Enhanced email security with effective threat management and spam detection

What is our primary use case?

We were using Google Email earlier and wanted to move from Google to Microsoft. Knowing the vulnerability issues with Microsoft, we wanted a strong email security management system on top of Microsoft 365.

How has it helped my organization?

We aimed to enhance the server security perimeter due to previous vulnerabilities with Microsoft, ensuring a strong email security management system.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is spam detection and phishing site prevention, which Microsoft couldn't catch, yet Check Point does. Additionally, the threat management database provides consistent updates.

What needs improvement?

Check Point should integrate with features available in Barracuda - like more advanced threat management.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been working with Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration for more than five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is good. I haven’t experienced any outages or abrupt stops.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is good and improving, rated seven to eight out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Whenever there's a need, my team communicates with them, and we have always been satisfied. Rated eight out of ten.

We previously used Barracuda and chose Check Point as it was known to us and seemed better.

The initial setup was easy, rated between seven and eight out of ten.

We did it through Check Point's team, which involved three to four people, primarily from my infrastructure team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is reasonable, rated five out of ten for affordability.

We evaluated Barracuda but chose Check Point as it was better.

Substantial spam filtering software

What do you like best about the product?
This is the suitable security suite that has cleaned the email sharing system in the organization. It blocks unwanted emails and files with malware attachments enhancing legitimate communication among peers. It has sustained healthy document sharing and stopped several phishing attacks.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not hard to set and integrate this platform with enterprise communication infrastructure. The cost and user policies complies with company regulations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Check Point Anti-Spam & Email Security has enhanced secure employee collaboration. It detects malicious links and content from internet that can compromise network.

What do you like best about the product?
We loved the intutive UI, easy of deployment.
The solution provided a big uplift in capabilities from the outgoing SEG platform.
The implementation was easy and straight forward and support did an amazing job in addressing any issues that we picked up on the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
With 2 months into the implementation there are no major dislikes.
There were some limitations in shipping logs from HEC to our Security Event logging platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An email security platform that is easy to manage for both the engineering team and the email administrator.
For the end user, we wanted the platform to enhance their cyber awareness through feedback and ease of collaboration.

There are many major things which benifits using this solution,few of them listed below.
1. It provide security from phishing mail with anti-phishing feature.
2.It provide complete protection against malware.

Top-notch email protection software

What do you like best about the product?
It detects spams and compromised messages and quickly blocks them before reaching email inbox. Cases of phishing attacks have vanished since I started using Check Point Anti-Spam & Email Security. It has filtered out spams enhancing improved database transactions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The stable performance has enhanced email security and optimized database network operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Powerful security suite in email collaboration have minimized malware attacks. It has assisted the organization to comply with global data protection regulations.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing is the threat emulation it performs and even file sandboxing, the customer support is also very simple and smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
No downsides as such, maybe add more things into Protect plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being in consulting , we handle with lot of sensitive client data , email is the most used channel to interact with clients and lot of data stays there, phishing mails has been a big problem and Avanan solution helps.

What is our primary use case?

The use cases include anti-spam and anti-phishing. We have Email Collaboration for the anti-spam solution and anti-phishing solution. It’s a very good platform because every day, we block about 1,000 to 5,000 batch emails with malware, spam, etc. So for our business, it’s very important to have this platform, this solution, because it helps us very well with all email.

What is most valuable?

I have only a few features, anti-spam, anti-phishing, and DLP for a use case. It’s a very good platform. I tried all the models, all the features in this platform, and it works very well.

What needs improvement?

The pricing could be improved, because when I first bought it, it was cheaper than it is now. And the first time, I had more features than the trial license. It’s more costly now, but I have fewer features.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for about four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

For the years we’ve worked with the product, we haven’t had downtime.

I would rate the stability a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Our company has around 2,000 users. It is in the retail industry.

How are customer service and support?

We can make a ticket directly to the Check Point pack. It’s a great function. We don’t wait for customer support because customer requires collaboration, and it’s truly the case.

If the customer doesn’t have a fixed mistake in the platform, they need to escalate to Check Point. But I can escalate directly to Check Point for any support or consultation. So it’s very good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I tried Cisco. I tried with Office 365. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is a great solution compared to these other companies because it’s more intuitive. I can see attacks in real-time.

The solution blocks all the malware and phishing emails. The percent of failures is maybe 1%. So 99% of phishing, spam, or malware is blocked with the Harmony solution.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is easy. It is because it’s in the cloud. So we need to integrate Harmony with Microsoft Office 365, and it works. Maybe in three minutes to one hour, it works very well. We needed to make policies and collaborate with users, but it was very easy.

The implementation and the resolution took one test.

What about the implementation team?

We had two people, the customer and me, and maybe another person, but three people maximum is enough for the deployment process.

Maintenance is from Check Point. So we don’t need to do anything. It’s a great platform for maintenance. Check Point notifies us, so we need to do maintenance on the platform, and we’re okay with that. We’re good. We don’t need to do anything on the platform.

The cost is a little bit expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend using this platform because it makes policies and email integrations with Office 365 very easy. You can integrate Microsoft Teams with Sharepoint and OneDrive, and you can protect these clouds.

Overall, I would rate it a ten out of ten.

What do you like best about the product?
We don't have to go with the network team tondwrch email header and other details. The tool telemtry is efficient in log collection and its parsing. Forensic logs input plays a vital role in the email analysis.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is dull as compared to other tools. It has a latency in fetching the queries result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avanan gives us a complete visibility abkit our organization email and it's security.

Earlier we had to reach out the Network team for any minor details. This gives us an advantage to make policy and block the spammer from our console.

Inline scanning and advanced threat detection. Businesses find it easy to implement Avanan using an API. For businesses, its efficiency and simplicity make it a desirable option.
