Overall Avanan is a great tool to have in your company!
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity and ease of viewing and configuring evrything are, from my point of view, the best thing to have.
What do you dislike about the product?
The DLP and the dashboard need a new improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We stopped many phishing attacks. And since we have this tool, the users have the notifications from Avanan, and they are more active in mail security.
Great Product

Ease of use and deployment. The cost is well worth the value recieved

It could have more feature updates more often but regardless is an excellent suite of tools

Our company has resolved issues with email security and attempts at 3rd parties obtaining private information

There are many options on the market for cloud email security, but Avanan is the best choice. It's priced right, it deploys easily, the support team is great, and it uses good technology to solve problems for your business.
Avanan is a terrific email filtering solution
What do you like best about the product?
It catches just about everything that Microsoft ATP lets through - which is a LOT.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface is a bit clumsy and unintuitive, but you get used to it. I wish the product worked in real-time, but that is a minor concern.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The spam/phishing filtering alone has had a tremendous impact. Our users no longer spend a significant portion of their day sifting through email noise to get to essential communications.
Best Protection for Entire M365 Suit
What do you like best about the product?
1. No changes in MX records or SPF records hence protected from targeted attacks
2. Avanan sits behind the default M365 security hence truly adding an additional layer of protection.
3. Default email security from M365 is not bypassed
4. Protect entire M365 suits including email, teams, one drive & SharePoint which is unique
5. Scans internal emails as well.
6. Inline protection will scan & protect before the email is delivered in the user mailbox unlike other API vendors
7. Very easy to set up & configure. No expert knowledge required

There is nothing which I dislike at this point. Excellent product with an excellent team to support
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My email security is not visible to outside world since Avanan sits behind O365 layer. Hence it is protected from targeted attacks. Avanan protects other products such as teams, SharePoint and one drive and also scans internal emails, It also reports anomalies. Avanan provides flexibility for MSP model businesses as well.
Simple and Effective Email Security Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan was quick and easy to get up and running. We mainly purchased their service to block all the phishing attacks that Microsoft EOP misses. They catch/block 95-99% of what Microsoft EOP misses!
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had an issue with the Microsoft Blocked Senders list working for end-users since implementing Avanan. We are working with Avanan/Microsoft support to see if we can get this resolved, but no resolution yet. Their Anomalies section leaves a bit to be desired. I wish it had more information on the alerts. I also hoped they would block more SPAM/Marketing emails.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They catch/block 95-99% of what Microsoft EOP misses! Their Incident Response service is quick to respond to suspicious emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend doing a demo with Avanan to see if it meets your needs. They do inline protection, where others offer APIs to protect your mail. We also liked Abnormal Security a lot.
Excellent email scanner for a resonable price
What do you like best about the product?
Adds an extra layer of protection on top of bare Gmail.
What do you dislike about the product?
The setup wasn't without hiccups, but the technical team was able to assist us with all the issues.

Additional protection layer for all company emails
Easy and Reliable G Suite Filtering Service
What do you like best about the product?
The initial sales team was helpful in describing and demoing the product for me. The pricing is reasonable and the setup within our G Suite environment was simple and straightforward. After a few basic settings were in place we started to see a decrease in spam and phishing hitting our users inboxes. We have now been using the platform for over two years without noticeable downtime or any other major issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside I have experienced is some vendors aren't following proper email/web security guidelines and as such legitimate communications are sometimes blocked even though it's a well known domain, company, etc. However, I cannot really blame Avanan directly for this because they are merely taking a 'better safe than sorry' approach and there are ways of manually adjusting and allowing these kinds of communications if needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The standard G Suite spam/phishing filter is decent but doesn't catch everything. Between Avanan and G Suite we see almost no incidents of malicious emails making its way into our users inboxes. Additionally, with Avanan's quarantine and live scanning of attachments we are able to better review potentially malicious file much more safely than before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want a fairly priced and effective solution to protecting cloud-based email and document services, Avanan is a no-brainer.
Outstanding Cloud Security & Value
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan is very easy to deploy & integrate. Configuring is a breeze and pretty intuitive. The software is extremely comprehensive. And reporting is fantastic. And the price is very reasonable for the services delivered.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is very little to dislike. I would love to see a little more control over the interface, an ability to clear alerts I know longer wish to see, and just a wee bit more spit and polish. My complaints are VERY small...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An ability to protect customer cloud accounts against SPAM, Malware, Phishing, DLP, and visibility into Shadow IT and other anomalies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend this product to everyone looking for a comprehensive security platform. Too many others require multiple solutions to provide the same level of protection. Avanan's ability to integrate with Microsoft DLP is an added bonus. The product is included in basic start package that all customers must agree to use and has set the bar for other products on the market.
Enhanced Detection Way Beyond M365's Offerings
What do you like best about the product?
Once configured, it is a "set it and forget it" product. I just does its job without daily tinkering with settings or constant Admin console vigilance.
What do you dislike about the product?
When looking at a flagged entry, it takes a bit of time to learn how to navigate down through the many security alert links that can be presented. Also, users have requested to receive a daily digest of quarantined messages (similar to M365's report), but this option is not available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improving the phishing detection that M365 offered.
Amazing product!

The integration with O365 is excellent and seamless.

The trial is very limited, it only allows for 5 users.
