOC 2 Type II audit in a matter of months, with far less tedium than I'd expected. We also make heavy use of their security reports function, which helps prospects understand our security practices during the sales process and has short-circuited the need for SQAs in many instances.

Great tool, with even better customer support
What do you like best about the product?
Customer support is great - fast, responsive, and consistent. The product itself is becoming pretty integral to our employee onboarding and offboarding, as well as (of course) our SOC 2 compliance (the main thing we use it for). The task checklist is a really helpful tool to keep tabs on where we need to make additional investments in data security and privacy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integrations and product support for GCP customers were less robust than for AWS customers in the beginning, but they've been steadily adding features to get to feature parity for GCP customers. I'm not sure they're quite there yet, but it definitely feels closer now.
A few of the task-tracking statuses show incorrect data every now and then. I'm guessing this is because it only syncs with our services periodically, but some tasks can remain out-of-sync for a couple days before they reflect changes we've already made to address the issues originally raised.

SOC 2 compliance is much easier to track with Vanta. There's still a lot of manual process involved, but Vanta is eliminating those exceptions every day.
Let's you easily get compliant
What do you like best about the product?
We needed to become SOC 2 compliant and improve our security posture in general. Vanta came highly recommended so we went with them. While the SOC 2 process can be tough, Vanta made it as easy as possible. Our auditors (and from what I've heard, all auditors) were very familiar with Vanta and used it to store all our evidence. They also have tools that help with general monitoring and security. They're also constantly pushing updates and releasing new product lines that we could use sometime in the future.

Wish there was more hand holding at the beginning, we were a bit unfamiliar with the SOC 2 process
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to become SOC 2 compliant and achieved it through Vanta.

What do you like best about the product?
Comprehensive set of controls for SOC2 with almost all of the integrations needed for automated compliance checking already built in, plus a great support team when you have questions.

Needs a more centralized task management flow to help clear flags from the main task page instead of having to dive into the specific category.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta allowed us to get to and through our first SOC 2 audit with no hiccups at all. The controls available in Vanta enabled us to consider SOC 2 six months to a year earlier than we otherwise would have approached it, and allowed us to do so with minimal technical resources dedicated to the audit itself.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The earlier you can justify implementing Vanta, the easier it will be to start and complete your SOC 2 audit.

Policies are good but could use additional options for depth of controls.

Greatly decreased the time and effort required to achieve SOC2 compliance. Perfect for growing companies with limited resources. Capabilities for IT Asset Management and Third Party Vendor Management are easy and the ongoing management piece is key.

If you are looking for an efficient, functional jumpstart to your GRC program that will accelerate your process to SOC2, this is your magic bullet.

As a CEO, Vanta gives me peace of mind. I don't have to worry that our security team missed any little details because Vanta's constantly running in the background making sure we are on top of it. Vanta enabled us to quickly iterate towards SOC II compliance without slowing down the rest of our engineering velocity. The result has been faster sales cycles and more customers.
