Avanan makes life easier and more secure!

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Avanan is less man hours chasing problems and knowing email security is in good hands.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far, I have found nothing to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avanan helped tremendously in getting our email spam problem under control. Benefits are cost, compared to previous solution and man hours saved.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Compare solutions and I think you will see Avanan stands above the rest.

What do you like best about the product?
Like most everyone else, we have emails that bypass Office 365's filters. Our users will click on nearly anything. Avanan prevents this behavior. We didn't know how much got through until we deployed Avanan. Speaking of deployment, it was simple. So simple that we had the "This can't be all you have to do" moments. Of all the software we use, Avanan ranks at the top of the ones I wouldn't want to be without.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. Really. It just works. I used to look at it every day to make sure it was doing what it advertised and now I just leave it alone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of human behavior. We have tried everything to prevent users from clicking emails, but nothing works except preventing them from getting to the user. We even have folks request obvious emails to be delivered after being filtered by Avanan. It's so easy to simply decline the request.

Avanan - Awesome security layer for email (Two Year Review)

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and transparent reporting. Most tasks can be done without leaving the Avanan interface. The product seamlessly integrates with G Suite, which is enormous for the K-12 crowd. I like the dashboard setup and event clarity.

Edit: At this point, I am two years into having this product and can only say it has been fantastic for us. This product has saved me an incredible amount of time chasing down, trying to block, or answering questions about spam/phishing emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
Set up was not entirely painless and took a few phone calls to get resolved, otherwise no real complaints. Set up is easy for the most part, but I think at the time, Google (we are GSuite) was making some background changes that tripped up the process. I did not get the impression that this was an Avanan issue, but it still took a bit to resolve.

Edit: Two years in now, I have to say that these pain points were only during setup. Day-to-day operations are very smooth and the Google integration is much improved. Any real criticisms I had of the product have been resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The amount of phishing attempts has grown exponentially in both scale and complexity for years. Avanan gives us a solution that can target criteria that is historically hard to pinpoint and do it inline before the email is ever delivered to the users inbox..... even for cloud services like Gmail.

Edit: Two years in now. This product is excellent at catching emails that are pretending to be from staff members. We were having issues with emails coming in pretending to be from another staff member asking for gift cards etc. and this has almost eliminated them. Another added benefit is that when integrated in GSuite you will get alerts when users log in from odd places. This can help you track down compromised accounts or, in our case (We are K12 education) students using VPNs to try and get past filtering.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Avanan can be a bit spendy but considering what a security breach can cost I still feel it is worth it. This product has been a fantastic security tool for us and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to shore up email security.

Advanced email security done right!

What do you like best about the product?
Avanan is almost too good to be true. It literally takes just minutes to install, it learns quickly, and it has effectively reduced my team's time dealing with phishing attempt response by nearly 90%. It was shocking to see truly how many email threats make it through O365's "filtering". Avanan helps me sleep better at night. What more can you ask than that?
What do you dislike about the product?
My only dislike is, honestly, that I didn't learn about Avanan sooner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had been experiencing a large number of phishing attempts for a long time, but once COVID-19 hit, those attempts increased significantly in number. It was getting to be too much to manage, knowing that if one user clicks a bad link, it could results in a security incident. While we provide continual security awareness training, I'd MUCH rather prevent them from receiving the emails to begin with and have to think about how to respond to them.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the Avanan interface. It is intuitive, easy to use, and they have phenomenal support. It just plain WORKS. The machine learning is also phenomenal and has helped me even become better at spotting various phishing techniques.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, if I have encountered any dislikes, querks, or downsides within the Avanan interface, I submit it to them, and they have ALWAYS quickly addressed my concern. If they can't fix it right then and there, then they submit it as a feature improvement request to their development.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increased overall security for sure. Our users are safer and have far less to worry about, which means I have less to worry about and less possible infections with users. Avanan is constantly catching hundreds of Phishing emails and many that contain malware. Honestly the greatest benefit has been peace of mind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dig in, ask questions. You will not be disappointed. I honestly cannot remember ever submitting a question to Avanan which they were not able to answer.

What do you like best about the product?
Avanan was easy to implement, it's easy to maintain, very reasonably priced, and works great. I cringe every time I look at our portal to see how many phishing and scam emails that had been getting through to our end users when we relied only on O365 security. Their sales and support teams have been phenomenal to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
That we didn't know about Avanan sooner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Protecting our end users from malicious emails and phishing attacks.

It's a must have tool. You will be happy with the service and the support.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use and the variety of services one can potentially enable to elevate the security. I also like how often the team is working on improving the dashboard by bringing in new tools to help us, the customer, stay safe.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't say that I dislike Avanan at all. Once you learn the details of its workings it is easy to use and works as described.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving phishing issues. Avanan is able to dramatically reduce the amount of Phishing email that our users receive and has helped us determine the amount of sensitive information that goes over our network via their DLP service so that we can put measures in place to reduce risks. Avanan is also able to help us determine if there have been accounts signed in from outside of the US which would most likely be due to an account break-in. Thankfully all the ones that Avanan has caught were legitimate in the sense that our users were the ones logging outside of the country.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would look into Avanan for Anti-phishing and Malware detection on emails. This is really a good product to reduce those coming into user mailboxes. In addition, Avanan does provide tools to help prevent security attacks like URL checking and email impersonation detection which comes in handy.

All Around Great Product

What do you like best about the product?
It gives you a single place to login and manage your email security and does a better job than Microsoft stopping threats. It is also easier to navigate than Microsofts tools. The easy ability to search your organization for an email that made it through and quarantine it from all mailboxes without having to use powershell is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a simple and easy tool there really isn't anything to dislike about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The Data Loss Prevention section makes it easier to manage your sensitive data by blocking or encrypting email messages automatically.

What do you like best about the product?
Initial deployment is very well documented and easy to implement

Increased security for SaaS applications. One of the main benefits was CloudGuard SaaS ease of use and deployment is smooth.
