Avanan = easy as can be
What do you like best about the product?
It definitely detects a lot more malicious emails than ATP and keeps the administrators totally aware of what's happening. It also provides a great overview of the environment and most importantly protects against a lot of phishing attempts.
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that there's no mobile app to manage the tool via a mobile device.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are being able to block a lot of suspicious emails, most of them turning out to be phishing attempts. We've noticed that the dashboards and management console provided gives us good visibility of what's happening.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's an economic and super easy to set up/use tool. It works great and helps with email protection.

What do you like best about the product?
As phishing and other attacks continue to grow for our clients Avanan continues to protect them and it gives us piece of mind as an MSP. Since switching all of our clients over to Avanan we have had a greater success rate of blocked unwanted emails and less Helpdesk tickets from end users. It saves us a lot of time and energy.
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints so far. Easy to use and setup. Very effective in the cyber security arena.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avanan helps protect our clients against Spam and Phishing emails as well as those that contain more malicious programs and malware.

What do you like best about the product?
Excellent phishing identification mechanisms/algorithms, very intuitive UI and fantastic support team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly no big gripes. I would like to see Avanan adopt a mobile app and/or UI.

Initial setup can be a challenge for some techs however the guide is straightforward. The creation of rules can take some time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're typically solving why emails were quarantined. The most beneficial for us is that we can send Avanan email headers and they assist in deciphering the issues were running into.
Avanan - Game Changer
What do you like best about the product?
We were early adopters and have been customers since 2016. The product from day one, once configured in less than 30 minutes, has been a "set it, and forget it". I do not have to worry about making changes to the platform. I do not have to make complicated decisions or make trade-offs in settings. Their decision to make this product super easy and not complicated is what makes them stand out and the opposite of every other email security or CASB platform out there.
I like the fact that Avanan sits behind Office 365 so we did not have to change DNS MX records, that we could take advantage of also using the Office 365 security tools as well. I think of Avanan as bolting on an upgraded turbo on my car.
The ability to mass quarantine emails or categorize emails is nice as well versus having to send out an email that something needs to be deleted.
The ability to detonate attachments in the cloud ahead of time has been the greatest email security improvement in my 20 year career. This was the initial reason why we decided to take a chance on Avanan working at an Accounting firm. We have clients or contacts that are compromised weekly and Avanan has stopped them. The best phishing engine I have worked with.
The ability to see Office 365 login attempts to watch for potential break in and account take over has been a nice feature as well.

It's a robust, flexible, user friendly Platform, easy to define all the configurations and settings

The product relies on Microsoft for how some items are classified; which can lead to inaccurate data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reducing phishing emails that the standard email programs don't catch, understanding where successful and unsuccessful logins are for our users and the speed to investigation & remediation. The teams make better decisions with the easy to understand data and 100s of phishing emails are filtered per day from our users' email accounts.

I would recommend proceeding with the trial; it'll quickly help you understand the value for your Company.
Easy and manageable email security
What do you like best about the product?
It's a great product with all the latest features to manage day-to-day email security and monitoring. It has robust features to manage and track all the email and file-sharing traffic integrated with it. It helped us with managing malware, phishing emails within our email client. One of the best it has to offer is the "Shadow IT" service, which provides us with a broad vision into the 3rd party services used by our business emails. Which technically helps us understand the sites and services used by our company personnel and the risks related to them. The UI is user-friendly and is very convenient to use from anywhere. Changing the policies is a very granular process and easy to set up. It provides custom filters, which can be very helpful when finding queries. Overall, This is a straightforward tool to use for email security.

We Haven't had any significant issues or dislikes.

It provides protection against spam and malware emails.

Interface needs some improvement, but it's has gotten better since we started using it. The company makes regular updates to the interface.

Enable us to monitor email, block unwanted sender, create rules for blocking or allowing. Also helped us prevent data leaks of PII

Excellent Email Filtering
What do you like best about the product?
Avanan has been one of the better purchases we have made. It has caught many suspicious emails that Microsoft Office 365 filters have missed. Very easy to use and configure. Very accurate, we have had very few emails released after they have been identified by Avanan as phishing or malicious. Support has been very good when we've made service requests. Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to improve their email filtering.

I don't really dislike anything about the product.

We are able to catch a lot of potentially harmful emails that O365 spam filtering is missing.
