What do you like best about the product?
One of the most impressive recent developments from IBM MaaS360 is the introduction of AI-Assisted Policy Guidance and "Summarize" features (rolled out in early-to-mid 2025).
This feature is impressive because it directly addresses the overwhelming complexity of modern Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) for IT administrators.
What it does: Instead of forcing administrators to navigate hundreds of toggles and policies, the AI engine can "summarize" existing policy configurations to explain their intent and impact.
Why it's impressive: It moves beyond simple automation and into context-aware guidance. It can analyze a policy and recommend improvements based on the desired goal (e.g., strengthening security for BYOD) while also providing a high-level summary of the implications of those changes.
This, along with the rollout of the new Native Enterprise App Catalog for iOS and the Fast Start program for SMBs, shows a clear focus on simplifying the experience while tightening security, reducing setup times, and leveraging AI for practical, daily decision-making.

IBM MaaS360, particularly when paired with Watson AI, improves performance across IT operations, device management, and end-user productivity through automation and intelligent insights. It aims to reduce device configuration time by up to 85-90% and decrease help desk tickets by 50%.
Here are the key areas where MaaS360 can improve performance:
1. IT Operations and Deployment Speed
Rapid Device Enrollment: Drastically reduces setup time using over-the-air (OTA) enrollment, Zero-Touch for Android, and Apple Business Manager.
Automation of Routine Tasks: Uses Action Orchestrator to automate device actions and maintenance, such as patching and OS updates, reducing manual workload.
Centralized Management: Provides a single console (Portal Home) for managing diverse endpoints (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, IoT).
Faster Troubleshooting: Enables remote support and screen-sharing sessions to diagnose issues without in-person visits.
2. End-User Productivity
Secure Access to Resources: Provides Single Sign-On (SSO) and seamless access to enterprise apps, email, and content.
App Catalog Performance: Offers native performance on iOS/iPadOS for the MaaS360 App Catalog, featuring curated app bundles for faster, more relevant deployment.
Reduced Downtime: Quick over-the-air deployment of security patches ensures devices stay compliant without disrupting user work.
3. Security and Compliance Performance
AI-Driven Risk Insights: Uses Watson to identify vulnerabilities and rank risks, helping IT teams prioritize remediation efforts.
Proactive Threat Defense (MTD): Detects and neutralizes threats like phishing and malware in real-time to prevent security incidents, reducing the time to resolution.
Automated Compliance: Continuously monitors for policy deviations and automatically remediates issues.
4. Cost and Efficiency Optimization
Reduced Support Calls: Decreases the volume of help desk tickets by 50% through automated self-service and improved user experience.
Mobile Expense Management: Helps reduce data costs by 10-15% by tracking usage, setting limits, and identifying high-data-consumption apps.
Streamlined Asset Management: Provides clear visibility into inventory, reducing time spent on audits by 58%.
5. Specialized Capabilities
Fast Start for SMBs: Offers preconfigured policies specifically for smaller businesses to get started in minutes rather than weeks.
Frontline Worker Support: Enables secure, specialized kiosk modes and non-GMS device management for industries like manufacturing and logistics.
These improvements in performance are achieved through a cloud-native SaaS model that allows for instant updates and immediate access to new features.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Need unified security for endpoints, users, apps & data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes
Comprehensive asset management and deployment
What do you like best about the product?
The software makes it easy for our IT team to deploy different levels of hardware and make sure everything is assigned and given correct privileges to certain individuals.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few limitations in the ability to customize the deployment of an asset. For a computer, there still takes some manual work on our end to fully set up a computer for an employee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When you have a lot of devices to deploy, the ability to set up things faster is crucial and Maas360 helps with that. It also helps us keep records of devices and track them down if needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say try a trial of it and see if it fits your business needs. There needs to be some workflows in place to really take advantage of it.
MDM Solution That Works
What do you like best about the product?
The application once setup is very easy to manipulate and install on devices. The management console is fairly easy to use as well. We have already used it a few times to access "lost" devices and recover them. It is mainly being used to push down apple apps to the devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup costs were not expected and the training was okay. It took a while to get the actual account setup but I don't think it was due to the actual software vendor but due to the sales person.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an MDM to send application updates to our apple devices that utilized a company apple account. We were able to setup each device and easily push down the updates to the devices without having to personally touch each device. The bonus is the lost device recovery feature which we have taken advantage of recently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
make sure that you have investigated other MDMs, this one is definitely a good solution but if I were aware of the upfront costs, then I would have probably selected a different vendor.
Great MDM product with extensive capabilities but it's not flawless
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the versatility of the tool and the fact that it supports various operating systems. We also use MaaS360 for pushing applications to end devices via policies. The interface is quite intuitive and beginner-friendly.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing much that I dislike about MaaS360 apart from the fact that we've experienced minor glitches and unexpected behavior. Creating an application package is not very straightforward and there are a lot of moving parts where things can go wrong. When we push apps to end clients we've noticed slight inconsistencies in the deployment and oftentimes the script that installs the application fails for some reason.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem we solve with MaaS360 is the mobile device management at the company. We have both Windows and Mac estate along with Android and iPhone devices. It's rare for an MDM product to support all these but MaaS360 covers our assets. With MaaS360 we can easily lock and wipe the device remotely if need be. We're also pushing new applications at scale via MaaS360 and that simplifies the installation process as it happens silently in the background.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product with extensive functionality but it's not working 100% reliably.
Our IT Team loves it
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of organization. We're also able to send sensitive info to upper management with group designation. Very intuitive
What do you dislike about the product?
A little uncertain when to override or wipe out a doc and start over. Not really a program issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benefits: no more password protecting sensitive info
