What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and the ability of the product to intercept spoofed emails. The support has been spot on and helpful in configuration and also in explaining how the product works.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't had a bad experience as yet either with the product or support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had another product in place as a mail gateway and the ability to block spoofs was terrible. We trialed Avanan with the other product in place and it was able to catch the items that the other service allowed through. We are pleased with the support and the ability of that team to answer any questions we have had.

What do you like best about the product?
Multiple Av blades available. Great anti phishing technic very good phishing emails filtering capabilities.

Whitelisting and black listing GUI and functionality requires simplification and overall improvement

We are improving the protection level of our e-mail Office365 deployment. And Avanan helps us to prevent viruses and phishing emails

Avanan - A Game Changer for Office 365 Security
What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple Avanan was to set up. We were up and running in under 10 minutes. From there, Avanan mostly runs itself. Requires very little monitoring. I like how quickly support helps, when needed.
I like that Avanan is an inline email security product. Its able to catch malicious emails before they reach a user's mailbox. But, what I like even more is that Avanan is NOT an email gateway. This is important because with an email gateway you have to redirect your MX record to the email security provider, which is tipping off the attackers. When the attackers know which security product you're using, they can target you with known exploits for that product. Avanan does inline security in a different way. They use mail flow rules to redirect the email to their security servers, scan them, then send them back. This is all done near instantaneously.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. The only issue we have, which isn't Avanan's fault, is Microsoft ATP malware notifications get caught as malware by Avanan. This only happens because we're using both services. But Avanan is doing it's job.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we migrated to Office 365, within a month we were constantly under attack. Phishing attacks leading to compromised accounts leading to more phishing campaigns using those compromised accounts. It was never ending. Microsoft's security was doing nothing to help. We reached out to Avanan. Set up a POC and instantly the attacks stopped. Well, Avanan was stopping them from ever reaching the user's mailboxes. Everyone was happy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We migrated to Office 365 from an on-premise email system. We had no idea what was about to happen after migrating. We were never under constant phishing attacks until we migrated to Office 365. If you're using Office 365, or planning to move to it, you should seriously consider Avanan Cloud Email Security. Don't wait until you're under attack. I imagine this probably applies to any cloud email provider. We had the Office 365 E3 suite at the time. The included Microsoft email security is not sufficient. You need something like Avanan.
Great security product; Wish it did even more.
What do you like best about the product?
We like the approach Avanan takes by integrating with Office 365 at an API level instead of inserting itself into the SMTP stream. We heavily leverage its DLP capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
We wish they would build up the number of partners that they do API integration to allow us to monitor more of our SaaS platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily use it for Office 365 content security, both for malware and DLP protection. We are able to easily manage the system without extensive training overhead.

Very few cases of false-positive, not something that others not having but with the great responsive answer from their support it's like invisible.

As a company that loves SaaS apps, we found Avanan as the best solution for us by protecting us from security incidents, spammers, and phishing attacks.

Avanan Cloud Security A+
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan catches the phishing emails that Microsoft misses. This has been a savior for our environment multiple times.
What do you dislike about the product?
Avanan quarantines the Microsoft quarantine email messages. Double quarantine?! This quarantine makes sense because MS's email contains the original message as an attachment. However, it make does make investigations difficult when you do not have the original message.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email phishing and malware. Avanan does an excellent job removing phishing and malware threats from our environment.

User Friendly web console because of many improvements and fast support response

The website seems to have a bit of lag sometimes like you do not know when an email is confirmed to be quarantines or released.

phishing and spam filtering. Machine learning seems to be working great for us.

For the cost fo this cloud service, it is very comparable to expensive one and it does the job great of learning spam and junk emails.
Office365 Email Security Done Right!
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan uses multiple security tools and services to really bring a full 360 protection of Microsoft Office 365 email. Being that its an inline coded service makes implementation to productivity a breeze. The interface is very intuitive and performs most tasks for you in the background searching for other emails instances that apply to that actions you perform.
What do you dislike about the product?
On the dashboard, mitigating phishing attempts really needs to have an auto-refresh of sorts so you don't have to go back to the Dashboard and back into the phishing attempts list to refresh it. Refreshing the phishing attempts screen leaves all the fixed/mitigated items in there and you the count never goes down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have not brought up my dislike to Avanan just yet. But their support team is very quick to fix issues that I have reported in the past.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When we were researching other cloud email security programs, most of the other programs were built for Exchange and not Office365. We originally went with Microsoft ATP but that needed other tier upgrades in our Office365 services to give us the protection that Avanan would give us. So we dropped Microsoft ATP and went with Avanan.

What do you like best about the product?
Quick and easy to deploy security, which provides a great level of protection. Avanan is detecting and quarantining issues which are getting through other security filters. The Avanan team are fantastic to deal with and very receptive to feedback.
There are multiple security engines used for detecting malicious content, which provides an additional degree of protection through layers of defence.
The range of supported Cloud App products covers most of the commonly used cloud services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint\OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Gmail, Dropbox, Box, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
Management of email templates could be simplified. It is currently a bit of a manual process to update the different email templates, as they must be updated individually. This isn't something which needs to be done often though, it is normally only during initial setup.
The product isn't marketed as an anti-spam solution, but with a few additional features such as quarantine digests, it could be used for this purpose.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Effective detection of phishing emails and easy to understand analysis of exactly why an email has been deemed to be safe or malicious. We have more visibility into the threats which are targeting our clients SaaS environments, and greater confidence that threats will be detected and blocked, reducing risk to our client's data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try! If it doesn't have a feature you require, definitely worth having a chat to the Avanan team and letting them know as they may be able to add it quickly or put in on their development roadmap.
