Easy to Test - Easy to Implement
What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that Avanan takes 5 minutes to set up. The 30 day trail allows you to actually implement your own rules and alerts. If you are happy with the product, you just purchase the license. If you are not, it takes 5 minutes to remove. This is very different from other vendors that require you to reroute your mail to a third party for filtering. Tech support was very responsive and capable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Forcing SPAM to the Junk folder is less intuitive than it should be for an email security system
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have see a significant drop in phishing messages that were getting by the standard O365 filters. It's nice that they show you which were caught by each system so you can see exactly how many Avanan is blocking.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's so easy to test that you would do yourself a disservice to not at least give it a look.
Great effective Cloud Security product
What do you like best about the product?
I like how well the product defends against phishing attempts and how easy it is to whitelist false positives. i also love the impersonation protection it has.
What do you dislike about the product?
documentation is limited, that might be due to me not being able to find it though
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The impersonation protection is my favorite. we had issues with phishers trying to get those common things like apple gift cards and etc while pretending to be executives. After turning on the protection we have had a near zero issue with Impersonation.
Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of our phishing emails our company was getting was cut drastically. We had a hard time with some of our employees clicking on links they shouldn't and Avanan helped with that immensely.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes be hard to search for if an email has been blocked by Avanan and no one was notified. A more comprehensive search function would be helpful.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and how you can dig deeper in the dashboard

Nothing really,had some false positive on the geo sync but there support is awesome!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We didn't have a spam filter before. It has stopped alot of spam and helped make security awareness on the forefront.
Great simple cloud email security product
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity and effectiveness are the best selling points.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a new product so there are occasional polish issues, but nothing that effects the usability or functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly Phishing attacks, but the product is good to improve overall cybersecurity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We considered the other competitors and this product required significantly less effort and overhead to implement. Avanan was built specifically for O365/Cloud email and therefor did not require some of the on-premise or other bolt-on infrastructure. Consider that when making a decision with which product to purchase.
Out of the box ease of use!
What do you like best about the product?
We stood up in a POC Avanan to protect beyond what O365 could provide for protection. Having used other products, this was the EASIEST one to use. We are currently planning on going with Avanan in the future when the timing and funding allows. Our security auditor raved about how easy and well put together the product is!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, works as intended, support is great, and the product is easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email spoofing, and compliance requirements for protecting top execs and end users prone to security attacks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a POC and compare to others, the out of the box experience and functionality is worth it.

What do you like best about the product?
Avanan is simple to set up and does not require changing MX records which means there is no risk to the organization’s mail flow

I would like to see more advances in phishing protection specifically as it relates to handling URLs

Avanan simplified our email security and provides us more insight than competitors like Proofpoint
Solid Product
What do you like best about the product?
Reports on Shadow IT have been helpful in pointing where process is breaking down and addressing any underlying issues that are causing staff to use other non approved file sharing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Partner portal still needs work, but has come a long way.

A short experience with an implementation at a client
What do you like best about the product?
Sandboxing is one of key features that we started speaking with Avanan for the solution
What do you dislike about the product?
Fact that sandboxing is made on Avanan server which could sometimes become very hard to explain to clients

Mostly initiative was to solve mail sanboxing

The issues in regards to the attacks through e-mails were one of the most challenging part for us. Through Avanan Cloud Email Security we were able to overcome some internal issues which were founded by our team.

In case you need san boxing and an ant-phishing tool, avanan is the best on offering such thing :).
