Generally a great experience overall
What do you like best about the product?
Having a direct shared connection within my team is wonderful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I love sharing links with team members. I DON'T love that is always opens a new browser window before it connects to the finder window. I wind up having multiple browser window's open at a time and need to close them all one by one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Multiple users working from home
The most seamless and easy cloud workspace out there
What do you like best about the product?
For creative industry professionals, LucidLink is an absolute game-changer for collaborative editing. It ingeniously connects cloud storage like a local hard drive, enabling us to effortlessly handle enormous RAW footage files without any buffering delays. This robust performance ensures that our entire editorial team, including those in remote international locations with less-than-ideal internet speeds, can access and edit large projects seamlessly, fostering true real-time collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the tool is incredibly powerful, its current pricing structure appears primarily tailored for larger enterprises, limiting accessibility for smaller operations or individual professionals.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to send files and monitor projects easily with our remote video editors. We don't need to worry about uploading all our media onto an online server or hard drive and sending that off to our editors. They're able to download the software and grab the files they need seamlessly, saving us so much time.
Easy to use and has changed remote working!
What do you like best about the product?
Lucid is so easy to use because of how it works it doesn't even feel like you are using a server to remotely save to. The way it works makes it feel like you are just saving onto your own computer and is easy to install. The best feature is the snapshots, so you can go back and retrieve files which you have saved over by mistake!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is that paying per file means we get asked to clear out our work a lot to make sure we aren't storing files we don't need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before we were working off of hard drives which was a pain, so Lucid has made it much easier to work between the office and at home.
Working with Lucidlink has been a game changer for working with remote editors!
What do you like best about the product?
For our small boutique ad agency we always are ramping up using external editor resources, with LuciLink it streamlines the workflow onboarding and getting project files to them. The added bonus is that we can check their work and jump in and collaborate during the edit process to get to the finish line quicker. Gone are the days of sending project hard drives and not having access during the post process. We love the onboarding process implemented with the new version of LucidLink.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike is remote editors using internet services that have data use caps. It takes some training on our end to help them understand pinning and other LucidLink methods to get around this. Some editors have also downloaded the project to a local drive without us knowing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems LucidLInk is solving for us is helping us collaborate smoother with external editors. It's a time saver when I can add or delete media from an external edit project and supervise a project and how it stays organized by the editor. It's a big win when I can jump in and change an edit at the last minute and export for delivery.
Seamless Integration Into Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
The speed and ease of use and how you can edit things without having to take it off lucid
What do you dislike about the product?
It occasionally disconnects and I have to keep relinking my account
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing files with different team members makes this it a lot easier
Grest software for video editors
What do you like best about the product?
I had to use the software to transfer large video files with my colleagues. The software is quite intuitive, so it was easy for my colleagues and me to use. Also, it had a fast and reliable connection.
What do you dislike about the product?
Downloading and installing the software is required. It would be great if some of the features could be used through the web.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transfering large video files often take long time. LucidLink made the process faster and more efficient.
Overall good
What do you like best about the product?
Its quick and efficient once you are logged in
What do you dislike about the product?
There was Lucid link old and then new - they had different logins and accounts - its really confusing how you share files once in your folders
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Get footage over to collaborators quickly
Great for remote AV, instant access!
What do you like best about the product?
Smooth remote AV workflow. Instant access to files saves huge time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love an offline low-res/proxy option for uninterrupted work on the go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborate in real-time. Multiple team members, regardless of their physical location, can work on the same project simultaneously in applications like Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Pro Tools. This has drastically sped up our review and feedback cycles.
Works well so far
What do you like best about the product?
Since moving to my new office my docking station has since failed to connect via ethernet to my onsite server that houses my media, this has lead to an extreme lag when working in premiere pro, causing a major back up within my workflow. Lucid link has allowed me to maintain my workflow and edit on premiere pro. It was easy to set up, even on different operating systems. This also allows me to share media effectively and efficiently between different locations.
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial customer support was horrid. I had some questions on details about setting up and just wanted to hop on a quick conference call with my IT department and Lucid link and after 3 weeks they weren't able to do so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster and better sharing between different locations and remote access when I am out of the office without a direct connection to our main server.
Using LucidLink as a Translator
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about LucidLink is how easily I can share audio files with the other members of my current project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure if I would categorize it as 'disliking', but the least appealing part of using LucidLink for me is how long it takes for the software to load when I open it in my PC.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the project I'm working as a translator/language specialist, LucidLink makes it easy for me to share the revised audio files with another member of the team who are in charge of editing them and uploading them to the internal system of their company. These files are secret and protected by the NDA I signed, so by exporting them in LucidLink, I don't keep them in my own PC.
