Great email security, with some limits

  • August 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and has a low false positive rate. Relatively easy to setup and configure, integrated with Google workspace quickly. Generally low maintenance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support is a little slow to respond but is normally helpful. I have had 2 incidents where emails which should have been quarantined still got delivered due to a "processing error", but otherwise it has been pretty solid.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spam, phishing, and email malware protection.

Email protection has dramatically reduced phishing and malware threats

  • July 18, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is email protection against spam, phishing, and malware, and I can give a quick, specific example of how I'm using it day-to-day.

In practice, I'm blocking threats before they reach our users, quarantining malware.

What is most valuable?

The best features Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration offers are great inline email protection, ease of setup with Microsoft 365, nice tools for searching for emails, reviewing fish alerts, and its ability to play nicely with KnowBe4 simulated phishing and other vendors of simulated phishing out of the box, along with very informative diagnostics about how Check Point categorizes any individual email I pull up.

Out of all those features, the most valuable to my team is the email protection because it effectively secures our email communication.

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has positively impacted my organization with fewer impersonation attempts getting through and fewer invoice scams.

What needs improvement?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration can be improved because the console is very slow to navigate, pages are not responsive, and it can be a little confusing to set up initially when you're coming from a different vendor such as Mimecast, plus it seems to let through quite a bit more unsolicited spam than we used to see with Mimecast.

The console issues mainly involve a general performance problem.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for less than a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In my experience, Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration's scalability is fine; we have not needed to scale up or down, though I have mentioned that the performance is not the best.

How are customer service and support?

I have found the customer support for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration to be excellent for the setup we did, although we haven't had much experience beyond that.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Negative

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Mimecast before Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, and we switched because we had many sister company peer reviews of Check Point Harmony that were glowing and also because it was less expensive.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration in my environment was easy while working with their customer success team.

What about the implementation team?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration integrates with Microsoft 365 really well; it is easy to set up, manages transport rules and groups for you automatically, and you don't have to do anything manually in there.

The integration also really nicely shows me what Microsoft 365 decides about each individual email that comes in and what Check Point does afterward.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment since switching as we're probably spending close to half as much as we were on Mimecast; however, it doesn't really have an ROI because it's a security product.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration shows it was less expensive than our Mimecast licensing by quite a bit, so I found it pretty straightforward.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated other options before choosing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, specifically Proofpoint and Mimecast.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration a nine out of ten.

I choose nine because the performance has some downsides and negatives that keep it from being a perfect ten.

A quick tip I would suggest is to see if you can get a demo because Check Point Harmony will do a full demo without even switching away from your old email protection.

What do you like best about the product?
+ Great Inline email protection, easy to setup with Microsoft 365 (they create all the transport rules, etc. for you)
+ Nice tools for searching for emails, reviewing phish alerts, etc.
+ Plays nice with KnowBe4 simulated phishing and other vendors of simulated phishing out of the box
+ Very informative diagnostics about how Check Point categorizes any individual email you pull up
+ Great Customer Success team (on-shore) that helps with implementation and setup
What do you dislike about the product?
- Console is very slow to navigate, pages are not responsive
- Can be confusing to setup initially when coming from a different vendor
- Lets through quite a bit more unsolicited spam than we used to get
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do not trust our email security filtering to Microsoft 365 built-in protection alone, have always had supplemental protection like Proofpoint, Mimecast, etc.

Protects email integrity with noticeable reduction in phishing incidents for large user environments

  • June 17, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is for protecting emails which are incoming and outgoing, for any attachments or malicious email, protecting from malicious email, phishing emails, and any malicious attachments coming from the emails. HEC is implemented inline and is integrated with Office 365, protecting around 34,000 users who are behind HEC.

Additionally, the DLP feature is implemented for the users, allowing control over whatever the users are trying to upload on the SaaS applications or anything else that can be controlled by HEC.

How has it helped my organization?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has positively impacted my organization by ensuring that only clean emails are delivered to users, around 34,000 users are being protected by HEC. If HEC finds any malicious content in the email, that will be blocked, and only clean emails will be delivered, saving time from unnecessary disruptions in the network, and eventually helping the organization to grow.

I have definitely noticed a reduction in phishing mails and other malicious attachments because HEC is set inline, blocking all kinds of malicious emails and only delivering safe mail to the end users. I can say that thousands of malicious or phishing mails are getting blocked at the edge for around 34,000 users.

What is most valuable?

The best features Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration offers in my experience include integration with the sandbox HEC in the backend, which uses checkpoint sandboxing capabilities to detect zero-day attacks, and it has a unique capability of protecting password-protected files, being able to scan for password-protected attachments. Furthermore, internal scanning and impersonation are also good features about the Check Point HEC.

Administering Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is easy, as the policies are straightforward and we can simply go with the standard best practice options which are predefined. These options are easy to implement and configure, with the integration with Office 365 also being straightforward.

What needs improvement?

Currently, Check Point HEC supports only Microsoft Office 365 and Google Sheets. In today's world, some clients are using old email service provider solutions, so it would be better if HEC also provides support for third-party email service solutions, such as IBM HCL Notes, creating more opportunities.

The UI is user-friendly, which seems fine, and I don't have any additional thoughts about needed improvements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for the past two years as an administrator, and I have implemented Check Point HEC.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

In my experience, Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is stable, and there are no downtimes noted.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration scalability is good, as it allows integration with SaaS applications as well.

How are customer service and support?

For customer support, I would rate it around eight, as sometimes we get delayed responses. We understand that with respect to SLA, but we expect they can go beyond SLA and provide quick support for the client.

I rate customer support at eight.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution before Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration in my environment is straightforward. Initially, we have to register at the Infinity portal, and after successful registration, we have to log in. Since it supports only Office 365, it requires only global admin credentials for integration, which is a straightforward process that can be completed within a few clicks.

The configuration process after deployment is easy, as the setup, rules, and policies are predefined, allowing us to use best practice and default settings that are simple and easy to implement.

The initial setup with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was straightforward without any hesitations, with configuration steps being very easy to implement.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment since implementing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. The time saved for around 34,000 users, protecting and delivering safe emails to users, reduces unnecessary disruption in the network, allowing users to focus on their desired tasks and helping the organization grow.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration are okay; however, it might be higher compared to other vendors, but it's justifiable regarding the security features provided by Check Point.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have no knowledge about evaluating other options before choosing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is to go with the best practice, which is already predefined and to select options while configuring policies based on those suggestions.

I chose to rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration nine out of ten because I'm expecting some reduction in false positives, as it's AI-driven, and I understand that AI-based false positive detections happen, so I recommend improving that in the future.

My company is a partner with this vendor. I have not been offered a gift card or incentive for this review. I do not have any additional thoughts about Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration.

  • June 13, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Harmony Email & Collaboration is your all in one hub for the teamwork bringing together email, chat, video calls and file sharing in one seamless platform. With top-tier security (think end to end encryption and anti-phishing) your conversations stay locked down and safe. Plus, AI-powered features like smart email sorting and quick reply suggestions help you work smarter, not harder and ease to implement also.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Harmany has a lot to offer, there are a few pain points to consider. Users switching from Gmail or outlook might some time to adjust, as the interface works differently. The AL tools can be hit or miss sometimes helpful, other times a little of. some of the more powerful features are locked behind higher-tier and occasional sync glitches can throw off your workflow. A handful of users also wish it played nicer with certain third-party apps compared to alternatives
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Harmony Email & Collaboration keeps it simple emails, chats and video calls all in on secure spot. No more security worries or messy email chains. Plus, our AI handles the busywork while your team focuses on what matters. And the best part, it grows right along with your business.

Check Point Email Security – A Solid Layer of Protection with Practical Controls

  • May 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Avanan is that it works where we work. It doesn’t force us to change how we do email—it just integrates directly into Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace and starts protecting immediately. That kind of seamless setup is rare in security tools.

It’s also incredibly good at catching real threats without getting in the way. Phishing emails, spoofed senders, suspicious links—it catches them before our users even know they existed. And if something does slip through, it can remove it from inboxes automatically, which is a huge relief for IT.

Another big plus is the visibility it gives us. The dashboard is clean and informative, and the reports actually make sense. We can see what’s happening, what was blocked, and why—without digging through a maze of menus.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some settings and policy controls feel buried or not clearly explained. You sometimes have to click around a bit to find what you’re looking for, especially if you’re new to the platform. Small frustration is that advanced policy configuration and DLP rules can feel a bit technical. The flexibility is there, which is great, but the learning curve for setting up more complex rules is steeper than expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avanan is helping us solve one of the biggest and most persistent problems in IT security: email-based threats. Phishing, malware, account compromise, and data leakage—these are things we deal with constantly, and Avanan has made a big difference in reducing that risk. Avanan integrates directly with Microsoft 365 via API, we didn’t have to change our email flow or infrastructure. It was easy to deploy and caused zero disruption to users, which made adoption smooth and stress-free. It has ability to integrate with one drive share points and teams.

Comprehensive Review of Check Point Email Security

  • May 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I really like about Avanan is how seamlessly it works with our existing email setup—whether you're using Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, it just plugs in via API. No complex setup or rerouting email traffic. It’s quick to deploy and doesn’t disrupt anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest challenge for me has been the alert noise. The platform is very good at detecting threats, but sometimes it flags too much—especially during the early stages of deployment. It can take a while to fine-tune the policies so you're not flooded with alerts that turn out to be false positives. It’s not a deal-breaker, but it does require some upfront effort. We also noticed that policy customization—especially for more advanced DLP or encryption scenarios—can get a bit tricky. The flexibility is there, but it’s not always as straightforward as it could be, and the documentation doesn’t always explain things in simple terms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main problem it solves is the constant threat of phishing and malicious emails. The built-in Data Loss Prevention (DLP). It helps ensure that sensitive data—like customer information, financial details, or confidential documents—doesn’t leave the organization by mistake or through misuse.

Email security effectively detects a wide range of threats and improves productivity

  • May 22, 2025
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is to address email threats. It has been effective for our organization by stopping many different kinds of threats, including phishing attacks and ransomware attacks. I am impressed by its AI capabilities because different AI capabilities are incorporated in Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. It has been very effective for us, especially when an attacker tries to use AI in their email attack. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has been effective in stopping those kinds of alerts and giving us insights about what is happening in an email alert. The AI features in email security within Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration have been particularly effective for us.

What is most valuable?

Regarding specific incidents where Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration's AI features stopped threats, we receive notifications whenever there is a new alert through email to the admin. Whenever there is an alert, we go to the dashboard to check what kind of alerts it has and proceed with the investigation. The system has a very nice dashboard with a clear layout when investigating incidents, showing email profiles and attack types. In the relationship section, it shows different AI indicators that confirm why a threat was stopped and what AI features are at play, indicating AI threats evident in the email. This helps us during investigations as it is easy to see different indicators and decide whether a threat requires quarantine or whether it's a true positive or false positive.

The first standout feature is that it's an API-based email security solution. It took us hardly half a day to get it deployed and set up, compared to other email securities such as Barracuda Email Security which takes days to fully deploy due to inbound and outbound connector setup requirements. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was protecting our incoming, outgoing, and internal emails within half a day of deployment. Another impressive feature is that it offers API-based inline protection, unlike Trend Micro Email Security which wasn't inline, meaning emails would first go to the inbox before being removed if threats were found.

The incorporated AI capabilities are particularly notable, functioning as AI versus AI. It has protected us from various threats and has a nice dashboard that shows if anything is missed by MS 365. For instance, last week we received an email flagged as safe by Microsoft, but Check Point flagged it. Upon investigation, we found it had a malicious attachment, and Check Point provided a full report highlighting the malicious indicators.

The positive impact includes a clear reduction in threats and improved detection capabilities. The dashboard is impressive, neat, and clean, showing all information about threats on the initial landing page. The analytics are very good, particularly the ability to identify real source IPs, which was a distinguishing factor from Trend Micro.

The URL emulation and real-time on-click protection are impressive features. When we receive a malicious document, it can sanitize the document by removing malicious elements while maintaining benign content. The user-to-admin interaction feature for managing quarantined emails is also noteworthy. We utilize analytics to generate reports, helping us pinpoint types of threats and their origin, which has been instrumental in implementing targeted training programs.

What needs improvement?

Since we have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for a year, we haven't encountered significant challenges. However, it would be beneficial if it could support other email security services beyond Microsoft and Google. Integration with other platforms would enhance its appeal since the features are commendable.

While the analytics are commendable, they don't provide deep dive insights. They show the overall counts of malware, phishing, and business compromise emails, but there isn't a robust ability to dive deeper into those categories to see specifics. Analytics should allow us to explore which users received malware emails the most or trends among departments. Currently, we have to sift through manually, which is not ideal. A more profound analytical capability would elevate the tool to become the complete email security solution for any user.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for almost a year.

How are customer service and support?

We have used their support and rate it highly. We opted for the 24/7 premium support, which is very responsive and quick whenever we have configuration challenges or other inquiries.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used Barracuda and decided to switch to Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration because Barracuda was unable to detect a range of threats that we can now identify thanks to Check Point's capabilities. The switch was primarily due to Check Point's API-based email security, which stood out during our evaluation.

How was the initial setup?

Deployment of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was genuinely impressive and easy. You just needed the Microsoft admin credentials to set it up. After providing those credentials, you receive the options for automatic or manual deployment. When we chose automatic deployment, everything was successfully set up in about 10 to 15 minutes, followed by the application of default policies. Deployment was actually really straightforward for us.

After deployment, the configuration process was not challenging at all. We did not encounter any issues. The primary thing we had to do was change the default policy from detection mode to prevention mode after a few days. Initially, it only detected issues, but per guidance from Check Point and based on best practice documents, we switched to prevention mode. Moving to that mode was easy, and we quickly began seeing emails being quarantined and prevented, making the process quite smooth.

What about the implementation team?

We have not faced any challenges integrating it with syslog and other services. The integration experience has been very good and seamless.

What was our ROI?

We have seen a clear return on investment. The time saved during investigations is significant due to the neat dashboard that organizes everything related to alerts. It doesn't require many people to investigate alerts effectively.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing, I found it competitive. Check Point provided discounts, making the pricing reasonable with respect to the features they offer. The pricing is very justifiable, neither exceptionally high nor exceedingly low.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, we evaluated Trend Micro email security, but faced several challenges, such as an inability to support email banners and provide real source IP addresses, which we found lacking. Ultimately, we found that Check Point offered far better features, is stable and scalable.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others considering Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is straightforward. If you're looking for email security that is easy to deploy without disrupting your production environment, this is a great choice. With traditional gateway-based email security, you often have to deal with changing MX records and setting up various connectors, which can be a cumbersome process for administrators. This isn't an issue with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. In just about 10 minutes, one can set it up and get going with the required administrative credentials. Besides ease of deployment, it also offers a range of features that enable detection of malware, phishing attacks, business compromise emails, and other email threats effectively. It has been a very capable solution, and I haven't faced any challenges concerning threats after nearly a year of usage. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration a nine because it satisfies all our requirements. The tool has effectively triggered various threats, which has increased our productivity in areas such as investigation, threat detection, and analytics. The user interaction has also improved, yielding benefits that contribute to a very valuable package for us.
