Great functionality, but poor user interface
What do you like best about the product?
It's so easy, as an employer, to request references. References really do respond quickly and you gain valuable feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
Utilizing SkillSurvey can be a pain. I feel the interface is overly complicated, and there could be more analysis of the data to help me as a non-data oriented person understand the information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving TONS of time performing reference checks, and gaining valuable job-specific information. As a really small team, there would be no possible way for us to handle it on our own!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
SkillSurvey is a great tool that provides valuable insight at a reasonable price. I recommend providing hiring managers with a more brief summary of the results for them to digest, instead of providing the entire report. Would recommend SkillSurvey to small or large teams.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that skill survey has a straight forward interface that is easy to navigate. All email communications are easy to spot and understand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too often, questions are phrased poorly or are unclear on inferences and givens.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Through the use of this software our institution has gained clear and usable statistics. A clear understanding of the combined thoughts and insights of all of our staff is quite a powerful resource.
Easy, Hands-Off, Great Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of using SkillSurvey and the quick nature of getting qualified references back.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really can't think of anything that I don't like. It's serving it's purpose for us!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Less phone time tracking down references by phone calls. Candidate ownership of the process puts priority on them to provide references and follow up.

What do you like best about the product?
It's efficient, easy to use, and people can share feedback when it's most convenient for them

Not everyone is familiar with the tool and therefore may not "trust" it to be reliable
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managers only need to call references if they choose to, and this saves a ton of time. The references are honest and thorough

What do you like best about the product?
The database and the fact that we catch people faking their references. The insights are incredible and people will rate candidates fairly accurately and give specific feedback on skills required for the job. One comment stated that the candidate was a great person as long as you don't require her to sell anything. The position was for Insides Sales. Respected resource with incredible data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. Just don't like the fact that candidates try to cheat. Don't like the features around current employer references but it is not something we haven't been able to work through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hiring much better Inside Sales staff, preventing bad hires who don't have the skills required for the job and significantly reducing turnover.

Very little work is needed by the initiator of the survey.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to have two additional references instead of just one complete the survey in order to refinalize.

What do you like best about the product?
SkillSurvey has simplified our reference check process and created natural pipeline with the reference opt-in.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not as intuitive as I would like. It could use some simplification and 'beautifying.'

Consistency with reference checks.

What do you like best about the product?
It is so easy to compare candidate reports for those hard calls on which to choose. It is also nice to see the comments left by the references.
What do you dislike about the product?
There really isn't anything that I dislike about Skill Survey. It's reports and insight have been of great value to our company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Utilizing Skill Survey as part of our recruiting process has eliminated manually calling any references. It has saved time and provided a consistent questionnaire for the references regardless of the recruiter.
