What do you like best about the product?
I love the data insights, areas for reference comments, and the comparison reports. I also love the reduced amount of time I spend on the phone and email references due to the automated process.
It shows me the strengths and potential weak areas of each candidate, and I can test the impressions I had during the interview process.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally we have jobs where there isn't a survey match; this includes Parks and Recreation and our Assistant Director positions.
Customizing the survey would be helpful if there isn't a direct match. Also, having a pricing renewal system with less than a 20% increase each year would be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time spent during the selection process and accuracy/better hires are the outcomes we've had using this tool.
My team and I are big fans because it relieves us from a manual process and gives us a beautiful analytical report to hand managers.

What do you like best about the product?
Our HR team no longer has to worry about calling and playing phone tag with prospective employees references. Such a huge time saver!
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have the software integrated into our existing ATS to eliminate the manual input of each employee.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to get references timely which has helped us gather more helpful information about the potential new hire earlier on in the interview and selection process.

What do you like best about the product?
It saves my recruiters an average of 2-3 days when it comes to obtaining references.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. It works very well. Love the ease of use

It makes the Recruiters more efficient. Time that can be better spent on actual recruiting

Simple, Unbiased Reference Platform

What do you like best about the product?
The automation between the candidate stage and the reference check remains seamless. We’ve seen a consistent turnaround of under 48 hours, which allows us to close offers much faster in a competitive market
What do you dislike about the product?
While the desktop interface is great, further streamlining the mobile consent process for candidates would be a plus, as many of our applicants are completing these steps on the go
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation of the process through SkillSurvey is key. It saves our recruiters time calling and scheduling reference checks and allows those providing references to answer at their leisure. The ability to provide a concise overview of the reference and benchmarking is helpful and unbiased.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For an organization that hires more than a handful of employees each month, SkillSurvey provides a great platform and solution to automate an outdated process, eliminate bias and provide data to benchmark all hires. For organizations that do not have volume hiring, you still get the added benefits of a streamlined reference process but may not find that it is not worth the cost.

Easy to use - great added sourcing benefit

What do you like best about the product?
Skill Survey integrates well with our applicant tracking system. Once it's set-up, there's very little administrative maintenance work to be done. It's also great that they have an added sourcing option to capture data from references who may be interested in opportunities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reference default packages can be a little limiting. If you have positions that may not have great response rates with references, there are some system limitations that prevent you from accessing all of the reference information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the current environment, we have to pursue all available souring options, so it's great to have a passive system in the background to build a potential candidate pipeline

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to request references from new candidates using SkillSurvey. The work is done for you via the templates.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have any complaints about the platform. It's very user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer have to make phone calls to references and get the run around using paid employment databases to gather information. It was very time-consuming.

A streamlined way to hire new talent - iCIMS is great

What do you like best about the product?
iCIMS provide a clear itemized list of past, pending, and future approvals needed throughout the entire step of interviewing and hiring new employees. This can be managed by admins and easily used by any employee in the pipeline. It helps keep track of historical interviews, resumes, and notes. You can also send reminders to others in the pipeline that something is pending their approval to speed up the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface for iCIMS can be a bit overwhelming and outdated at times, mainly if you are used to many of the new fancy applications that companies put out these days. This is mainly intended as an internal company portal, though, so the functionality is still high, which is what is most important.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using iCIMS to organize our hiring process including collecting resumes through recruiters, scheduling interviews, sharing notes internally about candidates, and sending out offer letters.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
iCIMS is very customizable and can help track all new applicants in one place that anyone in your organization can access and see.

Super Easy Reference Check Process

What do you like best about the product?
SkillSurvey makes reference checks quick and easy for both the prospective employee and their references. We like that prospective employees have the ability to submit their references when they are ready, and the references do not have to wait around for a phone call. We are able to establish templates and questions for specific positions that we feel are most relevant to the position hired for.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing to dislike at this time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SkillSurvey allows us to review references anonymously and cross-reference each references' feedback to ensure consistency. Managers of the prospective employee are also able to review the candidate reports.

I love the delegate tool inside the requisitions for marking off onboarding tasks

The inability to sort by status in the req list
